Effexor has worked for me every time. Recently I had another episode of depression after a stressful work situation and not pursuing my own goals and hobbies. As it always happens I had forgotten how horrible depression is and I also had some doubts: would Effexor work again? I was very worried for the first two weeks. I read some negative reviews and thought maybe this time the medication would n...
Unfortunately, my 25 year-old son's depression worsened and he thought he could correct it by taking a second pill. This unfortunately led him to commit suicide December 5, 2007. Please, please be careful and read the information provided.

I'm taking it to haelp me take less migraine medication. But so far it hasn't helped my headsches. What I do like is it keeps me in a good mood and doesn't effect my sex drive like Prozac or Paxill did.

My Dr. had placed me on this, because I said I was going to kill myself, but in reality I didn't think I was ever going to get out of rehab after my car accident. They were just words and I got out of rehab a little over a week later. I was just in rehab for 5 months and I wanted to get out so I could finish school so I didn't have to repeat a year. 1) I shouldn't have said what I did 2) He should have listened when I told him I was just saying that 3) The drug messed with my head. I took myself off of it with no side effects. I do know I'm thrilled that I'm off it now, and have never been happier, even though I still had to repeat a year... Read More Read Less

My doctor has me taking 75mg/day, alternating with 150mg/day (1 pill odd days, two pills even days). I have had no problems, and my depression is under control. When I began to take the 2nd pill, however, I developed a rash on my face from the moisterizer I have been using for years. It has vitamins C and E in it. The rash took almost a week to go away, and when I tested the cream a few weeks later, I had the same rash. I changed moisterizers and have had no other problems.
