I read the reviews and was terrified. However, I did notice that the positive reviews were coming from young adult women with treatment resistance. I have Bipolar 1 and I was super nervous this med would make me manic. I am still in the first week, however I just feel uplifted and not manic at all. I am Black Latina 25 female. PTSD, Bipolar, ADHD. 200lbs. I take the med at night because it d...

I’m a high school student and on the one hand it helped to greatly improve my grades and ability to focus and be productive, but it was NOT worth it. The first big thing was I had even more trouble sleeping (even on nights where I wasn’t up late working) and it only got worse. I would feel incredibly useless whenever I couldn’t be productive and it seemed like anything I found enjoyable was sudden...

Please avoid this med! My son (14 at the time) had tried several diff meds over the years. He was off meds for some time and doing well when he started demonstrating some impulsivity again. His doc prescribed Qelbree which was newly FDA approved. After approx 2 months on a starting dosage with no noticeable improvement, she increased his dosage. His mood worsened, and he became withdrawn. He began having suicidal ideations and depression, and approximately one month later, he died by suicide. I am 100% convinced that this med contributed to his decision. Read More Read Less

I (an adult) have been taking this medication for about 6 months. The only difference I noted was being able to slow down and focus on small individual tasks. But the cons out way the pros. If I go over 24 hours without taking the medication I get a terrible migraine and nothing makes it go away.

I get sleepy and is constipated. I don't complete task and have no get up and go in me. The medication is not helping me focus. I have been on it for 3 weeks though so that might be the reason.

My 10 year old daughter has been on qelbree for almost 6 months, and it has been a godsend! Her teachers are thrilled with her ability to pay attention and her impulsiveness has improved tremendously as well! No side effects other than sleepiness for the first few weeks, which went away.

We are on week 2 and recently increased to 200mg. Qelbree has been like night and day for our inattentive ADD 11 year old girl. Her focus and attention have significantly improved she is getting 100's in school and improving in her swimming practices, now leading in her lane understanding technique a whole lot better! So far we love these positive results praying that it stays the same long term. No sleepiness or weird side effects. Maybe for this type of ADD is miraculous. We feel truly blessed in having found this medicine as it's a non stimulant. We waited many years because of opposing to stimulant medication. We also combine it with Equazen Pro (Omega-3). It's our first ADD medication ever. Don't let negative reviews influence your decision each kid is different!Read More Read Less

My experience with Quelbree was horrible. In less than two 2 weeks I got my results. They were not at all what I was expecting. I couldn't sleep, the only thing I could do is wish that I had never started this treatment. I was very fatigue, I don't know if this is just me or the treatment, but I was also constipated. Don't get the wrong idea, it has helped me focus and settle down a lot, but I would rather be the joyous ADHD kid, the be the slow, boring, fatigue zombie turned me into. If you think this will help your kid, go ahead and let them start the kid. You should listen to me though, when I say that this sucked.Read More Read Less

I have been taking Qelbree (400mg/day) for five months along with a Clonidine patch (0.2mg/day) for my tics. I’m also autistic. I have had minimal side effects that only occurred towards the beginning of my usage of Qelbree. For the last few months I’ve had no side effects. My executive functioning, hyperactivity, processing speed, mood, and overall health has greatly improved. I feel the best I’ve felt in years and I’m doing great in school. I highly recommend this medication.

My son cannot tolerate stimulant medication for his ADHD. He also has autism and has been incredibly impulsive and physically aggressive. Qelbree completely changed our lives. His social skills have improved, he can participate in school, and he has not been physically aggressive. I'd say he is 90% better than he was before. Qelbree is not covered by our insurance but it has been worth the price to see him start thriving.

This medication was terrible for my 9 year old. It made him almost manic. He was extremely irritable after about 2-3 weeks. We increased the dose after about 6 weeks and thing got even worse. He was getting in trouble for talking constantly in class and being belligerent toward his teachers. He started doing strange behaviors like balling up wet paper towels and throwing them at the wall. He started refusing to go to school and refusing to do his homework. He was incredibly impulsive- more so than usual and had no idea why he was doing these odd things. I have no idea why these things happened but he has now been off the medication for about a week. I don’t recommend this medication at all. Read More Read Less

My Son is 10 and was diagnosed with severe ADHD when he was 7. We tried several different stimulant medications and found that Jornay PM caused the least side effects, but after being on it for almost two years and on the second-highest dosage, It became less effective and we notice more and more side effects. He was underweight, and when we stopped the Jornay in July, he's gained 11 pounds and is as healthy as we've ever seen him. But he's struggling very much in school and when he was quarantined two weeks ago we tried Qelbree while he was at home to monitor any side effects. On the first day on 100mg dose, he was extremely lethargic which is not like him at all. By mid-day, he was asleep for three hours. The next day he was in overdrive-euphorically silly, making strange noises, rolling on the ground, and belligerent. He even said that he didn't know why he couldn't stop laughing. Doing homework with him was almost impossible. Over the next five days, this behavior grew worse, and he had vivid nightmares every night. Finally for our family's sake, on day six we stopped the medication and the next day he was his normal self. I'll take my sweet boy with ADHD and not this monster that Qelbree turned him into. Please be careful giving your child this drug.Read More Read Less
