After finally being diagnosed with Sjogren's Syndrome after 12 years of not knowing why I had severe dry eyes and no saliva, Evoxac has worked wonders. It has significantly increased my tears and somewhat for my saliva. I've heard of side effects others have complained about such as dizziness and vision problems, but I'd rather have the tears and saliva than those minor effects.

I've only been on it a little over a month, and started out taking it just 2 times a day, dr & I were concerned about stomach probs, so I decided to do that He said might have stomach 'pain', but it's nausea and loss of appetite I'm noticing, more sweating which was already a problem, but it makes my mouth feel so much better, I don't want to stop. So my questions are - do those side effects somet...

Taking Civemeline 2 months. Stopped dry mouth almost immediately, excess saliva during sleep but that stopped. Took month or so before dry eyes improved. No other side effects, but did notice I cannot miss dose or symptoms come back. No other side effects. If you can manage medication for at least six or more weeks benefits are amazing!

Took for about a yr. Changed insurance & had to stop awhile. The dry mouth and eyes came back & I have a different insurance, so I tried it again. Kicked in pretty fast. Works great for me- only take it twice daily. Only neg. effects: sensitive bladder (already had it, but it got worse) and excess saliva- choke on it at times). And though a little embarrassing to mention, but might help some ladies- so here goes: not only did increase saliva and tears for me, it increased vaginal lubrication. Being over 60, that is appreciated! Read More Read Less

Just realized that most of my symptoms have a cause in Cevimaline. But...great for hydrating mouth..my eyes need more help...increased urination too so be careful about dehydration. Makes talking Great until you realize you're spraying saliva all over. .lol

I started out taking 2x/day even tho Dr suggested 3x/day. I did as recommended & took before meals. Noticed a change in saliva increase within days & am lucky I’ve had no bothersome side effects. I finally increased to the 3x/day about every 7-8 hrs & it works well for me. If I eat before I take it tho, I notice it doesn’t work as well. My nose runs upon occasion & I get too much saliva at times but worth it over the constant dry mouth & eyes!

After taking one pill, I experienced severe dizziness and nausea. I couldn't keep anything in my stomach. I vomited several times and had to go lay down and take a nap. Once I woke up, I felt a bit better. I also experienced excessive sweating. I woke take this medicine. I'll just chew gum and deal with dry mouth.

Although this medicine can help with dry mouth from Sjogrens, it caused me extreme and excessive sweating. I did not know the cause since I took other medicines and had to take the time for the process of elimination by switching my other medicines. My health insurance gave me this generic drug instead of Evoxac which I used to take. Finally found out that it was the Cevimeline when I switched back to the Brand name of the drug Evoxac. No more sweating. DO NOT TAKE CEVIMELINE if you can take Evoxac. Read More Read Less

After being diagnosed with sjogrens, I was so depressed over the dry mouth and horrible breath issues. Rhuemy prescribed Cevimeline HCL 30mg 3x/day. WOW!!!! Now I can speak with out a dry mouth and it even seems to be helping my eyes. I have been on it less than 8 mos, but I have only one side effect-sometimes I get up 2-3x at night to go urinate. The pill seems to create water all over for me. Small price to pay for a normal-feeling mouth and eyes.

So my questions are - do those side effects sometimes go away after a while? And does it really help dry eye too? I'm not noticing improvement there, but read up to 6 weeks for max improvement. Guess I have a ways to go since I'm really just now taking them 3 times a day. Does anyone know the answers to my 2 questions? TIARead More Read Less

this medicine has helped my dry mouth very much, the only thing I am having problems with is a lot of itching and it is terrible, I do not want to give the Med. up plus the Dr. says that isnt a side effect, I am sure it is but I am not sure what to do.
