Bipolar - I took this med for one year with no blood testing. I started experiencing mixed symptoms and asked my doctor if my dosage might need to be adjusted. She then decided that my oxcarbazepine level should be checked along with my sodium. I was not even in the therapeutic range, so my dosage was increased. My sodium was only slightly low. A few weeks later my levels were checked again. ...
He gave me this he is a psychologist and I do not have sezuires.

After trying many other meds, this one finally worked for me. I have very little side effects. I do have to take it on time or I do start to get an "aura". I love to drink water and I have to make sure that I add some beverages with sodium in them or I feel VERY weak and out of it.

I am bi-polar, and have been on this medicine for over two years. It works well, but I have had to add different medicines to keep my mood stabilized and me feeling better. But overall, I like this med. I take 1200mgs twice a day. No side effects (that I know of).

One of three meds that I can tolerate for my epilepsy. Have had wonderful success with this drug. Only bad side effect seems to be that it has caused condition problems with my teeth over the last 7 years.

I had every bad side effect on this medication (5 miscarriages, hair loss, weight gain, etc). It did not control my seizures at all and made me very light-headed.

I use this medcation as a mood stabilizer for bi- polar disorder. I take 1200 mg at night. When I take thid medicine I get a sort of light headed feeling . Enough that I would not think of driving and also why I take at night. I am normally fine by thetime I get up.

I have been on Trileptal for over a year, now, after having a bad experience with Depakote. I take Trileptal for mood stabilization. I tend to be somewhat bipolar and have anxiety with panic disorder. Although I suffer mostly from Major Recurrent Depression, I sometimes get swing into Manic Disorder. After taking the Trileptal, my mood leveled out dramatically. I have had little to no adverse reactions on Trileptal. Depakote caused constant nausea, and food and drink tasted very bad. After my doctor switched me to Trileptal, I regained my appetite, and food and liquids returned to their rightful taste. I love the effects I find in taking Trileptal.Read More Read Less

This drug made my eyesight kind of blur for the first few months, but my body corrected it. I use this drug for bipolar and anxiety induced seizures, and it's amazing. However, if a single dose is missed, it can cause some very heavy side effects. Overall, i love it.

my intestins became so swollen with bile that i spent 4 days with double-up stool softener just to relieve the major pain. i do not recomend this for people with fibromyalgia. my stomach already had stretch marks but this episode taught me doctors need their head examined. He is my psyciatrist. this may be a good drug for siezers but not with out problams.

I have tried a few and, unlike my previous medications, Trileptal did not cause the weight gain and sexual side-effects. It does take some time for the body to adjust to it, but my wife and I have been pleased with the treatment.

My 14 year old daughter is using this medication for simple partial seizures. Over all I'm pleased however I am concerned about het forgetting simple things. Not sure if it is due to the meds. Other than than she has not had any problems.

This drug made me walk in circles for hours. It made me anxious, restless and irritable, not a good choice for me and the fibromyalgia and depression I have. This was prescribed by a psychiatrist
