Bipolar - I took this med for one year with no blood testing. I started experiencing mixed symptoms and asked my doctor if my dosage might need to be adjusted. She then decided that my oxcarbazepine level should be checked along with my sodium. I was not even in the therapeutic range, so my dosage was increased. My sodium was only slightly low. A few weeks later my levels were checked again. ...
He gave me this he is a psychologist and I do not have sezuires.

I take this medication for Trigeminal Neuralgia. It does have uncomfortable side effects but it's certainly better than the pain. Short term memory loss, dizziness and tiredness are the most bothersome. Also lowering of sodium levels.

I take 600 mg. 2x a day for trigeminal neuralgia. I have been on it for the past 4 years. Helps w/my condition. I do have awful short term memory and that is bothersome to me. But how it works for my nerve pain outweighs the memory loss.

I've been on this for about a year and 1/2 and it is calming my racing thoughts...before I got on this, I was taking Risperdal...this incrased my appetite and I gained about 40 pounds.Trileptal worked better for me because my appetite went back to normal.I'm also taking Setraline(generic Zoloft),which I've been on for about two and 1/2 years...they are working well together...I have OCD, and I haven't experienced any unusual sideffects.

I just started taking this med for bipolar (mixed)a week ago. I'm on 300 mg a day.So far I've had a dull headache, and been a bit tired. But it's helping the mania, and mood swings. It's supposed to help the severe swings and help at night with my OCD. I'll stay on it for as long as I can.
