I was prescribed this BC method after my 6 week appointment after birth, since I did not want to go back on the pill and I have no interest in any other BC method. So far it’s been working great it’s been a year since I’ve been using this product. I will say the only time I use it is when I know my husband doesn’t want to do the pull out method. I do get some tingling/tightness in my vagina when I use this product. But the feeling passes in about an hr. Another thing about phexxi though is it slowly drips out of me for what feels like all day and that gets very annoying as I’ll have to wear some panty liners for the day. Read More Read Less

Started using Phexxi in July of 2022 found out I was pregnant in December of 2022. Not effective. Followed the directions diligently.

Started using Phexxi in October 2021. Used it perfectly every time, but managed to get pregnant in April 2022. Stay far away from Phexxi.

Going great. Improved my sexlife, keeps me in control, no hormones, zero co-pay. What's not to like here?

My girlfriend went on phexxi after her gynecologist convinced her it was an effective form of birth control. We followed the instruction and were very keen on using it correctly. We also used natural cycles to keep track of days when we shouldn't have sex but we are expecting a baby now so I'd say it wasn't a very effective birth control.

I used this since I’m breastfeeding and did not want to get udi ( since this is longer term contraception ) and I hated hormonal pills. Plus I was lucky that my insurance covered it !!! Well my husband and I were using phexxi and pulling out so I guess that’s why it worked. A year of using it he did not pull out…. Month later, I find out I’m pregnant. Wouldn’t recommend it to anyone unless you also use another form of contraception.

Love it! I’m almost 44 and this has been perfect for us. No more hormones or condoms! Just be careful and add something else like pullout on your fertile days.

I have horrible side effects to hormonal birth control so decided to give this a shot. I am very sure it was used correctly and always well within the 1 hour timeframe. After 4 months of use I got pregnant. I do not recommend.

I cannot take hormonal BC for health reasons and asked my Dr.abiut Phexxi. It's been a year and so far so good! It's easy to use and I have not experienced any irritation. My Dr. Told to make sure we use with another form of BC. We use with withdrawal method. This is not an ideal method for people who can use hormones but for us that can't...it's great. I get for free with my insurance.

I tried Phexxi after going through countless other kinds of birth control. I'm so glad I found it. It's been super easy to use and effective, and I haven't had any side effects. I asked my doctor to help with the pre-authorization form my insurance required to cover it, so it's now fully covered and free for me. Definitely worth giving it a try if you're on the fence!

I was prescribed Phexxi January 18th and got pregnant January 28th, only a couple of uses and I am pregnant. I used Phexxi according to directions, I was diligent in making sure I used it properly.

I just had a baby 10 months ago so I was not looking to have another one right now. I used Phexxi because I have a clotting disorder which makes other birth control dangerous for me to use. I recently found out I was pregnant and I am positive I used Phexxi correctly. It worked well for about 8 months though, our luck just ran out with it lol.

I used it 2 times and got pregnant. I quit my traditional pill birth control because I was forgetful taking them and was not really interested in trying different hormonal birth controls. Needless to say, I regret trying phexxi.

My girlfriend and I have been using Phexxi for 3 months with success- we're a couple that has relied on the rhythm method with condoms for 2weeks of the fertile portions of the cycle. We took a very scientific approach to using it after seeing a number of failures of the product. Our initial uses started with a lot of PH testing. Not only did we take before and after PH test of insertion of the product, but we also tested our favorite lube. The first thing we realized is that we shouldn't use any lubricant with this product (astroglide) as it is very base would likely dilute and reduce the efficacy of Phexxi. We're not sure if this might have led to some of the failures mentioned in the poor reviews, but realized it might be a factor. We PH tested her before/after with the first several use of the product to ensure she hit a PH level below 4.5 before proceeding. As an added precaution, we're still avoiding her most fertile days with the idea that even if some of my swimmers survive, they won't survive as long after exposure to Phexxi. After 3 months we're cautiously optimistic and paying attention to any changes we might make that might impact its efficacy. One positive side effect we noticed is that we're both a bit more sensitive when we use it- which has enhanced the overall experience- things are just a bit more intense.
