The medication does work but it puts you to sleep. It doesn't help when you're working and have things to take care of. I can only take it when I'm home.

I've suffered with migraines for 35 years. I can no longer take triptans as the only one that worked was Imitrex, and I overused it and it no longer works. My new neurologist prescribed this. I had a migraine start, and I took it immediately with no relief, and took a second dose two hours later. I didn't have any side effects, but no relief, either. I'll try it again, but I'm not holding out...

I’ve suffered from 3 different types of migraines since I was 7 years old. I’ve tried every preventative and medication under the sun except Botox and Nurtec and Ubrelvy seems to work every time. I’ve been takin it for about a year, sometimes I have to double the dose after 30 minutes if it’s bad. It does give me nausea but I am able to at least function while on it. I can also get groggy the day after but it sure beats the migraine any day.

It seemed to work, however it made me so tired and weak I missed work a few times which was the opposite of what I needed.

This medication is a joke for anxiety and depression. If your doctor prescribes it for such, tell them don't bother. It's wasting the pharmacist time to fill it.

I've had migraines since I was 17 years old, I am almost 47 now, so 30 years. I've tried everything, and have been on Zomig for 20 years. Zomig elevates my BP and causes severe rebound headaches, sometimes after only one doze. I can't take it. Tried Ubrelvy. First four times it didn't do much. Then another four times, it cured my migraine. If you are struggling to see relief from this medication, these might be the reasons: 1. You are actually NOT having a migraine. Truly. It will NOT help with a tension headache, high BP headache, rebound headache from another medication. 2. You take it too late. Once you've deceloped a full blown migraine, it may take up to 2.0-2.5 hours to kick in, and relief may not be 100%. Once I figured it out, it works like a charm. You're not supposed to take it often, but this medication doesn't seem to put me in rebound mode. Read More Read Less

This is the.only. drug that has worked for me. I have tried every preventative, every other abortive medication under the sun and some things help a time or two, and their efficacy wanes. I've even had Botox and nerve blocks to no avail. The first...dozen or so times I took Ubrelvy, like another reviewer, it knocked me out, so what was the point? But, after that, for whatever reason, I no longer have that side effect. I genuinely wish this was not $1000+ for 10 pills because I'm about to lose my insurance and with no programs that I can find, I am not sure how I will function without it. 4 stars for ease of use because they can be a beast to swallow.Read More Read Less

Take it immediately at the first sign of a migraine, it does take some time to work at least for me. It will usually stop the migraine at best or at least stop the severity but does not last as long as stated. I’ve had little side effects mainly a little diarrhea the next morning. As far as migraine meds with side effects to me this has been the best. I’ve suffered migraines since I was 27 imitrex was the drug prescribed all the time. I have a heart condition and the side effects caused me to stop using it. I’m pleased overall just wished a 30 day supply was more than 16 pills. I’ve used 10 in 3 weeks. Read More Read Less

I came here to see if anyone else had the symptoms I had when taking this medication. It took me a while to connect the dots, but I'm 100% sure this medication causes me to have severe stomach pain and diarrhea. I didn't pick up on the connection at first, because it's always hours after taking the medicine, but I've done some tracking to make sure since I started to notice there could be a connection. I'm now certain this medicine triggers these symptoms. As far as treating the migraine, it was pretty hit or miss for me. I almost always had to take the second dose, after 2 hours. Sometimes that knocked my migraine out. Other times it was as if I took nothing at all. After 25 yrs of migraines and headaches, I've found TRULY tracking and eliminating triggers is the best defense for me, personally. So many of our migraines are self triggered, and most times we don't realize it because simple every day things can be the culprit. We tend to overlook these tasks, foods, drinks, other medications, as potential triggers, but I've found and eliminated many triggers over the yrs. Caffeine, squinting, too much sugar, alcohol, screen time, etc... etc... etc... I encourage people to do a true evaluation of their day to day tasks, and intake, and really try to reduce or eliminate things they see patterns with. I still have migraines, but over the years I've reduced these by at least 65% by taking responsibility for my triggers and getting rid of as many as possible. Read More Read Less

Usually with the first dose of Ubrelvy my migraine will be gone within an hour. If the first dose does not work the second dose has almost always worked for me. No side effects. No drowsiness or drugged feeling the next day.

Gave me the worst side effects ever! My dr recommended that I take another dose in two hours after the initial one but I couldn’t simply wait. The pain along with the side effects were unbearable!!

I’ve suffered from migraines since my early teenage years. I was starting to get a migraine while at the doctors office before a procedure and my doctor gave me a trial of this medicine while I was there and my migraine was gone within half an hour!! Now I take it when I feel a migraine coming on and am relieved when it doesn’t lead to any excruciating pain and vomiting within 2 hours. This medication has been a literal lifesaver. I’m no longer petrified and in tears when I feel one coming on. It is very expensive, but, I’m my case, it’s 100% worth it. Read More Read Less

I had to take 2 tablets, I took them 3 hours apart. My pain was gone in 30 minutes after the 2nd dose but ubrelvy did not prevent the the foggy head that I get after a migraine .

I’m another sumatriptan abuser; it works if I take it early but the migraine tends to come back the next day so I take it again and before I know it I’m in rebound territory (prednisone is the only thing that gets me out of that cycle, or dealing with a full-blown migraine with no medication until it wears itself out). Anyway, my doctor prescribed Ubrelvy as an alternative to sumatriptan as a result of this cycle. Overall I’ve been pleased with it so far (other than the price…$80 for 5 pills). I’ve had to take a full dose the three times I’ve used it, but it’s been effective even once the migraine kicked in (which triptans aren’t). As others here have said, it doesn’t always completely stop the migraine, but it does dial it way back without the side-effects of a triptan. If you can afford it (or if your insurance is better than mine), I’d definitely recommend trying it.Read More Read Less

As a migraine sufferer for 20 years this drug is a miracle for me. Other than some very mild drowsiness not long after taking, I've had zero issues. I can even take this several hours after onset and it still manages to knock my migraines out. Way better for ME than the usual Triptans.

First dose didn't do a thing except for feeling nauseous. Took the 2nd dose 2 hours after. Not a thing changed. Except the feeling of nausea. I just dont know what to do next. These migraines are just debilitating.

This medication is also a game changer for myself. In the past I've had a migraine last up to 3/4 days, bedridden, dark room, ice packs on my head... I take this and it's gone within 30 mins and actually gives me a boost of energy afterwards.

My doctor recommended trying as an alternative to Imitrex. It was a terrible experience. I became so nauseous that I literally couldn't move and was sick in bed all day. Couldn't eat or drink anything. It may work for some but I will not be taking it again.
