Oxervate caused severe pain. When I contacted Dompe, the manufacturer, their pharmacist told me it should subside within 1-2 weeks and to keep using uninterrupted. After four weeks still the most severe pain I have ever felt in my life. My cornea specialist told me that he had four patients who started the drug and all four were unable to complete treatment due to pain. I was in so much pain t...

Last week I finished my 8 weeks 2X every 6 hrs in both eyes. In the first 3rd times I started feeling the pain in my eye balls like someone punched me….and that remained the entire time and got even worse as time went by. I learned to live with it. After the 5th week my eye lids got very dry and itchy and a bit swollen. 3 days after I finished the 8 weeks the eye ball pain went away !!!!!! But the dryness and itchy on the eye lids is still there. :(. I Never had that before. My vision was never impaired or fuzzy…..I am an 80 mile + cyclist and it never hurt me or impaired my cycling. The Cust Service people and the Pharmacists were always very helpful with all the questions I had. And at first I had lots. My shipments arrived perfect every 2 weeks. DOMPE is a very professional Company. I go back to my Dr and we will see if the Keratitis has improved. My dry eyes are still there and also the foreign object is there :( maybe not as often but is still there :(. I will continue with my Dry eyes drops. Good luck and DO NOT GIVE UP!!!!! My experience has been excellent so far. Ended 8 week program three weeks ago. Doc saw some improvement but need more time to know for sure. The only 'side effect was I felt bruised at eye socket like punched. I only felt this when touching my face near eyes. Other than that I was fine. I am grateful to all involved. Fingers crossed my ending will be a success as well. Top notch companies as Dompe and Accredo made all easy. What wonderful, caring group of great customer service reps they have acquired. Deliveries were communicated to ensure I was aware of delivery times. If you are unfortunate to get prescribed Oxervate, the experience should be smooth.Read More Read Less

I am starting week 6 with the eye drops, up until now my side effects were not bad. I had tenderness around the eyes as if someone punched me. Currently the pain I have is burning, blurry vision & light sensitivity. The previous side effects were easy to deal with but these new ones are painful. I did have a 4 week follow up with my eye doctor and she said can finally see my cornea, I have a follow up on 12/4 and hope to be done with these.

I had a large ulcer in my right eye and 2 1/2 layers of my cornea had melted. My doctor had tried everything to help my eye heal: every drop imaginable, inserting a protective membrane over my cornea to promote healing, sewing my eye 75% shut, nothing was working. We finally got approval to try oxervate, and it was a Godsend. After 6 1/2 weeks, my cornea had completely healed! I finished the 8 week cycle and could not be happier that I finally have hope of seeing again. The refrigeration of the medicine, and having to fill pipettes, and set an alarm to make sure I took it every 2 hours is hard. It certainly requires dedication. But it is so so worth it. I could not be more pleased with the pharmacy Acredo and with the grant I was able to receive to help me pay for this miracle medicine. Highly recommend. Read More Read Less

I am on my 2nd Week of using this in both eyes. I think as long as I use this only with my Autoglous Serum tears I am okay. I tried using my Bio true and Cequa with these drops and my eyes get very irritated and burn. I’m just going to try and use the Oxervate and my Serum tears and will give my feedback again next week.

I took Oxervate for 8 weeks every 2 hours. I'm 64 years old. It was PAINFUL, I took 2 tylenols (650 MG each) every 4 to 6 hours and used hot and cold compressions because I complain about the pain to my ophthalmologist, unfortunately he doesn't prescribe pain killers. The side effects were that after over a month of finishing the treatment at night, I get sharp pain in my eye. Did it work? No. I think it has been a setback.

My doctor prepared me for the risk of increased eye pain. After 2 weeks on the therapy, it became a routine that I found easy to maintain. The benefits of improved sensation and ability to protect my eye from random foreign bodies are priceless. Accredo pharmacy offers incredible customer service.

Iâ??m on week 5 and the pain from light sensitivity is excruciating. I canâ??t look toward light/go out in sunlight. Not able to tell if any improvement because one of the side effects is blurred vision. Canâ??t get in to see my doctor because sheâ??s on maternity leave from Baylor Medical - youâ??d think theyâ??d have her patients referred. Almost impossible to travel because of refrigeration requirement. Dr.â??s ASSISTANT dropped my dosage to 4 times a day just recently to see if helps with light sensitivity. Doesnâ??t. And I now have a headache during the night EVERY nightRead More Read Less
