Well, I'm not pregnant, I lost 12 pounds, my skin looks so much better, increased sex drive, and lighter periods. Seriously, the best bc I've ever been on.

i started birth control when i was 15 it was supposed to help my cramps. at 16 i ended up with numerous blood clots in my legs lungs and in my arms, my family and was told to come and say goodbye to me because i only had a ten percent chance to live. thankfully i mad it but being 16 and hearing this is probably the end of your life was so hard.

I have been on this for almost two years and the pros of this include almost non existent acne and not getting pregnant. Cons are reacurring yeast infections, excessive weight gain (50lbs) and impossible weight loss and not much in my routine has changed at all since starting, dental issues, anxiety, depression, loss of sex drive, anger issues and more that Iâ??m sure Iâ??m forgetting. Iâ??ve recently come off hormonal birth control and my family has commented that I seem more myself than I have in a long time.Read More Read Less

I have been on Apri for about 3 years, and I am considering getting off birth control completely now. I have slowly turned into a moody, up-tight person and it has caused problems with my relationship. I get extremely angry, or will start crying about minor problems. The pill itself was effective, I did not have any pregnancy scares. I do believe that my sex drive DECREASED.

I used to be on aviane and switched to apri, as I told my doctor I noticed my thick hair was thinning. Especially my hairline, but it is easy to cover up since I have longer hair. Overall, both of these have helped prevent me from getting pregnant. But one side effect I have noticed is mood swings and depression, I am so irritable and get really emotional. I try so hard not to lose my cool, but I find myself crying and frustrated.I don't know if it's just my personality and that I work a high stress job, but I just break down very frequently--not sure if it is due to birth control but it could be associated. I remember a time when I used to never break down before birth control. In terms of my period, it is better regulated. I used to have the worst cramps for days and would get dizzy spells but after going on b.c, it has all been resolved. Used to have very heavy periods now lasting only 3-4 days max but not as heavy. I used to have cystic acne and would have lots of breakouts, but going on both types of b.c has helped regulate my skin. I have a few blemishes here and there before period time, but overall it has stayed clear. I just want to know if anyone else is experiencing emotional disorders with these drugs.Read More Read Less

Apri prevents pregnancy however, for me it promotes anxiety, depression, and mood swings. I'm 20 and have been on Apri for 9 months now and it is the first form of birth control I've taken. Extreme dryness has occurred to the point where I get yeast infections in between every period--low sex drive because of this. My anxiety has gone through the roof a long side of depression. I have begun to hate the world that I live in and am very sad all the time. My periods start with an orange yeasty mixture and the next few days are followed with a lot of blood and heavy cramping. I just want to get back to me again. Switching is scary because I don't want to experience any other form of these symptoms or other symptoms you all have experienced on different pills. I'm thinking of exploring other options or dropping birth control entirely to get back to me again :)Read More Read Less

it gets the job done. my first month on it i had my period for 2 weeks. I experienced getting yeast infections every month right before my period started. it also made me dry down there closer to the time of getting my period. no ance issues, gained very little weight.

Before Apri, I was taking Ortho tri cyclen for about 4 years. I was having trouble losing weight, I had terrible migraines 3-4 times a week (and before my period I'd get one that lasted for 3 days) and overall I just felt moody and lazy. I've been on Apri now for 3 months and I'm liking it so far! I've been losing weight (slowly, but after years of staying the same high weight I'm happy haha) I no longer get terrible migraines, and my period only lasts 4 days or so. I will say I do feel like I have a lower sex drive, and I do get irritable over minor things especially towards my period starting. But overall I'm very happy with Apri for now!Read More Read Less

It has helped with bad cramps and back pain associated with my period. Also its nice to be regular to the day! Cons- I also went on the pill to see if it would help with my mood/pms. Honestly, I feel like its worse and I've only been on it a few months; considering switching meds

There has only been one occasion where this birth control has failed me. I have been on this pill since I was 18 and I am now 26. The only issue I have is that it makes me severely sick to my stomach, a I vomit very half hour or so for a couple hours.

I've taken apri for about 2 years now. No crazy side effects I noticed mood changes and increase appetite the week before my period would start. I consider that to be normal for me as when I stopped taking BC I had the same thing going on. However the biggest down side is low low sex drive and dryness that I never experienced before. It's to the point that I can get cuts surrounding my lips.

Apri was great in the first three months...but then everything changed. My skin was so clear after suffering from acne for ten years. However, the weight gain, anxiety, depression, no sex drive, and vaginal dryness that creeped up after three months were too much to bare. After month 6 my doctor switched me to Cryselle which caused a terrible rash and cystic acne.

I was switched from Loestrin 21 to Apri a few months back because my periods were irregular and my doc thought Apri would be better for me. I like that there's placebo pills in Apri cause I was awful at taking 21 day packs. The first couple months were a little tough adjusting to the higher dose of hormones. I was super emotional! But that's normal. I'm on month 5 now and things are fine. I'm still a little emotional, but only "cry at something dumb" emotional. Nothing I can't handle. My periods are light and I barely have any pain. Close to no acne. My boobs seemed to have grown a bit, so that's cool. My sex drive seems to be a tiny bit lower, but I never had a crazy high sex drive in the first place. My husband and I still have a healthy sex life. I might have gained like 5 pounds or less but that might be because of my lazy ass and not the birth control :) best of all, I haven't gotten pregnant! I recommend Apri. Give it a chance and let yourself adjust to the hormones. Read More Read Less

I was on Apri for 3 months. I was taking Apri for my cysts on my ovaries. I became moodier, depressed, bad headaches, and I had longer and heavier periods. Apri just didn't work for my body.

I had been having breakthrough bleeding on prev pill, so my OBGYN prescribed Apri, thinking the hormone formulation would help. It seemed to for the first cycle, but since then (2.5 cycles later), I've had spotting. I've also experienced depressive symptoms and low sex drive. Very much considering taking a break from HBC to get back in touch with what I feel like without it (I've been on some form of HBC for 4 years).

Of course it is effective but I had one major side effect that is a complete deal breaker for me. I have normal skin with the regular monthly breakouts, but nothing major. I gave this pill a try and it made me break out like I have never seen before. Day two of this pill I literally woke up with broils (two which is more than enough)on my cheeks and temple. The day after I did not take the pill, it instantly got better. I went back to my other pills the remaining of the month but decided to give it another shot the following (thinking it could have been something else) and the same thing happened again on day 2. Great for doing what its supposed to but my skin did not adjust well to it.Read More Read Less

I have been on Apri since I was 16 (I am now 22). The first few months on the pill I felt very sick but once my body adjusted I have been fine since with the occasional tender breasts. I have always had irregular periods and still do even on Apri, I don't get cramps, breakouts or bloating before a period just a headache that lasts a few hours. The only thing I have a problem with is remembering to take the pills at the correct time. I reccomend this to anyone looking for a birth control.

I resorted to this brand of birth control because my previous one did not prevent my periods from happening at times that they were not supposed to. Anyways, I have not had any problems with this brand of birth control and it does control the bleeding.

At first, this pill felt like the best thing that had happened to my life, no more bad cramps, no acne, and a decrease in mood swings- but then a year went by and I gained over 30 lbs despite burning upwards of 700 calories a day and no change in diet. Since I am a competitive collegiate swimmer, gaining 30 lbs not only effected my confidence but also my overall performance in swimming. So, basically, I called my doctor the second I realized that it was the pill causing this... horrible pill for me.Read More Read Less
