I’m experiencing random spotting from a previous birth control so my doctor put me on Balcoltra. The spotting wasn’t as heavy but it didn’t go away. If it worked for me then I would have continued taking it but I will stop. Fair warning…this birth control was going to cost me $300 PER PACK WITH HEALTH INSURANCE. It’s insanely expensive! Now, there is a coupon on the Balcoltra website which lowers ...

I started having heavier periods a year ago and they became very painful to the point where I would skip work or class. I was on ibuprofen to control the pain but got an ulcer from that so then I was prescribed Balcoltra. I didn't even make it a week before I felt terrible. I felt tired all the time and all I wanted to do was sleep, but I couldn't sleep. My doctor said to take the pill at night to...

The first month I only had a bit of breakthrough bleeding and that was it, the second month I have been crying almost daily, had a panic attack for the first time in 3 years, have suicidal ideation when I didn't struggle with that when on my past birth control, and have had the worst, most disgusting thick brown bloody discharge for a week before my actual period was supposed to start, as well as consistent painful cramping the entire week before. I have had a feeling of not being able to control my emotions, and getting this overwhelming sense of doom whenever something goes wrong. I have had more suicidal ideation and self harm urges on this birth control then I have had with the 4 previous ones I have been on and it is absolutely terrifying, DO NOT TAKE THIS IF YOU ARE ALREADY STRUGGLING WITH DEPRESSION!!!!! I felt tired all the time and all I wanted to do was sleep, but I couldn't sleep. My doctor said to take the pill at night to sleep through the nauseousness but regardless I would wake up and vomit in the middle of the night. I felt unmotivated which was hard being in college. The worst part was I was very emotional and would just randomly cry. My brain felt foggy and I knew this was the complete opposite of myself! I stopped after a week because I didn't want the side effects to get any worse.Read More Read Less

Balcoltra birth control pills. This medicine started off good with my body. All of a sudden, I'm bleeding 18 days straight, bloated, cramping, moody, full of gas, migraines throughout the entire 3 months of taking this medicine, and very sore nipples.
