I was terrified about prepping my bowel for my first colonoscopy. I have a phobia about feeling nausea and of vomiting. I also have a hard time drinking unpleasant things. I have to say that all of my anxiety was blown way out of proportion. The amount of medication that needed to be consumed was quite small and very manageable. The liquid is thin and clear and the taste was not bad - it remi...

This Clenpiq is by far the best prep for colonoscopy. No cramps. No nausea, the taste is no so great but with a white grape chaser it's doable. The other stuff called Suprep ought to be outlaw because of the taste and quantity that you have to drink.

Terrible experience. First bottle made me incredibly nauseous; threw up the second bottle. Doctor cancelled the procedure b/c bowel was not cleansed. Bowels are still liquified a day later. I’m hoping I’ll recover soon from this nightmare.

Clenpiq did what it was supposed to do. I have no complaints. The second dose acted more quickly after taking, and completed in plenty of time for me to make a 45 minute drive to the surgery center for my appointment. I would ask for it next time.

I ate plain pasta for two days (Tuesday and Wednesday) before my cleanse day on Thursday. I took 8mg Ondasetron before my first dose and my second dose to help with nausea. I alternated one sip of Clenpiq with one sip of BodyArmor Mango flavor. Clenpiq was so easy to use and was not thick like the other preps. I drank Mango flavored BodyArmor before, during and after my cleanse. This was my third colonoscopy and the least traumatic by far even though I was up most of the night as the cleanse did it's job. Highly recommend! Read More Read Less

I wouldn't recommend this for anyone and those with a sensitive gut or previous incidents with low salt problems. Had to stop using after 1st bottle because of headache, nausea and heart palpitations. Called Dr. At 2:30 am to express my concern about a 2nd bottle, and she said to stop taking it, hydrate, and eat and cancel the appointment. Still having some symptoms of nausea, cramping, and headache periodically a week later. Way too strong for use. Will ask next time for the easiest med for a sensitive gut. Doctors should be inquiring and offering an alternative prep, instead of a "one size fits all" drug with these kinds of side effects. Why put people through this unecessarily?Read More Read Less

I am 72 years old and have never had a colonoscopy before. Due to a bad report from a lab test, my doctor recommended a colonoscopy. My colonoscopy was scheduled for noon on Monday. I started my prep at 5:00 pm on Sunday. I drank some tea and had jello for breakfast. Drank chicken broth, water, and ate jello all day. I took my first ClenPiq dose at 5:00 and drank 8 oz of water afterward, with 8 oz every hour thereafter and plenty in between. Nothing happened until 10:00 or so and very little after that. I took my second dose at 6:00 am and started drinking 8 oz cups of water. My doctor called and asked for me to come early for my procedure, so I did. The second dose never really kicked in and I told the nurse, but she assured me it would be fine. I was hooked up to an IV and when they took my blood pressure, it was 206/99! It kept going up until it reached 233/101. They tried to bring it down, but could not, so they told my husband to take me to the nearest emergency room where I stayed until 7:30 that night until my blood pressure went down to 167/88. On the way to the emergency room, I had projectile vomiting, along with exploding diarrhea. I had a splitting headache which stayed with me throughout the entire ordeal. (It's been 14 hours since I was released from the hospital and it still lingers.) It was one of the most harrowing experiences of my life. In truth, I really thought I was either going to have a massive stroke or I was going to die. I'm at home now and still cramping and a bit nauseous with a dull, throbbing headache. I'm not sure if I can ever do that again colonoscopy or no colonoscopy!Read More Read Less

Horrible prep experience! Miralax mixed with juice is a much better method that works much faster. This was torture! The bottle says cranberry flavor but this tasted nasty.

Small dosage quantity is offset by the worst prep product devised by pharma. The consumption duration is from 2PM to 2AM (12 hrs.) Movement urgency is almost undetectable therefore accident prone. Output totally liquified and uncontrollable over body and fixtures. The product activity does NOT cease in a binary fashion (on/off). In my instance the activity continued 24 hours following the colonoscopy. I spoke with my Internist and suggested that charges of reckless endangerment be brought against Ferring Pharma and their Swiss manufacturer.Read More Read Less

The positive is the bottle shape and flavoring. That's it. It took hours before onset and then it dragged on. My insurance made me use this as it would not cover Suprep any longer. I will pay out of pocket the next time. Suprep works in 30 minutes and done within 2 hours. With Clenpiq I wasn't even fully clear after the entire prep.

I had colonoscopy due to Cologuard(+). Doc recommend pill form Sutab for bowel prep. Since I have trouble in swallowing big pills, I requested liquid form and got Clenpiq. I like the taste. My appt was 7:30am. I was told to take 1st dose at 5pm and 2nd dose at 2:30am. Since I had a last minute appt (notified me 3 days ahead), I had no time to be well prepared. I started low fiber diet right away (be sure to search what are low fiber food, not what I assumed), then clear liquid the day before. I took 1st dose at 4pm, didn't have any result until 8:30pm (4.5 hrs after drinking Clenpiq, I was panic). Then I kept running stained watery stool til 12:30am. I was exhausted, and took 2nd dose at 1am (worried bowel won't be cleaned) Running until 3am. Got 1.5 hrs sleep. Finally I got clear water out, it means bowel prep was successful (doc proved). I had 8mm and 15mm polyps. I kicked myself not having Colonoscopy earlier (I'm 58, 1st time test.) I did have chill and nausea for 20 min(3 hrs after 1st dose) subsided by lying on bed and kept breathing."Read More Read Less

I was terrified to have this test. I heard so many bad stories about the prep on reviews. I could not believe how untrue these were for me. The clenpiq container is only 5.? Ounces. It went down fast. I had the first bottle done in 5 minutes and followed up with the water over 2 hours. Did the same in the morning. No bad reactions whatsoever. The taste was okay. Sweet and very doable. No nausea. No sickness whatsoever. Diarrhea was not overwhelming either no pain, no gas. Repeat in the am same procedure. This is a great product. Stored in refrigerator from the day before using. Don’t be afraid. I highly recommend this product and would have no fear repeating this again if I had to. Read More Read Less

Had a very difficult time opening the containers. You have to turn the cap way more than any bottle I've ever opened, and I've opened a lot of bottles. Taste and texture were pretty bad: I was afraid was going to throw up. Glad the nurse warned me to sip it slowly and alternate with tea or broth. Based on what was the toilet bowl, I didn't get a full clean-out. Doc said it was okay, though.

I do NOT recommend this product. After being on clear liquids, driving 8 hours, spending the night in a hotel, it did NOT work. I followed the instructions, read all these negative reviews. It was easy to drink with a straw, started at 5 pm, came on very slow, kept me up till 11:30 going every 15 minutes. Woke up at 5 am to start second dose, so it disrupts your sleep. I did not feel totally clear. Did 2 fleets enemas. Doctor said I was not clear and it made the procedure difficult and took longer. You can not have a good test without a clear prep. I have had 6 prior scopes, never had a problem like this. Now 9 pm at night after the procedure and I keep going to the bathroom. Not sure why doctors are ordering this prep. Read More Read Less

I've had about a dozen colonoscopys and used different prep methods. This is by far the worst experience I've ever had. It doesn't taste great, but that's to be expected and I can get past that. Not only did it cause sharp abdominal pain and severe bloating, but I'm about 36 hours from taking the last dose and I'm still running to the toilet. After taking the first dose at 1pm, I was up all night. That's never happened with any other prep I've used. I'm now on day 2 with only an hour or so of sleep because the medicine won't stop "working." I don't have an appetite either and that's not normal for me. Absolutely terrible experience and I wouldn't wish this on anyone.Read More Read Less

Clenpiq comes in two small bottles. My prep began on a Sunday evening when I had to stop eating, then I took my first bottle at about 7PM on Monday evening. After taking the first bottle, you must drink 5 8-ounce glasses of water over four hours. It starts working a couple of hours after you drink the first bottle and from then on you will evacuate any solids that are in your bowel. After about four hours, it will be mostly liquids you’re evacuating. I was up all night doing that, with very little sleep. I had to take the second bottle at 7AM the Tuesday morning of my procedure, which was scheduled for 3PM, and was supposed to drink another 4 8-ounce glasses of water over four hours. That’s when the problems really started. I drank the second bottle at 6AM Tuesday morning and an 8-ounce glass of water, then laid down to try and get some sleep. Not long after, I became violently ill. I tried my best to keep it down, but there was no way. I spent the hours leading up to my procedure vomiting and evacuating. My heart rate increased to a high level and when they ultimately took my blood pressure at the endoscopy center, it was 161/95. I have never registered a BP that high before. I also had a headache and almost got to the point that I was going to cancel the procedure. The truth is, I think all the prep I needed was done by the first bottle, because the colonoscopy went well, and the doctor said my prep was excellent. So, having “lost” the second bottle, I really saw no need for it. I was perfectly fine up until taking that second bottle, when all heck broke loose. Read More Read Less

I am a 58 yr old female 5’7” 124 lbs healthy eater and hydrated. I have used the other Oreos that feel like waterboarding torture, so I was excited about this. Do not take Clenpiq if your bowels are slow like mine or you have had any issues with your kidneys from previous UTI’s. I started part 1 at 2 pm and nothing started to happen until 6 pm The evening was fine and I had a slight headache. Because I realized I would be in trouble if I started part 2 at the recommend 4 am for my 9 am colonoscopy, I decided to start part 2 at 2 am. It took me 1-1/2 hours to start. Then as I was continuing to hydrate I felt nausea so I walked around and overcame until I could no longer. My left kidney was in pain from the solution and I was shivering cold and nauseous. I believe my kidney was reacting to the solution and that caused the vomiting. So at 5 am, although my movements were not clear yet, I stopped drinking water because I couldn’t keep it down. I laid down for a couple of hours then ran out of time to drink. I was horrified that I might have to go to Urgent care for my pain and trouble with the prep. I overcame and around 7:30 my kidney pains reduced. So I sipped a couple sips, even though I was not supposed to at this point. When I got to the appt I told them what happened and then took an enema. All was clear, so it works, but it made me so sick and it was the prep from hell. I had 3 colonoscopies in the last 2 years so I thought this would be a better option than the large gallon they usually give you (waterboarding). I will go back to that and be avoiding Clenpiq for my situation. If they list slow digestion, etc and the side effects on the package, they mean it!Read More Read Less

Easy to take. Small bottle was easy to drink. Not the best flavor cranberry. It had a bit of a salty aftertaste but drinking a little regular juice afterward did the trick. I drank much more clear liquid than the doctors instructions. i interpreted it as minimum amount and probably drank about 60 ounces of water after the first bottle. Had to wait about 3 hours or so for things to start to move. I had plenty of warning to get to the bathroom. Not like the PEG preps which I have found to be kind of a violent onset. Second bottle was taken at about 9:30 pm with roughly 40 ounces of water. Was all done at about 3:30 AM. with clear liquid coming out. Totally cleaned out. No cramps, gas, other unpleasantness. I would use this again because it worked well and I didn't have to chug the gallon of PEG Gatoraid. Once you have downed the bottles it is water or apple juice to hydrate. Pretty pleasant and not hard to do. Read More Read Less
