Having read many threads on this forum I havn`t read any from users who also suffer with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) so I thought it might be helpful to share my experience as I have had IBS since my late teens. I am 64 now. I started as most people do with a weekly injection of .25 mg to start my body to get used to Ozempic. I thought at first that I had no side effects. This was not quite cor...

the "instructions" state that I take .25mg for 1st week and then .5mg thereafter. The graduations on the pen show nothing but dashes until you reach 1mg. the instructions also state that you can only take 1mg with this pen. wtf?

My husband was prescribed Ozempic for Type 2 diabetes. We were told what a great medication it is, and were excited to try it. My husband took the first .25 dose and for the next two weeks he had vomiting and diarrhea. The vomiting has subsided, but four weeks later, he still has diarrhea and nausea DAILY. PLEASE BE CAUTIOUS BEFORE YOU TAKE THIS MEDICATION, IT IS NOT FOR EVERYONE

My husband had a liver transplant and experienced some issues with steroid induced diabetes. After a few months they wanted to wean him off of the insulin and talked to us about Ozempic and what an amazing drug it is. We were very excited about it. He took the first .25 shot on a Wednesday afternoon at 5 p.m. and by Friday morning he had vomiting and diarrhea. There was food that he ate on Wednesday that was coming up Friday. He was very ill for 2 solid weeks. We took him to the emergency room and they hydrated him with IV fluids and also did CT scan of abdomen, blood work, etc., and they found nothing, confirming that the only thing different was the Ozempic. They found nothing! He had one day that was good, then again with the diarrhea for another week. Four weeks and counting with symptoms. Read More Read Less

My Doctor started me out at .25 for four weeks then up to .50 every thing is going OK. But some thing I noticed was my back was not as sore. As it had been for 9 years. And cut my pain medication in half.. I don't know why but I'll take the relief. Go to see my doctor in 8 weeks . Some web sites say it can help with back pain. Hoping to get off all pain medication..

Dr suggested i try Ozempic or Trulicity because increased BMI. started @ .25 then .50, 1.0 I was nauseated, vomiting, sick, typical side effects that eventually disappeared after 3-4 mos. Dr B. (endocrinologist) denied any relation.I have type 2 diabetes and was bmi was 28. I’ve been on 20 months. lost total 20 lbs. then my hair started falling out a lot, my normal depression went to severe. I started researching and found hair loss can be related. Dr B. said no relation (NR). then at month 23, I experienced severe stomach pain that lasted 24 hrs. nothing otc worked. I notified Dr.B. “NR”. I did more research; it can effect & cause gallbladder, mood swings, liver, pancreatitis etc problems. I notified Dr.B, guess what; “NR”. I shot off a serious portal message to him. He ordered bloodwork & ultrasound. Bloodwork was fine; However, the ultrasound found gallstones & the same Dr recommended gallbladder removal! more research, gallbladder is important. I told him i want the medication that helps rid the stones or laser treatment. I’ve been referred to Hepatology. He still denies any relationship. Pay attention to your body, ask lots of questions, get response in writing. I’m off it for 3 weeks. My night munching has returned & craving sweets. Idk. i may return to a lower dose if gallstones can be removed w/o surgery. I will defer to Hepatologist. I NOW know I will gain back all my weight over time, per the Dr B. (sad, maybe he gets a kickback on rx?) idk. gonna look for another endocrinologist after all this is resolved. Read More Read Less

I started with the .25 dose for four weeks and am now on my third week at .5. In that time span I have lost 15 pounds. The first couple of weeks I did get mild nausea but nothing to severe. It does seem to help control my appetite as I feel full after eating about half of what I used to at meals. My concern is that my blood sugar numbers are out of whack. I was on metformin and glipizide and my morning reading was usually between 120 and 140 and my A1c was at 6.8. My doctor took me off the glipizide and now my numbers have ranged from 108 to 211 in the morning. I have seen at least one review that said it can take up to 8-10 weeks for ozempic to start to control blood sugar. I am wondering if anyone else has found this to be true.Read More Read Less

It was awful! Yes, it usually normalizes my husband's glucose but he experienced many times of fainting or passed out! I've been telling his primary care but didn't believe me huhu so I decided that my husband should stop it and after three months he stopped fainting! Be careful have a second opinion!

Took injection, .25 for four weeks. Experienced horrible side effects of nausea, constipation, stomach pain, blurriness, bloating, burping, indigestion. No vomiting. Very disappointed I was given this drug. Be very aware of these severe side effects.

After 5 weeks on the .25 dose I went on to the .5 does. Immediately had severe joint pains in both hands and knees. It was so bad that it took pain pills to get through the day. I tried to wait it out and see if my body adjusted but it was too debilitating. I returned to my doctor and she took me off ozempic. I am on predisone for a week trying to calm down my joints and then will try mounjaro if I can get it. There is still a shortage of mounjaro out there even though my insurance covered most of it. I didn't get to a high enough dosage using Ozempic to see if it even had an effect on my blood sugars. Read More Read Less

I have Type 2 diabetes which is well controlled, but couldn’t weight ( 350+ lbs.).The first month everything was good. Started at .25mg and increased to .5 for month 2 & 3. On .5 I started having acid reflux on day of injection. Took 1 Prilosec with shot and had no reflux. Started 4th month on 1.0mg. The really bad side effects started 3 days later after first dose of 1.0 mg. Almost constant belching of foul sulfurous tasting gas. Extreme bloating and abdominal pain, but no vomiting or diarrhea. However, I had what I can only describe as “splatter flatulence”, mostly mucus 10 to 15 times daily, usually triggered by eating 1 or 2 bites of anything. Day 3 & 4 I could make it to the bathroom, day 5 I couldn’t. That night things got so bad I almost went to the ER, but couldn’t get away from the bathroom. I’ve lost 23lbs some of which is due to side effects and not being able to eat. *GOOD NEWS!* I found a cure for the side effects. One heaping Tsp. of Manuka Honey once or twice a day. Noticeable improvement immediately. By the 2nd day I was back to normal. I will not be taking Ozempic again. Google Manuka Honey for more info on healing properties. It’s even being used with surgical dressings to prevent infection (per article, which I have read, in The Journal of American Medicine). It doesn’t taste like regular honey but has an herbal flavor with sweet honey undertone. The taste may be off putting to some at first, but far better than the sulfurous burps which decreased immediately along with the other symptoms. I had some in my pantry that I had ordered from Amazon, but have since seen it in my grocery store. It is more expensive than regular honey, but I would pay triple for the healing effects. Research it and all will be explained including reason for higher price and various uses. Read More Read Less

I have found Ozempic to be fantastic for weight loss. I lost more weight with Ozempic than having lap band surgery. If I inject more than 0.5mg each week I have nausea and lethargy. I also experience vision loss (about 30% loss), whatever amount of Ozempic I take. I have not read anything about Ozempic causing vision loss. Please let me know if anyone else has had this issue. I have been to an eye doctor and he couldn’t find any major issue with my eyes. As soon as I go off Ozempic my vision is back to normal. My main concern is whether this loss of vision could become permanent.Read More Read Less

Ben on one pic 2 months. I’ve lost 19 lbs. I started with .25 for one month. It wasn’t enough. Up to .5. I do get constipated but no nausea, vomiting etc. the day after injection I feel very tired but since I am retired I deal with it. It’s been good. I do still get hungry sometimes. I have changed my diet. I’m not eating processed foods I am cutting down on my carbs. Trying to eat only meat and vegetables but that’s almost impossible. I think if it doesn’t work for you maybe it’s your diet. I’m staying on it for now. I will check my A1c next week . All in all I feel 100 percent better than when I was 20 lbs heavier.Read More Read Less

Started with the .25 dose and experienced constant nausea for four weeks. Worked my way through that and stated the .5 dose injection. Into the first week of that dose I woke up with severe pain in both my hands. It felt like my fingers were going to explode. Pain spreading across my shoulder blades and severe pain in both of my knees. I can not even wring out a wash cloth without being in severe pain. I have tried everything to relieve the pain, ice, heat, and braces, nothing helps. I am taking everything I can get my hands on for the pain but I will not take my next dose if this doesn't let up. The pens keeps breaking, follow all directions, but 3rd one in a row jammed, using up cartridges to try to fix. Pharmacy doesn’t supply new pens, just the package which isn’t covered by insurance off cycle. Spoke to customer service, offered to replace ONE of the three in 5-7 business days. In the meantime, I go without medication I need.

I stated at lowest dose to 1ml. I've loss 13-15 pounds and today started with 2ml. I get nauseous but take phengren only. My A1C was stuck on 8.2 for the longest now it is 6.9! The greatest thing is it's lowered my sugar & definitely curbed my appetite. With excersize (swim)I eat two yogurt 0 with fruit everyday and a protein at night with some veggies. I'm finally going to reach my goals with this Ozempic! ??????
