Having read many threads on this forum I havn`t read any from users who also suffer with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) so I thought it might be helpful to share my experience as I have had IBS since my late teens. I am 64 now. I started as most people do with a weekly injection of .25 mg to start my body to get used to Ozempic. I thought at first that I had no side effects. This was not quite cor...

the "instructions" state that I take .25mg for 1st week and then .5mg thereafter. The graduations on the pen show nothing but dashes until you reach 1mg. the instructions also state that you can only take 1mg with this pen. wtf?

Ended up in ICU with my blood sugar around 400. Discharged with an A1C of 14. Weight 267#. Started taking Farxiga and using both quick acting and long acting insulin. I cleaned up my diet and eliminated all sugar and processed foods, with a focus on veggies and white meat chicken. Stopped drinking alcohol and limited drinks to coffee, unsweetened iced tea and water. 3 weeks after leaving the hospital I was prescribed Ozempic. Took .25 for 2 weeks, then .5 for 2 weeks, then 1mg for 3 weeks, and just started taking 2mg today. Only side affect I have had is mild constipation. 4 weeks into taking ozempic my A1C fell to 11.2… at this time I stopped using my quick acting insulin with meals. 3 weeks later my A1C came back at 5.7…. My weight is currently at 224#. To combat constipation I began consuming 2 cups of black coffee each day. Usually 1 in the morning and 1 in the afternoon. I didn’t like it black initially so I would add ice to it to cool it down so I could chug it fast. Over time I’ve come to like black coffe and enjoy it hot now. I also eat 1-2 sugar free greek yogurts each day. I’ve been doing this for 6 weeks or so now and I have little or no constipation. Oh, I also have found that if I fail to eat I become constipated so I feel that making sure I eat small food potions a couple times a day works. I also bought an Apple Watch and make sure that I walk 10k steps per day. That’s my journey so far with type 2. Hope my journey continues on this positive track. Read More Read Less

I have been taking ozempic for 3 months for type 2 diabeties. I started on o.25 for 8 weeks as i had trouble with bad nausea. U then progressed to 0.5mgs, after taking it for just a couple of weeks i started with vomiting and watery diarrhea, had to sleep on towel and incontinence pads. It was worse at night time. I have been taking gastro stop which has started to helo me, but still do not feel very well, i cant eat very much now, so just have to wait for the ozempic to get out of my system. My sugar has drpped down to 7.8 from 10, so it does work for sugar. Will not be continuing with it as side affects are to lethal. Read More Read Less

I have multiple sclerosis and was recently diagnosed with type two diabetes. Doc placement on Ozempic. I took my first dose of July 1. Immediate negative reaction to the drug. BP off the charts, racing heart, face numbness. Today my stomach is not right, and I simply cannot eat. Not a way to live. I wish others well on this medication but I ended up in the emergency room and even my ER doctor agreed. This was a risky medication at best. I threw the rest of it out, and I’m just going to make more diet modifications and lower my numbers on my own. Good luck to all :-)Read More Read Less

I have been on Ozempic 2mg for awhile. With that said, I have lost the weight from 320 lbs to 200lbs, I'm 6'4". The problem with this medicine is that it does irritate the nerves in my feet. A burning prickly sensation for the first 3-4 days. Horrible headache and no sleep until it's absorbed in the body. Does anyone have a problem with the nerves in your body? Nerves in your feet? Overall I feel like crap for the first 2-3 days after weekly injection. I'm thinking about stopping ozempic.

I live in Canada. I have had Type 2 Diabetes since 2008. I wanted to wait and review it after a few months. I have now used Ozempic for five months as a result of my family doctor’s recommendation. He was quite concerned because my A1c had risen to 9.4, which is far too high. In the last five months, with gradual increases of Ozempic from .25 to .5 to 1.0, my A1c is down to a much more acceptable 7.6. My doctor is delighted with that improvement over a relatively short time. I’ve also lost 12 pounds so that’s a bonus. In terms of side effects i sometimes feel a bit yucky, especially the day after my injection. I have very occasionally vomited but not lately. My appetite is suppressed although I never had a big appetite. I’ll definitely continue on with the medication. Read More Read Less

I started having chronic headaches since last year. They started right after my sinus surgery so went back to surgeon. He said everything looked good but suggested i see a neurologist, which i did. Neurologist said i do not have migraines but ordered an MRI, which showed no problems. Have since seen 2 more ENT's, a "specialist" ENT, and an allergist. No one can find anything. I do have one clue: i started Ozempic and Ingressa (for tardive dyskinesia) about the same time. Have since discontinued Ingrezza due to side effects but the headaches continue. I say all this to ask: Has anyone experienced ongoing headaches with Ozempic? Thank you for your response!Read More Read Less

My doctor gave me a one month sample and I could not get past shot #3. The bloating, constipation and severe reflux made me realize that these meds work by triggering gastric paralysis, which for me, got SO bad I was nauseous and sick with reflux and IBS from shot 1 to shot 3 and for weeks after. So, Is it wise to introduce gastric paralysis to a Type II diabetic where the disease itself has some negative effect on motility? I want to lose wt and applaud those of you who stuck it out, but I failed…again.Read More Read Less

I have only been on Ozempic at the low dose for three weeks. I am 5'2" and 209 poinds. I began the treatment at 211 pounds. So I seem to be losing a pound a week. This suits me just fine since I probably have been this heavy for over 15 years when my gall bladder removal got me gaining weight over time. The very first injection gave me a head ache and a slight bit of nausea. Oh great, I thought I will lose weight by feeling ill? But after the second week and now the third, I feel fine and still this weight loss is happening. I know I am just into the process, But so far so good. My goal is 20 pounds off with medication help and then to do it on my own. I figure maybe 4 to 6 months may be enough.Read More Read Less

Was on Trulicity for a while and didn’t like the side effects so asked my doctor for Ozempic. Biggest mistake or my life!! First off, he started me on 2mg per week. Didn’t know he should’ve started me on lower dosage and raise it weekly. First week, I thought I was dying…. The nausea, constipation, heartburn, nasty belches, severe fatigue, and vomiting. Couldn’t eat, drink, or get out of bed until 4 days later. Second week, same symptoms, the fatigue, nausea, and vomiting is sickening. But lost 12 lbs in two weeks, appetite is non-existent and has been since the first week. Week 3, finally thought my body was used to the medicine because the side effects, except for the indigestion and nasty burps. Took my 4th dose this Sunday, 6/4/23, and I think I’m dying. Can’t even drink water. Stomach hurts and burns, watery diarrhea and vomiting at the same time. If I drink a sip of water, it comes out on the back end right away. I’m writing this on Tuesday, 6/6/23, haven’t been out the bed or eaten anything since Sunday. I’m stopping this drug because the side effects outweigh the benefits for me, or maybe my doctor screwed up by starting me on the highest possible dosage. Not cool at allRead More Read Less

Suffered from nausea while taking for 5/6 weeks. Nausea occurred every 2 hours after eating nearly every meal for the entire time. Never lost any weight. Heartbeat increased 10 bpm. At times, I I felt extremely hungry (but did not give in). Isn’t this the opposite of what should occur? I finally stopped the medication nearly 6 weeks in, after having a very violent 2 hr session of vomiting. Withdrawal was easy and negative side effects of the med disappeared almost immediately.

66 Male 5'10 190 lbs (+/-) My doc prescribed Ozempic to continue addressing my blood sugar (I was on Metformin for about a year, and my numbers improved significantly but I had diarrhea all the time and asked about Ozempic) which I started a month ago.I have not had any noticeable side effects from Ozempic, no rash at injection site, no nausea, or discomfort. I have experienced a bit of constipation, although that's better than the alternative. I'm waiting to see from my first labs if my numbers will continue the positive downward trend. I haven't noticed any real weight loss yet. I should also acknowledge that I significantly reduced my alcohol intake during the last month. I only have my beloved vodka martinis on Saturday nights.now. Read More Read Less

I have been taking Ozempic for about 5 months now. NO results what so ever. I'm on the highest dose. It hasn't helped with my cravings or helped reduce my appetite. It's like taking Nothing. A waste of money for me. I stayed on it for a while because my doctor encouraged me to do so. I'm getting off now.

I have been on Ozempic for years, I did lose weight, went from 208 down to 172. Was on 0.25 for a long time than .50 now on 1.0 I do have itchiness behind my arms, small bumps under skin, only one other person on here mentioned that. Also bloating, terrible acid reflux and constipation. But overall, it lowered my A1C and weight. I am very tired, don't know if that is related to the Ozempic.

I have been on Ozempic now for almost 2 years. I now on the maximumu dose of 2Mg per week. My A1c is at 6.3 and continues to go down. I have lost 25 # and if I quit drinking I would lose more. The downside is the Constipation. I will eventually have a large poop, but it is accompanied by dibilitating gut cramps, where I know I have to find a toilet quick. The only effective strategy I have found is using a old fashioned enema when I miss a bowel movement for 2 days. All the laxatives just cause worse gut cramps.Read More Read Less

Easy to use excellent results. Surprised at the reduction of alcohol went from a daily user to a drink every couple of months. Simply have lost all desire to drink and this was not expected or intentional. Got to be the medicine no other changes.

I've been on O for 4 weeks now to lower A1C and lose weight that has been impossible to lose having Hashimoto thyroid/auto-immune disease. I have lost 6 lbs so far. Appetite control is somewhat there since I can't eat the portion I used to, but I feel more hungry than usual and need to continue to eat frequent small meals to keep level headed. I have mild constipation the first 3-4 days after the weekly does that gets eased with Miralax once or twice a week, occasional dull headache, muscle tightness has been happening the last week, heartburn is a guarantee if I eat more than my stomach will allow or processed foods, I get mild tremors around my face from time to time. I've taken a trip to urgent care thinking I was having a stroke and facial tremors and it was actually my bodies mental and physical response to having a bs lower than I've experienced in a few years (124). I chose to keep going for another week, but cautiously since I seem to be showing possible signs of severe side effects (working closely with my doctor of course). It works if you can tolerate it and the side effects don't overtake you. I'd say proceed with caution. Read More Read Less
