Having read many threads on this forum I havn`t read any from users who also suffer with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) so I thought it might be helpful to share my experience as I have had IBS since my late teens. I am 64 now. I started as most people do with a weekly injection of .25 mg to start my body to get used to Ozempic. I thought at first that I had no side effects. This was not quite cor...

the "instructions" state that I take .25mg for 1st week and then .5mg thereafter. The graduations on the pen show nothing but dashes until you reach 1mg. the instructions also state that you can only take 1mg with this pen. wtf?

I have taken ozempic for 10 months and have lost 52lbs. I have not had side effects except for not having a bowel movement but once a week. That is because it slows down digestion which makes you feel full longer... why it works for weight loss. I have found that if I eat poorly, ie: a diet high in fat or carbs, my stomach will feel a little upset. That keeps my diet clean. I started at .5mg and increased to 1mg weekly.

My MD started me on 1mg. It absolutely poisoned me. Horrible acid reflux so badly I came down with Gastroenteritis and Esophogitis. This drug is very dsngerous. Wiped me out for 21 days. I lost 15 pounds but the nausea and gas were beyond description. So bad.Never again . This should come with a major warning label.

I ended up in the ER a few days after taking ozempic and the doctor gave me a diagnosis of colitis. Some of my symptoms were bloody diarrhea, vomiting and nausea; take at your own risk!

Started at .25 then moved to .5 tiredness , gi , severe anxiety , weight gain , and extreme hunger … it does not work at like oxicontin “break through pain” ( fake ) , it’s setup to get you to spend more …. The diabetes clinic St Joseph’s London Ontario staff offer terrible support . They try to down play everything you tell them … after watching the tv show DopeSick I suppose they’ve been told what to say or Dave legal action from the company that makes it .

Four weeks in and have dropped 6kg. Pretty happy with that. No negative side effects. First injection gave me nausea for a day. That was it. No other problems since. Tried for years to lose weight and no luck. This seems to take away my appetite and I no longer eat such large portion sizes. Will stick with it.

Well I have been taking this medication for about 3 weeks now and I’ve had cramping. A little diarrhea. Lost of appetite which is good and I love it because I loved food and food loved me. I started at 365 pounds and now I’m at 348. I’m impressed and convinced that it works. I’ve also been feeling kinda weak at times.

I began taking ozempic in October, by March I had hit my target loss of 4 stone. I did experience side effects, 2 days after each injection I would experience a few hours of diarrhea, I also experienced a couple days being constipated and had one instance of vomiting (when I had increased my dose) and a few days of sulphur burping (again after I had increased my dose). Despite all this I would highly recommend ozempic. I have pcos and have tried many 'diets' over the years and can honestly say this is the most effective thing I have tried. I did not change my diet (I followed the guidance by my supplier to continue eating as normal), the idea of this is to your train your brain to eat smaller portions of your usual meals, so I never ever felt deprived or that I was dieting - ozempic massively reduced my appetite so it has been so easy to adjust to eat smaller portions. The benefits of this has far outweighed the odd couple of days feeling a bit off. Read More Read Less

26 years old - 5”2 in height. This drug has been a blessing yet a curse. Over the past 5 months I have lost 30 pounds, which is amazing. 10/10 for the fact that I have been able to achieve this with this medication. The only changes I made were to my diet, no more take out (rarely ate it and when I did I paid the price). Did barely any physical activity to lose the weight. I have been struggling to loose the weight and this really gave me the kick start I needed to get on track. I’m now 25 pounds away from my goal weight. Pros: weight loss and feeling so much better about myself Cons: don’t over eat or you’ll pay. Crazy stomach pain, gross burps, vomiting. It was crazy. Yes, some times it was really bad. But the goal is to loose the weight and get off it and maintain. 10/10 would recommend to anyone who is obese and their weight is a concern to their health. But you must change your diet to be clean and not over eat or else you will have the worst experience. Eat salads! Read More Read Less

I’m on week 4 of easing onto Ozempic and so far great experience! I’ve done 0.25mg for 2 weeks, then 0.5mg for 2 weeks. So far I’ve lost about 2kg, but I didn’t expect to lose much while I was weaning on. I’ve had pretty minimal side effects, just a little nausea & slugishness, kind of like an early pregnancy feeling. But it’s eased as times gone by. I inject into my thigh which a lot of people say reduce side effects. It’s interesting because I have always struggled with eating, very much an all or nothing kind of eating disorder. But Ozempic has been able to help me regulate eating at a more appropriate balance. For example I can have a snack sized chocolate bar once a day and be satisfied, in the past if I was on sugar I’d eat a whole Block of chocolate and that’s all id want all day. I crave healthy foods too like fruit and veg. And even on the days where I haven’t had great eating I haven’t gained any weight. I’m looking forward to getting to full dose next week! I’ve been using this drug for around 9 months and have lost 2 stones 2 pounds (30 pounds) or (13.6kg) I’ve been struggling to lose weight for 13 years since having my son. I finally feel in control and no longer obsessing over food and 14 pounds away from my target weight. I’ve had no adverse side effects either.

Stay away from Ozempic. Stay far far away. If you are not taking it for diabetes, and you are only taking it to help lose weight, the most common side effects can make you feel like you are going to die. I took my first dose at .05mg and six hours later I was so nauseous I felt like I had been given a dose of chemo. Five days later I’m still nauseous, drowsy, constipated and experiencing stomach cramps. Upon closer reading of the package insert I discovered that these side effects can last up to FIVE WEEKS. That’s crazy. And the way I feel, they may very well last that long. Think long and hard before you risk taking this very dangerous drug. Read More Read Less

I vomit about every other day but only in the morning during breakfast. I start to eat then my stomach rejects the food. I go throw up then finish my breakfast. This is not normal.

Worst drug I have taken besides Invokana as a supplement with Humalog and Tujeo. Loss of appetite, constant nausea, loss of sleep because of constant gurgling, only eating child portions of food at meals...vomiting. No weight loss. Stay away from this drug. I was on it for 6 months. I did however, get my A1C down and good blood sugar levels...but it was not worth the side effects.

I have been taking this drug for a few months. I started at .25 then .5 and recently went to 1. I have always had a slight nausea with Ozempic, but on the new dose of 1, I am miserable. This is my 3rd week. The first 2 days are the worst. In addition to nausea, there is a huge bloating, a going back and forth between running to the bathroom all the time, and constipation. There is a reduction in hunger which is great and has caused me to lose some weight. I think dosage is a huge key. I am going to ask my doctor to go back down to .5. Overall, if monitoring the side effects and you can deal with them in the beginning, I think it would work for some people. But I am sick of feeling crummy ;(Read More Read Less

I’ve been taking Ozempic for 5 months and I have several side effects which are effecting my daily life. Severe constipation, nausea, stomach pain, gas, belching. I haven’t lost any weight. Some days I feel very bloated and other days thinner. I’ve feel unwell the first day I give myself the injection then as the week goes on the side effects get worse then by the next injection day I feel 50% - 85% better. I’m disappointed with this medication and I’m going to talk to my doctor about other options. Read More Read Less

Luckily I had no side effects beyond several weeks of constipation. Has anyone else found they are irritable the day before the next dose, and feel immediately better in mood when they've had their dose?
