Having read many threads on this forum I havn`t read any from users who also suffer with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) so I thought it might be helpful to share my experience as I have had IBS since my late teens. I am 64 now. I started as most people do with a weekly injection of .25 mg to start my body to get used to Ozempic. I thought at first that I had no side effects. This was not quite cor...

the "instructions" state that I take .25mg for 1st week and then .5mg thereafter. The graduations on the pen show nothing but dashes until you reach 1mg. the instructions also state that you can only take 1mg with this pen. wtf?

I have been a diabetic2 for 30 years, on the same medication, but doctor advised the meds were being phased out and put me on Ozempic .0.25 for 4 weeks. I consider myself to me of very high tolerance, but the side effects were horrible, fatigued, nauseous, lightheaded, stomach cramps ,daily diarrhoea no matter what I ate, and just feeling off. My doctor said to persevere, it gets better, and I did just that ,it has now been 14 weeks, and still on 0.25. and I am still no better, not much weight loss, but sugars have lowered somewhat. I haven’t been out of the house for weeks. I don’t think this medication is for me..Read More Read Less

I have been on this medication for weight loss, let me tell you, I immediately saw a difference in my thoughts of food and my need for food all the time! So far I’ve lost about 10lbs, my need for food is way less than it was and I can totally go without food for a while, and when I do eat I only eat a tiny bit then I’m completely full! The use of the pen is super easy and I like how it comes with the needles. I’d recommend this to anyone who wants to lose weight as this is the best injection that I’ve come across! Very happy with Ozempic!Read More Read Less

I was placed on this medication due to type 2 diabetes. Aside from finally having my blood sugars regulated and losing about 10lbs since starting this, i must say the constipation, stomach discomfort and sulfuric belching are terrible.

Besides having a weird tummy feeling, the medicine seems to be working. I lost two pounds in one week, I'm never really hungry and have much better control over my eating. I don't craze sugar snacks as they tend to make me feel back so i stay away from them.

I have lost 17 pounds in less than 2 months. This drug has freed me from constant hunger and thinking about food all the time. I have had some stomach issues but nothing I can't handle. It helps that I work from home so I don't have to worry about the stomach issues so much. I was on .25 for 6 weeks - increased to about .33 for the past two weeks instead of going to .5. The increase definitely made my stomach issue worse but it is better in a day or 2. As an older woman, I felt it was time to take drastic measures but I prefer not to have any surgery so I tried this instead. It is a miracle. Never has losing weight been easy and this was so easy! It is exactly what I need to take the right road back to healthy.Read More Read Less

I had all the side effects, and have not taken an injection for 2 months, and I still have a taste side effect. A numbness in my mouth and tongue. Very unpleasant. Make sure your Dr covers side effects with you, my didn't even thought she said she did in her notes of my visit, I guess that's CYA...

I have a terrible needle phobia but my Husband has done the injections for me and I’ve used numbing cream. I’ve lost 2kg in the first week (on .25mg). I’ve been really lucky and haven’t had any side effects. Have zero appetite so have been a bit picky with what I eat but Dr not worried about that. Usually if I don’t eat I feel nauseous and have headaches, but haven’t experienced that either. Very happy and it’s much cheaper in Australia so feeling positive.

I have mixed reviews on Ozempic. It has made a significant impact on my blood sugar levels and my weight. I have gone from an average of 7.8 to 6.2 and have dropped from 216lbs to 188lbs in a matter of 5 months. I’m currently taking .5. A disadvantage to being on Ozempic is the nausea, feeling of undigested food in my stomach, surfer burps and irregular bowel movements. I’ve had to lower my dose from .75 to .50 because the side effects outweigh the results of the drug. I am considering fully going off the drug if I continue to feel so terrible.Read More Read Less

Had my first .25 dose last Monday. Noticed a decrease in appetite and fasting numbers are lower. Have not noticed nausea, but definitely a weird feeling in my gut...almost like a minor burning sensation like indigestion. Not experience the constiparion others have shared.tried a piece of oven "fried" chicken! asparagus and brown rice for dinner and couldn't finish it. Just sharing my early experience more than a review. Will check in after 1 month

I started Ozempic at 285 pounds (I had lost 65 pounds on my own) and newly diagnosed as a Type 2 diabetic with an A1C of 7.2. I’m down to 245 pounds and an A1C of 5.3 less than a year later. I am at 1 mg weekly. It’s been such a success that I am going to try it for the weight loss component to see if I can lose the last 45 pounds I want to leave. I’m nervous because I’m going from 1 mg to 2 mg right away. I remember the bloating diarrhea and cramping from all of the previous increases in dosage. I’ll post more as I go along!Read More Read Less

Im on my 2nd week. Have had a horrible time using this dreadful instrument of torture. Im ised to using a syringe and mixing my own meds for fertility treatments, which had a very logical flow and process. The instructions for this unholy device are ridiculous anddo not have a logical flow. I keep treating the pen like my hgh shots, which I mixed and measired myself. Math ( eg measiring preciselh on one"s own) doesnt lie. This pen thing is a joke. The instructions are obtuse. I wonder how much the team of engineers was paid to develop this piece of crap.Read More Read Less

My glucose levels started going down quite a but after the second week. My side effects were nausea and bloating for a day or 2 .first 2 weeks I took.25 second 2 weeks .5 . I am on my 4th week now. It has been a life changer. My fasting level has been 5.00 or lower ( I am in canada) and after meals I never go over 8. And for me that's miraculous . I don't have the huge spikes anymore

I am in my second week of using ozempic and still at 0.25 mg dose and the results have been nothing short of miraculous. It’s like someone turned a switch on in my brain that was accidentally shut off. I now feel full after eating even half a sandwich or a small bowl of oatmeal. I can’t actually believe it because it’s so strange to just be able to walk away from food because I’m full. I don’t think I’ve felt this since I was a child. I’ve lost about 7 lbs. I have definitely experienced some vomiting but mostly at night which is similar to what I had from reflux. Definitely had some constipation and the burps are miserable- but again with my weight gain I had terrible reflux so I was sort of used to it- I’m praying it keeps working because I finally feel like I can have a normal relationship with food. I was on the trial for Ozempic. Took one injection at LMC and took the second at my home. Really back diarrhea and then stomach pains. Stopped taking the injection because I felt worse than ever. Two weeks or so later I broke out into a rash and welts all over my body. Doctors at LMC said it was psoriasis and had nothing to do with the Ozempic. I am 73 years old. Psoriasis at my age? Really? Then my family doctor referred me to a dermatologis who said not Psoriasis but performed a biopsy to be sure. Lab came back with not psoriasis and could not rule out Ozempic. After 72 years of no allergies, I now have an allergy to semiglutide. I thought once my breakout cleared up after medicating topically for more than 3 months, I actually have a worse reaction to Ozempic. My Thyroid started failing. Their list of side effects said Thyroid tumors or cancer. They didn't say anything about Thyroid slowing down. I now have to take medication to try and fix my Thyroid. What did Ozempic do for me? It slightly lowered my blood sugar. It gave me an allergy to semiglutide. Affected my Thyroid Stimulating Hormone and put it higher than it should be which now caused me severe weight loss; muscle loss; fatigue; extreme difficulty climbing stairs. No strength at all. Also, the Thyroid issue causes problems with swallowing. Not just food, but water as well. This was the worst experience I ever had with a drug. It looks like I'm going to being paying for it for as long as I live. Read More Read Less

ive been on Ozempic for 2 months. i start my 1.0ug dose this week. i have lost 30lbs and dropped my a1c from 5.9 to 5.4. Its been wonderful. I did have some nausea the first week. i do take omneprozole for GERD so im sure that helps. Im a mid 40s female who 60lbs in the last several years. ive always ate well, never drank sodas, but the weight started creeping on and nothing helped. This was a game changer. i am so very happy. I dont CRAVE anything. im not hungry. i drink lots of water and juices. i do eat small portions. that would be the worst thing, if i eat too much, oh my tummy hurts! Read More Read Less

I’m 5 ft 8 and starting weight was 256 lbs. Pre diabetic, my Dr prescribed Ozempic. I had 4 weeks of .25 with minimal side effects. Some tiredness, burping and constipation. I increased to .50 last week and within 24-48 hrs was violently throwing up and diarrhea. It lasted for a day then I started to feel better. Through the week I didn’t eat much and felt full all day. I am down 15 lbs in 5 weeks. I’m due to take my next .50 and am a little apprehensive as I don’t want a repeat of last week. I’m going to try injecting in my thigh to see if it reduces side effects.
