Having read many threads on this forum I havn`t read any from users who also suffer with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) so I thought it might be helpful to share my experience as I have had IBS since my late teens. I am 64 now. I started as most people do with a weekly injection of .25 mg to start my body to get used to Ozempic. I thought at first that I had no side effects. This was not quite cor...

the "instructions" state that I take .25mg for 1st week and then .5mg thereafter. The graduations on the pen show nothing but dashes until you reach 1mg. the instructions also state that you can only take 1mg with this pen. wtf?

I take for weight loss. I have other medical issues that make losing weight impossible. Was on Phentermine and lost like 50lbs (220 to 170) but then it stopped working. Over the course of a few months I got back to 198. Started ozempic at .25 doses... did this for 2 weeks...typical side effects (sleepiness, nausea and direahea) stayed at .25 for 2 weeks. As side effects were not that bad I moved to .50 on the 3rd week. Side effects were about the same. Today I'm taking my 3rd dose on .50 (5th over all dose)... I'm down to 170!! Woot woot! 20ish pounds in about a month. I am super happy and hope this continues. I am noticing that I'm barely eating.. like I'm technically anorexic based on my calorie intake... I'm just not hungry and if I do eat it's cramps and direahea.... I've also had a few instances lately were I felt something like hypoglycemia shock.. that is scary of course but when this happens I just eat some chocolate or something and I feel better. ?? I'm curious if anyone else has similar side effects? I know those side effects might seem harsh but really I'm feeling pretty normal most of the time and the weight loss makes up for it! Also my dog said I wouldn't even lose weight in the first 1 to 2 months as this is time for your body to get used to medicine and for the medicine to build up in your system, so I was very surprised to be losing weight immediately. I have not change the way I eat or added exercise either. Read More Read Less

Started 2 weeks and 2 days ago and I’ve lost 21lbs. But I’ve also made changes to my diet since being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. But I’m happy with the results.

just started been two weeks at .25 dose. heartburn and acid reflex is my side effect but managed with nexium. I am very disappointed at how the medical field classifies this medication. covered under a drug plan if you are a diabetic but if you are not and medical need to lose the weight for surgery it is not covered. this is super expensive for the amount of months/years that I will be having to take this with no guarantee that this will be successful. I surely hope I am not wasting the $260. a month on this. feel like it will be another kick in the face. Put me back into depression and disappointment.Read More Read Less

Pens do not last the full month as stated. Having to take Metamucil for diarrhea then sometimes I’m constipated for days. I have Medicare part D and have been on ozempic for about 5 months and now I’ve used up all of my prescription money for the year so having to pay full price for all of my medication. My doctor did fill out a form with ozempic and they are going to give me 4 free months thank goodness because I cannot afford it. I’ve only lost 12 pounds since I’ve been on it and get very nauseas after taking it. It’s working though so I’m happy. It’s frustrating though that other insurance companies pat ask but $25 and people on Medicare have to pay a fortune. I still think Medicare, deductibles, prescriptions etc should be free. People never work a day in their lives get free Medicaid we work and still have to pay. Good luck to all of those on it because for me it’s slowly working. I move up to 2mg next week. Used Ozempic specifically for weight loss. I lost 20 pounds in four weeks tapering from the .25 those to the .5 dose. Extremely impressed with the results. Only downside after stopping as I have the sense my thyroid levels have been tweaked or affected and I’m having it tested.

4 weeks .25 dose on second dose @ .5 mg. A1C is better from 8-9 in morning to 7-7.5. As for weight loss,ZERO pounds!!! I exercise and eat healthy. Why NO weight loss. Very annoying when will I see the weight loss?

I just went from .25 mg to .5 mg today so I've completed a full two weeks on this medication. I've lost 5 pounds to date which doesn't feel like very much considering how little I'm eating. I haven't felt hunger in two weeks and my cravings are significantly less. I'm hoping that as I go up in dosage that my weight loss will accelerate. I take other medications that increase my blood sugar levels so I'm hoping that this medication will counteract that leading to weight loss. overall I'm very happy, but hoping for better results with the increased dosage. I'll post an update as I (hopefully) progress! Read More Read Less

I used the .25 for 4 weeks then .5 for 4 weeks, I've been increasingly tired and fatigued as I increase the dosage. My wife has been insisting that I get off of the Ozempic shots. My glucose levels have not decreased since using the Ozempic shots. Ozempic has cost me a lot of money since I had to pay the Medicare Part D deductible.

I'm on week 7 overall, 3rd week on the .5 dose. So far I've lost 6 pounds, which although nice to see...isn't impressing me. I eat very healthily, been vegan for many years and don't eat grains at all (no bread, rice, pasta...none of that.) I've been lucky to have experienced few side effects. The doctor's goal is to get me up to a maintenance dose of 2.4. Hopefully I begin to see better results by then.

I just gave myself the last .25mg dose. Next week I will move to .5mg. Overall I feel great. My appetite is drastically less. I do not snack between meals and am lucky to get in 2 meals a day. I have been doing some light exercise but nothing dramatic. As of today, I am down 9lbs. I do not have any side effects luckily. I highly recommend this medication to anyone struggling with weight loss or high blood sugar numbers.

Started on 0.25 for 4 weeks with the only side effect of fatigue.. than I was up dosed to 0.5 my taste buds have changed, vomiting and can hardly get out of bed that I am that exhausted.. I cannot stand the smell or sight of food at all.. I was taking trulicity prior to ozempic and comparing them both, trulicty had harsher side effects.. I have another 3 weeks of 0.5mg of ozempic and pray the side effects ease.. 1 cup of coffee and I am struggling to get through that .. will come back for an update in a few weeks time Read More Read Less

Ozempic is worse than cholera. 2 weekly 0.25 doses = Liquid diarrhea for 15days and counting + extremely painful cramping & vomiting. 0/10. Make sure your doc knows how -exactly- it is affecting you in real time as there is no antidote. Antihistamines and corticosteroid can help per UCLA Med Center.

After 8 weeks still on .25 MG stomach pain ,constipation and diarrhea. Have your stools changed consistency? I know that is a weird question but I haven't had solid stool. Also what is the most weight lost in a month, I seem to be losing fast which concerns me. I have lost 13 lbs in 2 months. Is this normal

Just started 2 weeks into treatment and I have to say no side effects. I was scared to start and held off due to all the reviews but as far as I am concerned nothing noticeable. I am on it to help get past a plateau lost 50 pounds and cannot seem to go any lower. I will update if anything changes but so far so good

I just started taking it 9beginning of July) and after my first dose I started having a heavy period, passing clots. After week 4 I am still bleeding. I had to stop taking it as I feel tired and drained.
