The serum was painful upon injection. Within hours my upper arm became swollen, itchy, red and hot to the touch. Two days later and the injection site is no better and I have experienced dizziness as well.

I recently received the first shot (7-1-18) the first day the spot were I received the injection was a little sore no other issues the second day my arm is really sore at the injection site, also have some mild fatigue on the second day. Other than that its been an ok experience. Much better than getting shingles. Gave everything 3 stars due to just getting vaccinated.

First shot, sore arm for a day. Wish I'd never taken the 2nd shot. Sore arm for a day -- but 10 days later, fever with chills, felt like I was having the flu, eyes burned, brain fog -- for close to 2 weeks. Then I started getting hives, which I suffered with off and on for a month. Hives are finally under control by taking H1 and H2 blocking antihistamines. I recommend that anyone who takes the first shot should wait as long as absolutely possible before getting the 2nd shot; I did not do that, and think perhaps that would help. I have informed my doctor that I will NEVER AGAIN take a vaccine with that particular adjuvent in it. This is the first time this particular adjuvent has been used, and it is the first time I have ever reacted to a vaccine. There has to be a connection. Read More Read Less

I had 1st injection in June, 2nd in August. I have never had a vaccine with such horrible scary side effects. Chills, fever severe aches, bones hurt, vertigo, dizziness, nausea, weakness. I felt like I had the worst flu of my life. The 2nd injection was worse. I'm 2 weeks out from having it and have joint pain in my hands, no energy, severe headaches, and stomach upset. These symptoms were NOT part of my daily life prior to the vaçcine. I work full time and it has been a supreme effort getting to work everyday. I would NOT recommend this vaccine. The side effects are too severe. I have had a flu shot every year for the past 15 years and never had any side effects.Read More Read Less

Don't know of effectiveness as of yet. Recommended by doc last year and deeply regret taking this if I had to do it over would not of taken it. I am 55 and very healthy this shot literally made me sick. Not only that but the second dose was given so high up at the top of my shoulder that it caused my rotator cuff to fray and I developed a cyst and scar tissue in which I had to have shoulder surgery for. Let me say that while it was not the medications fault but the incompetent person that gave me the shot I did feel sick from vaccine itself. It took several months (despite shoulder surgery) before I felt like myself again I was tired and weak and had very little energy. This drug needs more testing and research.Read More Read Less

1st shot was painful for 3 days, 2nd shot for only 1 day. They stopped my multiple shingles events for just over 6 months (when I would have had 2 or 3 serious events), but then I got a sudden outbreak. However, this one was totally different than any I'd had in previous 15 years - e.g., it affected different areas of my torso and the pain came and went almost hourly, plus the pain has been far less severe than ever before. I'm now in my 4th day of this event and am glad I got the Shingrix. I just hope there aren't any more 'new' surprises and that this event ends in far less time than the 5 weeks my previous painful episode took before I got the Shingrix shots.Read More Read Less

We both got first dose a couple months ago, we are in our 70's. Felt achy, lame for several days. Second dose was dreadful, both lame, achy, tired. His arm from shoulder to elbow very swollen and hot bright red. I am blossomed out in a hot red itchy rash from arm all around the back and down the rib cage to below the waist, pharmacy said to take Benadryl, if it isn't better tomorrow then I go to the Dr. After all this I sure hope it really prevents shingles, time will tell.

Both of my parents have had side effects related to this drug that has negatively effect their health. They both received their 1st injection on 7/6/18 & their 2nd injection on 10/10/18. Both my parents, my brother, myself, & numerous others started noticing a decline in health for both of them. After going back & looking at my mother’s calendar (she keeps notes on it, much like one keeps notes in a diary), we realized all the problems started and coincided with their 1st injections, some of their issues were listed as possible side effects, others were not. We have watched these 2 healthy, active, vital adults turn into people we hardly recognize. My father whom is in his 80’s walked 2 miles every morning around their neighborhood, but within a couple of days of taking his 1 injection he started suffering from a definite discomfort to his right side back area where his bottom ribs would connect, & his right knee became weak, and felt to him like his knee wanted to double backwards, or collapse, he also lost strength in both his leg muscles, making it hard for him to rise and stand from a sitting position, & after sitting he experiences severe pain in right leg muscle & knee area causing him to have problems controlling his balance or walking which was something he had never had a problem with prior to this injection. As of today, 12/3/19 my father is no longer able to walk without the assistance of a walker, & I have yet to start to address the issues my mother has experienced. My mother began loosing her hearing & has not been able to get it back, this was a woman that could hear a Gnat land on a window seal 100 feet away, and whose grandchildren referred to her as radar ears. Since then she has seen ear specialist, but they have not been able to find the source of her hearing loss as of yet. My mother is also a B-cell cancer survivor, her yearly mammogram on July 30th, alerted of swollen Lymph node, a side effect, biopsy was clean, more mammogram scheduled by DR.Read More Read Less

probably the worst vaccine side effects I have had. The pain at the injection site lasted about 2 weeks, I had fever, chills aches & pains for at least 3 to 4 days, could not sleep, basically I was miserable. But having said that I will take the 2nd dose as a few miserable flu like days is far better than shingles

10 days of flu symptoms with initial sore arm and shoulder with 2nd shot. Very little with 1st. Had 3 days of aching, headache and digestive problems. Am 83 years young and still do light gym workouts. Rarely sick. Still better than shingles but definitely warning others.
