I used to take small amounts of the Ephedra plant, which helped with focus and motivation, as well as keeping allergies away. I have found that while it says it's a decongestant, it works best (for me) in drying up runny noses. During allergy seasons, it's the worst, with almost a waterfall pouring out of my nostrils. Sudafed (Sudagest) does wonders in stopping it within half hour. Reactions are going to vary from person to person. Best rule is do NOT take this before going to bed. It is a form of speed to some extant. Some people (like myself) have no problem going to sleep on days I've taken it, but that would be many hours before bedtime. Some people complain that it only lasts 3 hours. That's not true. It depends on the release amount you buy. Some are 12 hour slow release. So use common sense, and do NOT overdo it. Only take the prescribed amount. I should add that I usually take this along with Claritin.Read More Read Less

Nice side effect I’m not hungry when I take these regularly!

Extremely stuffy sinuses for extended period of time, doctor suggested Sudafed, I got Sudogest generic. Took 1 pill, cleared sinuses by next day, but I was extremely nauseous and threw up for 24 hours, couldn't keep any food/soda/milk/chicken broth down. Slept all day, had headache and body aches the whole time, but couldn't take ibuprofen since I couldn't eat and it requires food in the stomach. Now it's been 48 hours since I took Sudogest, and I can finally have bland food in small amounts, and take some ibuprofen. I hope I recover from the Sudogest side effects today, and I will never take this medicine again. It was a horrible experience.Read More Read Less

I cannot sleep when taking this but it works very fast. I wish it lasted longer than 3 1/2 hours! Much stronger than OTC.

Have the flu and pregnant, dr said this was safe to take. Works well but feel like I can't be still and itching like crazy. However it is making me feel better, just hope I can get some much needed sleep.
