I have been receiving Eligard injections every 3 months for the last 2 years. I also received 48 doses of EBRT. My PSA levels have been undetectable for that entire time. I meet with my urologist Monday to discuss next steps.
I don’t remember ever discussing the term “advanced prostate cancer”. I understood that my Gleason 8 was high and the cancer needed to be dealt with aggressively.
Advanced prostate cancer, also known as stage 4 prostate cancer, occurs when cancer cells have spread to other parts of the body.
My MRIs taken about 2-3 months post diagnosis showed no spread!
