I have been taking this generic form of Celexa for ten years, next month. I was hesitant about getting on any mood med, but it has helped me tremendously. I am here writing this review... that's the point, I'm here. Diagnosed with major depression at 19, I was prescribed this pill by my family physician after several doctors visits relating to depression and its toll on my mind and body. It took m...

My doctor prescribed me 20mg Citalopram for depression. After a few weeks, there was some improvement, but I felt the drug helped my anxiety more than the depression. The dose was increased to 40mg. Still felt "lopsided", in that the anxiety was under control but not the depression. This drug clouded my judgement, as I said some things and felt like I put my foot in my mouth! Very embarrassin...

I am somewhat happy with the medication Citalopram HBR 20MG which I have recently been increased to 30MGs. I used to work in corrections, but now work as a security officer. However, whilst working security March 15, 2015 in an apartment complex, I was lured into the parkade due to a fire alarm where 6 men were waiting for Me. I have since suffered from night terrors, but refused to be a victim so I returned to work for 1 year, then the depression, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts came. Workers comp had Me see a PTSD Psychologist right after the attack for 2 visits, then had Me see him again. He diagnosed Me with delayed onset post traumatic stress, however WCB will only look at the physical aspects of the attack, not the psychological ones. I have now voluntarily been admitted to the psych ward due to wanting to end My life and the Psychiatrist here has put Me on Citalopram. The night terrors have not stopped at all, but I've learned a new coping method by looking for something particular in the room (like My chair) as a grounding to let Me know that I am not at work and the attack is not real. Since taking the 30 Mg of Citalopram the thoughts of ending my life have ceased greatly. Iind myself a lot happier, yet am tired more. Read More Read Less

I was severely depressed due to a life event in 2003. I couldn't sleep or eat, and I essentially went "down the rabbit hole" and couldn't get out. I was a total wreck and had an extremely difficult time working and doing general tasks. My doctor put me on a new drug (at that time): Celexa. It wasn't long and I began sleeping well and functioning better. After 3 months, I was able to get off of them. I haven't had the need to take anti-depressants since that time. I highly recommend it... it definitely worked for me!Read More Read Less

Week 3 of 10’s, second try with this med. Terrible non-stop nausea after pill ingestion. Also burning sensation in stomach. No noticeable improvements of my depression and anxiety. Doctor will have to prescribe different medication.

I started taking this years ago and found it treated my depression and anxiety quiet well. I was on 40 mg. I have noticed, however, that my sex drive has decreased and I can't concentrate as well now. I'm going to be talking to my doctor about reducing the dosage. However, when I first started it it was very effective and it made a huge difference in my life.

Citalopram was prescribed to me for "irritation". I found myself getting easily irritated, which would create unnecessary stress, bad energy etc. The change happened overtime. I simply don't get irritated to the degree or frequency I used to. In fact it's pretty rare these days. I feel grateful, positive and genuinely happy. When I commented to my md about how I felt about Citalopram, he said "it's like somebody hit the pause button" just long enough to let it bounce off you.

Ive been taking this medication for a year now and it has helped me in so many ways. I take the 20mg. it took probably about two weeks before i noticed anything different. My family noticed an improvement in my mood the first week. I can wake up in the moring and not feel dread and i can control all my emotions so much better. I dont cry on a drop of a dime anymore. I actually laugh and it feels amazing. This medicine has changed my life. The only thing i get as a sideeffect is the constant yawning, but ive grown accustomed to it. Thank you citalopram.Read More Read Less

I had taken Citalopram years ago and thought it was replaced as most meds are but I have been on it for a little while(2 weeks) and I already feel better which is great because the medicine I was on made my depression worse. My depression went from a 9 to a 5 on citalopram and I never thought I would get down to a 5 again.

I have been on Citalopram for two years. Yawning is still frequent. But I'm please with this medication. I get a lot less irritated and anxious since beginning this med. I have noticed a decrease in sexual drive which I'm sure my husband is not happy about. 10 mg. was enough to put me back to feeling myself again.
