I would be out of breath taking the garbage cans to the curb and walking back into the house at times the last few years, I had become very stagnant. Since starting Entresto on Jan 4th in lieu of Lisinopril I am out 5 days a week walking my sister's dog for 45 minutes, I feel like a new man. I have zero side effects and am highly recommending this drug to anyone with CHF...

Too Expensive. Was given a trail from Entresto they said i already used it not true. Do not have insurance.

I suffered a STEMI heart attack in 2018. Due to my physical location when the attack ocurred - at the top of a ski resort during a heavy snowstorm, I was not able to get to the hospital until a little more than two hours after the heart attack. This result in extensive damage to my heart muscle. My EF in the first two months post heart attack was 35-40. A year later it had dropped to 30-35. Four years later it dropped to 25. I have been taking Entresto for about six years. I don't know whether it helped me or not, but my EF seems to be dropping steadily. A recent stress test showed poor blood flow but an angiogram showed no blockages and my heart stent is in good shape. For me, the jury is out on Entresto. Maybe it just can't do miracles when there is a lot of heart muscle damage. What makes it worse is that now that I am on a Medicare drug plan, coverage for Entresto is really bad - it costs me more than $200 a month.Read More Read Less

I have had congestive heart failure for over ten years. In the last six months I developed a bad case of edema. I gained 15 pounds. My legs were badly swollen. I could barely walk from my living room to my bedroom at night since I got out of breath and was very weak. My doctor tried doubling my water pills. That didn’t help. I asked him if there was a different medication I could take. He suggested I try Entresto. I’ve been taking it for about a week. It’s been like a miracle. I lost six pounds so far and my energy level has increased tremendously. I feel alive again. I’ve never taken a medication that has acted so quickly and changed my life so much for the better. If it works this well for everyone, I would definitely recommend it. Read More Read Less

EF fraction was 25-35 and I was put on heart transplant list… immediately my cardiologist put me on the lowest dosage possible and it did not work for me. He increased it to 49/51 which was 5 years ago and I am doing wonderful. EF Fraction is 50-55 percent. Entresto works for me. Without it I would not be alive today. I have a pace maker/Def

I was diagnosed with early stage heart failure and was told entresto would be helpful. Started With the lowest dose and after 6 weeks I’ve had enough. Brain fog all the time, trouble breathing At times and some anxiety. This was at the lowest dose, glad I didn’t go to the highest dose.

I have been taking a 24-26 mg dosage twice daily since diagnosis in 2014 for CHF. I went through a Bone Marrow Transplant in June 1999, my CHF was caused from high dose Chemotherapy and Radiation. At the time of my Transplant my EF was 55%. Fast forward to 2014 it was 20-25%. I was given Heart Meds, one of which is Entresto. I have only had one Hospital stay, that was during my initial diagnosis. One other event was resolved through Diruretics, in June of 2023. My BP was averaging about 105/75 for years, but lately fluctuates between 95/70. I get headaches from low BP, but eat a low sodium diet and do not drink alcohol or use Tobacco. I go to the gym, use a rowing machine and steam sauna. For the most part still doing great and have a great Cardiologist Team. I see comments of folks starting then quit taking their Medication on their own fruition. Their choice for sure. However, I am a former Marine and Warden of a Maximum Security Prison. I believe in following directions and doing so until told or instructed to do otherwise. I trust my Cardiologist Team, Renal Doctor and Primary Physician. There are programs available for those who can not afford these life saving drugs. I do not know the contact information, but I hear it is available. My ending comment is this drug might not have worked for you as well as others or friends and relatives have actually done poorly. But I personally feel you folks should consult thier Cardiologist and if your not satisfied with what they say, find another that gives you peace of mind. Folks mean well, but one size does not always fit everyone’s needs. Semper FiRead More Read Less

I have been on Enresto for a total of eight months. After four months of taking the low dose and then the Mid dose I had an echocardiogram, and I had no increase in my ejection fraction. At that point my cardiologist said I could stop taking it but without switching me back to my prior regimen. I was having some breathing difficulties and wheezing so he had me go back on it since then I have developed chronic shortness of breath upon doing much of anything, and I wake up gasping for air after sleeping for just a couple hours my kidney values have been affected and elevated. I have back pain and continued pain in both legs my cardiologist ordered a nuclear stress test to rule out what he thought might be blockages and I have no new blockages and my valves are working well. The only change in my routine is staying on the Entresto. I eat a very healthy diet, low in sodium and stay hydrated. I take all of my other heart medication as prescribed. I am going to request once again to be taken off of this drug. I know that this has been somewhat of a miracle pill for some, but it is certainly not helping me and in fact, I think it’s doing a lot of harm.Read More Read Less

I had several issues 2 to 3 yrs ago with ejection fraction of 16. Within 1 yr it came up to low 30's. Right now I'm in the low 40's which is great. My doc says it a pill regimen of different drugs for this to work right. Great success!

My mother was on this drug for only six days before she passed away due to extremely low blood pressure that they could not stabilize. She had high blood pressure her whole life. Be careful with this drug!

This medication is very dangerous… My dads health rapidly declined after using this. I don’t normally post reviews but I hope this helps someone out there make the right decision. My dad has now passed and as I do know there is no cure for heart failure but I’m 100 percent certain this medication just made it even worse and strongly believe he will be with us today or Made it to my wedding if he never took this medication! Very sad that doctors are actually recommending these drugs to People!

After 10 months, I was no longer able to walk without chest pain. Horrible leg pain and could not walk up stairs. Honestly, I had less pain during my heart attack. After numerous requests, the doctor switched Entresto to Lisinopril. Still miserable, but can walk and do stairs again. Entresto may have done a lot of harm. Be careful with all heart meds. Doctors will not change them even if you're dying. They refuse to consider the possibility of adverse reactions.

Recent physical found I had a-fib (could not tell myself) doc put me on elquis and metoprolol, sent me to cardiologist who found ejection fraction of 25-30% so put me on entresto. Had cardioversion to get out of a-fib. One month later (35 days) had another echocardiogram showed 45-50% ejection fraction. Don’t know which helped me get the higher ef, probably both. Will continue to take entresto at this time, as had slight side effects such as a few coughing bouts and feeling tired at times.
