I was in a lot of pain in my lower back and shooting pain down my leg for months, and had increasing difficulty in walking and sleeping. I had been forced to use a cane, and a scooter to get around and I could no longer walk any distance. I had to stop physical therapy because the pain was too bad and epidural injections seemed to offer little relief. The MRI indicated that I had tissue from a her...

Joint damage from Lime. I took 400mg for seven days. Terrible fever, fast heart, heart pain and a heart attack on seventh day. Dr. said I was allergic to it. I would never take again.

I have advanced chondromalacia in my knees and severe degeneration L5-S1. I think for mild degenerative pain, Celebrex probably would be helpful, but for my moderate pain it is of no benefit. Doc wants me to continue to take it for its anti inflammatory properties. Costly. I also take Tramadol, as needed for pain management. Personally, i think Celebrex is an overrated medication!

I was prescribed Celebrex for Fibromyalgia pain. I have not improved but rather the problem is worse. Probably not caused by the Celebrex but certainly not helped.

Works perfectly to be rid of the pain, permitting me to function normally, but falling asleep is very difficult because of a feeling of anxiousness. What can you recommend to fix this issue?

I became extremely ill after taking one pill, I felt like I had the flue and was going to die. I think I am allergic to it. After some time I thought it was a fluke so I took one more time and the same thing happened to me I felt deathly ill.

I am a reasonably healthy 63 yr old with chronic migraines and various other aches from arthritis. I took Celebrex for a total of 40 days and then stopped. Approximately 2 wks after stopping the drug I awoke with the worst pain in my abdomen from waist up to bottom of breasts. Began vomiting and could barely walk--pain was worse than labor. At one point thought I was having a heart attack when pain began in back and arm. Went to ER and after several tests went to surgery where it was discovered that 4(four)feet of my small intestine had "died" and was removed. It was an intestinal ischemia and pathology reports could not explain any reason for it. Still a mystery. My recovery was approximately 8 weeks. Praise the LORD for quick action of hospital staff without which I very well could have had a very different ending. Do not recommend this very dangerous and unpredictable drug for anyone.Read More Read Less

Worked for awhile but my blood pressure increased and had stomach pains and trouble with bladder and bowel movements. Could not urinate at all at times and was very constipated. I drank a lot of water and lots of fruit but it did not help

About 3 weeks after starting 200 mg daily Celebrex, I started to experience moderate nausea, frequent need to move my bowels, mild abdominal cramping, and squirty diarrhea. I am not sure if it is the Celebrex Oral by itself or in interaction with the many other medications I take.

I suffer from knee and hip degeneration as well as arthrithic complications in my spine. I have bbentaking Celebrix for about 4 years. The drug works albeit quietly/unobtrusively) to the point of seemingly not to be working, BUT when I was required to stop taking it in prep for a hip replacement, and again for a lumbar lapionectomy(?) the immediate and excessive pain/swelling at my majopr joints was unbearable!!!!. My body seemed to go into overtime destruction once the inhibiting effects of celebrix was interrupted. I am very worried that such discontinuances, even if only temporary, are doubly detrimental and excelleratedly hurtful to my future well being. i.e. in the long term is the drug the right choice/ solution???Read More Read Less

Recently diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. Suffering from pain and stiffness in hands, feet and knees. Doctor prescribed 200mg daily. Drug has worked wonderful with absolutely no side effects. It has really resolved pain and stiffness. Have also recently started plaquenil to help resolve this condition and will continue with celebrex until plaquenil starts working.

I have been taking celebrex for a little over 30 days, one 200 mg capsule in the morning. doesn't seem effective later at night. I am up right now at 2 in the morning because I am experiencing severe intestinal pain and can't sleep. I wanted to look up the side effects and I see that I am experiencing the first side effect listed.
