I was in a lot of pain in my lower back and shooting pain down my leg for months, and had increasing difficulty in walking and sleeping. I had been forced to use a cane, and a scooter to get around and I could no longer walk any distance. I had to stop physical therapy because the pain was too bad and epidural injections seemed to offer little relief. The MRI indicated that I had tissue from a her...

Joint damage from Lime. I took 400mg for seven days. Terrible fever, fast heart, heart pain and a heart attack on seventh day. Dr. said I was allergic to it. I would never take again.

I have Arthritis in both hips due to Crohn's disease. I have been taking Celebrex off and on for over three years. And I have to say, it works GREAT most days!!! Some days, not that good. But I have to blame that on myself because I sometimes over due activities on the days when I am pain-free. LOL - Hey, when no pain, you feel more active and you can now do the things you put off before :-) The only thing I recommend is to take this with food, preferably about 15-20 minutes after, as it can cause stomach upset.Read More Read Less

Celebrex and celecoxib are the EXACT SAME pill. I complained to my doctor about the generic form and wanted the real celebrex back. I still had some of the celecoxib and compared the two. They are the same pill, same colors, same numbers (both have 7767 on 1 line, 200 on the 2nd line), everything. EXCEPT that celebrex costs more than celecoxib. What is up with this?

I have several ruptured disks in my back (7 to be exact) from an old cheer leading incident and several years in corrections work, I am only 31 and this medicine has been a game changer for me. I feel normal. I can walk without a terrible limp and pain. God bless the maker :)

After all of the crazy things that I did as a child and in my twenties. I now live with head to foot arthritics. As long as I have my Celebrex I feel like a normal person my age and I am able to return to horseback riding, bike riding and zip lines on vacations. With out my Celebrex I feel like I am 80 + and everything hurts from head to foot. I will be on it for life even though I am in my early 40's but it is worth it! <3

Much easier on the stomach than any of the other NSAIDs I've taken over the years. No magic cure for Lyme but it helps with chronic bursitis. Beware the innocent looking tick!

I quickly went from being in the best shape of my life to almost overnight turning into a chronic pain sufferer. I had three bad bulging discs and my L5 is pinched between the si bone and a nerve bundle making every hour of every day very painful...It was recommended that before we could figure out the best course of action, I should do an epidural to get the pain under control. I was told if I did this, I would be able to stop taking the anti-inflammatories and the norco pain pills. For me the epidural was very successful, but there was still nagging hip and arthritis pain. I am amazed at how effective taking Celebrex has been for me. I wanted to see, after the epidural, how I did. While the majority of pain was gone, I could barely limp....All of that remaining pain, stiffness dissapeared with the use of Celebrex. It has helped to reduce the inflammation, helped me to get better sleep, and get back to a routine that will hopefully, ultimately get me back on track, and maybe avoid surgery. Like others, I'm worried about the long term effects...I guess at this point, early in the recovery stages, I'm enjoying a break from the pain and given the choice of being in pain vs. not, I think the Celebrex is giving me a chance to get my life back.Read More Read Less

About 10 years following a spinal fusion on L3 - L4, arthritis pain and stiffness eventually took over my life and relegated me to a lifestyle more liken an 85 year old than a once energetic and athletic 55 year old. After years of over the counter NSAID use they completely loss any effectiveness and I felt as if my life was over. The morning pain and stiffness became so bad that it was all I could do to make a pot of coffee and often I was in agony just wiping after using the toilet - if I could bend or twist enough to do that at all. It was a humiliating, demeaning, and frustrating lifestyle that drained me and made me feel alone since I could no longer hardly take care of myself let alone do many of the activities I once enjoyed doing with others. At the risk of sounding like a paid advertiser, I must say that all changed about a week after starting a 400 mg daily dose of Celebrex. As the pain and stiffness subsided I took up walking again and within a six weeks I was pushing myself to walk the better part of three hours with short breaks to rest the sore back muscles weakened by a few years of decreased activity. About three months after beginning Celebrex I reduced the daily dose to one 200 mg tablet a day and for the most part, the severe pain and stiffness has not returned. It is important to note, that I had to threaten the Veteran's Administration with letters to my Congressmen and Senators just to give me this drug because they were concerned about the "dangerous" side effects (or the cost... or both). I carefully considered the side effects prior to taking Celebrex but, for me, the ability to enjoy life again is well worth the risk. Celebrex works better than any drug I have ever been prescribed - period.Read More Read Less

I have extreme pain and inflammation from ankylosing spondylitis. Celexa is not helping at all. Methotrexate had far too many side effects for me. I'd really like to get my life back.

Fractured my pelvis in several locations and have 2 screws in my pelvis. Could not walk without a cane and a lot of pain. Also it was very painful to sit. After 24 hours the pain was gone and I can now walk without the cane. Taking 100 mg 2 times a day. Tried Narco but that never really took the pain away. Ibuprofen worked but I started to get sick at night. Having no side effects from this medicine

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Celebrex... I take it as needed because my doc says 30 is "too young" to take it everyday or long term haveshence the 4/5 star rating for ease of use). I WISH I could take I every day instead of waiting for my horrible ones because it makes me feel like a person again.. one that can walk and function without being distracted or held back by constant knee pain. I have tried extremely scary & painful cortisone shots, OTC meds, and other things. This is by FAR the most effective for me. It doesn't hurt, doesn't make me nauseous, and the only side effect I have is sudden mobility because the pain's gone! If you can take it and other things failed, do not wait...try it TODAY please it will change your life. If your pain is due to inflammation like mine is, I promise it will help you. My only concerns are all the "caution" notes that come with it's use,(the cautious are a mile long and has a lot of "do not take if you have...." type of warnings that are kind of nerve racking. SoI recommend it for joint pains due to swelling, however please definitely discuss all history & medications (even herbal) with the prescribing doc. I also heard of older people almost obsessed or "addicted" to celebrex (I don't blame them) but that can be dangerous or lead to a rebound effect if discontinue taking it. So be careful but definitely try it! It's a life saver (I will never get another painful shot in my knee again because of this magical stuff! =)Read More Read Less

I have DDD in my back as well as the L-5 disc in lower back is pushing up against a nerve. I also have two bad knees, one worse than the other, and this is working much better than Aleve did for the pain. No major issues at least of yet.

I use to think Celebrex was effective, I'm not so sure anymore. I take a number of meds beside Celebrex. I feel like they are working against each other. I take Nexium and just found out it gives you hair loss. No telling what all my meds are doing to me. I am thinking about dropping all except thyroid and HBP. Right now the doc has me on iron for anemia which started after I gave blood. I was told it would take about 3 months to get back to normal.
