After five months I look like I have less swollen cheeks after cellulitis of the face with treatment by daptomycin after three reoccurences in five months. I was having blood pressure spikes with the daptomycin and complications with daptomycin but with oritavancin it really reduced swelling and redness quickly. It is only the second day but it is so much better than the daptomycin. No complications yet and I am impressed so far. The results are incredible very fast working no picc line required (although I already had one due to daptomycin)and no spike in blood pressure for me. I feel a lot better within 24 hours. My face started to change while the drug was being administered with swelling going down and redness being reduced. It does make you want to use the rest room quite often so put the patient close to a rest room when administering. This drug if it continues to work is less costly than the daptomycin 22.4K for a 14 day price tag plus the PICC line and possible hospital stay. All in all I wish I had this drug years ago. I feel in general better than I have in a very long time. I hope it continues.Read More Read Less
