I've decided to write a review since there are a lot of neg ones. I'll be honest, when I first took this I didn't have the most pleasant experience and reading some reviews freaked me out. Here's my history -- I was diagnosed with yeast infection last year by my obgyn of which she prescribed a one day oral medicine. It took a few days for it to work, but I don't recall having any side effect...

I wish I had read the comments before purchasing this. What started out as a slight itch turned into a monster after using this product. I used this at about 10pm right before I went to bed. By a little after 12am I woke up to a whitish discharge so a pad is a must but that wasn't all. I was Itching and burning so bad I almost cried. I went to the bathroom and rinse off with water several times an...

All I can say is the lady who said use diaper rash cream. DO IT, it works!!!! I was desperate for anything! I used Dr Smiths Quick Relief 10% zinc oxide. My pain went away almost immediately. Thank God for reviews, lady who posted that you saved me tonight hahaha!! Glad I can laugh about it now.

The burning sensation is awful. It's so bad that it's affecting not only my vagina, but also my butt. I'm having this weird discharge from the medicine. It's throbbing, burning, and aching so much it's uncomfortable and hard to walk. I also have deep red patches on the inside of my vagina where it looks like it peeled the skin off or chemically burned me. Taking a shower and trying to wash it out only gave me temporary relief. The pain came back about an hour later. I'm never going to use this product again... Seems like everyone else is reviewing this product the same.Read More Read Less

I now see everyones reviews. Big mistake do not buy this product. I had a yeast infection and thought, I would try this before calling my PCP..big mistake your vagina will catch on fire..Im not kidding it will spontaneously combust after using this product. If you like the feeling of a flaming hot, itch that you will loose your mind over go ahead dive right in. Other wise just go to your PCP or gyn.

The other reviews about the burning and itching are totally accurate. It was really painful. It woke me up at 1:30am after I had already taken 2 Benadryl. I was itching so bad so I put on more of the itch cream. Then the burning started. Omg. I washed the medicine out with my shower head, took ibuprofen, and put on diaper rash cream. It finally calmed down and I was able to climb back in bed. It took awhile to fall back asleep because I was so swollen I could feel my heartbeat in my underwear. I just woke up and so far everything seems to be good as new. Fingers crossed the worst is over. I will never use this product again. I wish I had read these reviews sooner before I used it but I’m thankful I found them so I didn’t freak out too bad when I was on fire and in so much pain. Read More Read Less

This was a terrible experience. I used the MS 1 ovule insert. Like many of the other reviews say, “Had I read all the other reviews, I wouldn’t have gotten it.” For the first few hours there was no change. Still the original discomfort which was not improving. About 4 hours later the burning started. It wasn’t incapacitating, but it was bad and lasted a solid 16 hours. Furthermore, the white gook discharge that came out is still coming out 24 hours later. I confused it with discharge from (what I believe was) a yeast infection. But I went to urgent care and the NP said it was from the melting Ovule. She also said that the burning and discomfort we’re all reporting is not from the Monistat product itself, but rather the outside coating of the Ovule. I absolutely made whatever my original issue is, worse, by using this. Never again!!Read More Read Less

I just inserted the monistat 1 overnight pre application like 30 minutes ago . I’m currently laying in the bed feeling 100 times better than I was 15 minutes ago.. 15 minutes ago I was in the most uncomfortable situation burning at about a 8/10 I just took a Tylenol PM so I’m not sure if it kicked in that fast or am I getting relief from the applicator. But what I do know is I feel way better and it works quickly. If you can deal with some pain I think you should just get it over with if your not do the 7 day oneRead More Read Less

Third time using Monistat 1 over the years. I have had three children. Have had a hysterectomy. I know what pain is. For me I have zero pain or discomfort when inserting this product. I feel badly for those who have posted with negative experiences. However it works wonders for me. Each time I've taken it the itching stops within 90 minutes. No intense burning. I insert it at night and wake up back to normal with infection and itching gone by the next day. I love this product.

I purchased monistat 1 after I noticed I developed a yeast infection due to me being on antibiotics for strep throat. When I got home I read the directions, very easy to read and understand. I followed the directions and applied the medication, not messy at all like other reviews have said. After applying the medication, I decided to read reviews (stupid of me). I saw all of the horrible negative reviews and immediately regretted buying it at all. It was too late. About 20-30 minutes after applying the medication, I felt a very very very slight burn probably best described as a tingling due to how minor it was. This lasted about 1-2 hours and went away. I do not feel anything else at all. No itching or burning like everyone else is saying. I guess I am one of those lucky ones. The burning hasn’t come back and I feel back to “myself” and clean. I recommend but the medication works differently for everyone.Read More Read Less

Do not take this. If anyone recommends this, they’ve either never taken it or they hate you. There’s no alternative. The discomfort of the yeast infection before was so much better than the pain this treatment is causing. It is itching like crazy. It is burning. My labia are swollen. It hurts. Now, I’m not even 24h into this, and I could already knock myself unconscious for being so stupid to ever take it. I never had such issues with the 3 day or 7 day treatment. Or when I took the oral medication against it. Take anything else. Don’t take this. It’s so terrible. Read More Read Less

This was the first time I used Monistat. I have had 2 yeast infections in my life and both times I took a prescription pill, one dose. Im not sure what made me try Monisyat, but Im so happy I did! It worked! I did the Monistat 1. I showered before bed, then insert the oval right before sleep. I used the external cream as well. When I woke up I felt instantly better, no odor. My vagina felt "treated", but I had no uncomfortable sensations. I had drainage when I stood up, so I made sure to wear cotton garments so the area could breathe but so my clothes had protection. I did not reapply the cream until evening. I also drank a probiotic drink and a full glass of water before bed and another probiotic drink in the morning with full glass of water as well. By the third day, I was good, and my vagina felt very very healthy and my smell was back to "me". I will note I had some tenderness in my vagina the second day, but once I completed my run,....im a runner, which increases blood flow throughout the body, it went away. For me, the first time I have sex after a few years of no activity usually triggers a yeast infection. I was thrilled at how well this product addressed and resolved that situation! A positive experience all around.Read More Read Less

I really don't know where to begin. I have only put out a review of a product a few times in my life. Mostly Good experiences.a.few poor. I don't like to complain. I want to protect anyone possible about the Monstat 1....3 was ok a while back. I have a high threshold for pain. The pain I experienced was off the charts. What is a little different is it occured the second and third night. I am grateful but also sorry to hear these bad reviews. I wouldn't wish the pain I experienced to anyone. It was excruciating! I was doubled over..trying ice packs. Showers..pacing the house and crying out loud about the pain. Husband wanted to take me to the emergency room. In the morning I called and saw my GP doctor who is so great but wasn't sure why the intense pain. It had subsided a bit that late morning. Also rest of the day. I know this is unusual compared to the other sufferers....but a second night it started again...and just as horrible!!!! I called my gynaecologist the next morning and they fit me in quickly. She is a well known Doctor with awesome reviews and background here in the Tampa Bay area. When I told her about the pain and then my using Monostat 1 she immediately told me they have discontinued promoting it to ALL patients and told me she and her practice use the words "Fire in the Hole"...that many other patients had experienced the same. Ok don't like the fact that I chuckled when she said that as she is such a professional and then some. As is her practice. But good for them to say that to each other...relief and some humor seems like a good thing. Sorry this is so long but I just feel that I have to warn about my experience. I believe I said this but again the pain was EXCRUCIATING!!! And I have one chronic pain condition. That pain is nothing compared to my experience. It was shocking!! Horrific. I am glad some who have reviewed here had no pain. But I sure have compassion for the large volume of others who had to go through this. Why is this still on the market? I'm remembering how truly awful it was as I write this. It gives me chills. Be very careful about this product. Read More Read Less

I wish I had read these reviews but it’s just medicine for a yeast infection I thought. I bought it for my daughter after she said she had an infection. She used it and then went to bed. About 2hrs later I’m woken by her crying. I seriously thought about taking her to ER. I couldn’t understand what was going on so I started googling. She jumped in the shower and bath to try and calm things down. She fell asleep after taking done benedryl and putting ice down there.

LISTEN TO EVERYONE ELESE. The burn is so bad !!!!! Like bad bad bad bad. So uncomfortable, like all the other comments I had to make it come out and rinse it with water. It burned so bad and made my vagina very dry and have rough edges the next day. I would rather deal with the uncomfortableness of the yeast infection than this burn!!! I believe it made it worse

Alright so here’s my story with using this product. Before I bought it i had done some research and this one surprisingly was the best one considering all the negative reviews. So i decided to take the chance and use this. I had taken it Monday evening before a short shift at my job, and i could definitely feel a burning and itchy sensation. I started to understand what people were saying that it made the symptoms feels 10x worse. I could feel a sort of uncomfortableness, but nothing terrible. I got home and just noticed all the gunk coming out of me (i know, gross), but besides that it was just some light burning and light itching. Second day, I could still feel some burn and itch but the gunk was very very minimal. Still applied the itch cream it came with even though it was very light itch. Now i’m on the 3rd day and i’m feeling honestly pretty good. I can see how this can be painful to some and i am so grateful that it wasn’t that experience for me. Overall a 7.5/10. I noticed a difference the very next day. No discharge. I had no burning or itching. I'm thinking these other reviewers might have something more that a YI. After 4 days, I was back to normal! No more sourdough bread smell. Yes, that is a symptom. Regardless of what other ppl will say. I highly recommend this product! It worked wonders!

I took mine (cream) before bed. I got up a couple times and some did seep out. I experienced some relief the next day. I didn't have any intense burning or itching. Maybe some ladies have allergies they don't know about. I recommend this product. It's much cheaper than a Dr's visit and prescription! I also started taking cranberry/probiotic pills, the day before. That may be helpful. I wanted to leave my positive experience/review, so other women won't be fearful.

I know everyone’s body is different and from reading all of these reviews I was honestly so scared to use this product. So glad I did. I used the pre applicator for one night and the only discomfort I’ve had was from the first night with some mild itching and burning, but nothing like what the other reviews are saying. I had a yeast infection last year and it reoccured again so I went and bought this product and glad I did. I suggest taking this right before bed so if you do experience the side effects, you aren’t out doing stuff. It’s day 5 for me and I feel great down there so I would recommend the monistat 1 pre applicator one and to take it before you go to bed! Read More Read Less
