I've decided to write a review since there are a lot of neg ones. I'll be honest, when I first took this I didn't have the most pleasant experience and reading some reviews freaked me out. Here's my history -- I was diagnosed with yeast infection last year by my obgyn of which she prescribed a one day oral medicine. It took a few days for it to work, but I don't recall having any side effect...

I wish I had read the comments before purchasing this. What started out as a slight itch turned into a monster after using this product. I used this at about 10pm right before I went to bed. By a little after 12am I woke up to a whitish discharge so a pad is a must but that wasn't all. I was Itching and burning so bad I almost cried. I went to the bathroom and rinse off with water several times an...

Everyone is correct on the burning 2-4 hours after insertion. However, at the 4 hour mark, I began feeling nauseous and started to lose my vision (tunnel vision) and I almost collapsed. Nothing in the 4 hours of inserting this medication have I done anything out of the usual. The only thing I did differently throughout my day was take this medication. I felt lightheaded, dizzy, nauseous, tunnel vision, slow breathing, irregular breathing, EXTREMELY WEAK, and scared. It doesn’t show on most websites about SERIOUS side effects on this medication, and I got most of those effects. Beside the horrible burning, I almost collapsed from this medication. PLEASE save yourself. Read More Read Less

The ointment is the better of the options when it comes to the 1-day treatment. Any creams, or egg inserts will literally have you on fire. Especially if the yeast infection has progressed past the early onset stage. The creams will leak out of you easier (because obviously being internal, your body temperature will melt/liquify it) and gravity will do the rest if you’re not laying down. And with your labial skin being raw from the yeast eating away at it. The scratching tearing the skin…. Of course the medicine is gonna burn like holy hell. I prefer the ointment because it’s THICK and won’t leak out until it done it’s job completely. And when it does leak out finally, it coats the irritated skin like Vaseline and further helps with the itching. I personally never have bad experiences with the ointment. Now the creams are another story. I stay far away from Monistat creams. Read More Read Less

I’ve never had a bad experience with Monistat 1. But! I will say I NEVER EVER use the cream or the egg inserts. Only the ointment. The thicker (Vaseline-like) texture prevents this “burning” sensation a lot of you all are complaining about. The ointment actually stays inside the vagina and doesn’t leak out as fast as the cream. The leaking medicine is what causes that intense burn because the skin on the lips/opening of the vagina is raw. The ointment never disappoints. And never gives me any issues. It does work in about 1-2 days. Read More Read Less

You are probably reading this because you are experiencing an intense feeling of itching or burning about 1 hour after you injected the tablet. Boy, do I have some terrible news for you. Like the rest of us, you probably didn’t read the reviews and realizing you made a grave mistake. Take 2 Tylenols right now and get ready for about 2-3 hours of the hell. I took 2 Tylenols, an edible and some Z-quil and knocked my self out. Felt tremendously better after the Tylenol but to sleep through the discomfort you may need to seek additional aid. I took the tablet at 5:47pm and around 7:30pm my hoo-ha was an inferno. As I got ready to go to urgent care, I read this reviews to find out I wasn’t alone. Highly recommend reading the rest of these reviews to distract you from the pain. I had to cancel my date with a lawyer cause didn’t want to move from my bed. A cold compress helps a tiny bit. Good luck to you solider, you are going to need it. Read More Read Less

I didn't experience the burning sensation but I did feel my insides pulsating from the ointment 30 mins after inserting it. It felt uncomfortable. The next day I felt sore down and a burning pain when I would wipe down there and the next day I had a odor. The burning is excruciating and there is more discharge. I was trying to avoid another doctor bill and visit but this failed me. Waste of money. Just go to the doctor. I know I have a yeast infection so it's weird that this didn't do it's job. Have your doctor prescribe you pills. Save your money. Hope you feel better soon. Read More Read Less

The burning and paint the 1 day monostat caused Is ten times worse than the actual yeast infection, stick to the 3 day. Currently have a fan blowing on my vagina, diaper rash cream for babies helped.

I have a yeast infection from antibiotics. I know it’s not something else because I’m not sexually active and I have only had 2 uti’s in my life. This product basically burned my vagina so bad! Currently my vagina is swollen and I’m waiting to hear back from my doctor. I have taken 2 showers and 3 baths in the course of 3 or so hours. I think I may be finally getting some relief after using a baby soap and my removable shower head and washing myself inside the best I can for 30 minutes. I’m still scared that more will come out and trigger this massive fire crotch. DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT!!! I can’t believe it’s even on the market!Read More Read Less

Don't let reviews scare you. If you can handle a yeast infection burn you can take just a little more burn for the sake of treatment. Yes it's going to feel worse but everything always gets worse before it gets better. You're going to itch and burn which ever treatment you go with. Be strong and get it over with quickly and set yourself up for a rough day but it's just a day. Shoot if many of you can carry a baby for 9-10 months and give birth you can rough it for a day. The stuff works. Get water, snacks pad and hang out in bed with a good show. Read More Read Less

I have used a variety of treatments for yeast infections. I’ve taken diflucan and used Monistat 1, 3, and 7. I didn’t want to wait for the dr so this time I used Monistat 1 along with Azo (for quick treatment relief). Most likely because I’ve used it previously, I was definitely more prepared than many reviewers for what was to come. #1. I absolutely do not use the external cream during the treatment. If you wait a day or two after using the internal treatment it’s much less fiery on the vagina. #2. I make sure to pile pillows under my butt so that gravity cannot make the situation worse than it is. 10/10 recommend. Although I prefer to treat overnight, I woke up from the symptoms around 5:30 am so I inserted the medicine egg at about 6 am and took an Azo and went back to sleep. . The Azo was amazing at helping relieve itching quickly while I waited for the treatment to work. Having my hips up certainly kept the medicine in and prevented the burning. When I did have to get up, simple icing relieved the slight burning that was still left. Now I’m good to go. Very quick and simple. If you set yourself up for success to prevent the burning, I will always recommend the 1 day treatment. It’s the fastest way to find relief. I’d recommend the 3 day next, but you still have to be intentional about preventing leakage. It burns too. If you’re willing to wait 7 days, just go to the dr and get diflucan. 7 days of bedtime leakage just isn’t worth it. Read More Read Less

WARNING !!! I’m in more pain now then prior to using this one day. The itch & burning sensation is unbearable. Not worth using. I would consider the lower does next time because the severe burning doesn’t feel healthy. It’s only been 1 hour for me. Also the external cream has made it worst. I could not stand or sit still after applying the cream on the outside of my vagina. It did not help at all !!! Please Consider the 3 or 7 day. Worst experience ever.

I was pretty nervous to try this after reading so many bad reviews. I inserted it around 9:30pm and went to bed a few hours later, slept all throughout the night with no discomfort. I would definitely wear a panty liner or pad or some sort for the leakage, but I had a good experience with this product and it cured the infection I had going. There was no burning like described in a lot of the other reviews, and I had no discomfort.

The burning and itching is insane, this should not be allowed, it was a relief to read the other reviews but the so-called 1 day speed of this product is not worth the current sleepless night I'm having. Next time I'll just take the same thing my doctor prescribed and never do this again. Unsure what the point of trying to relieve the discomfort from the yeast infection I was already having with something so much worse.

NEVER use this product, stick to the Monistat day 7 that’s the best one to use. The monistat 1 is a extremely high dose and it swelled my vagina up! I was literally crying and had to go to my doctors the next day to do something for the swelling. It will clear the yeast infection but it is absolutely not worth the pain. I had to use ice to try to get the swelling to go down, i could barely even walk! It also made my vaginal feel warm, I had to lay down and take a whole days rest til the swelling went down. The burning is RIDICULOUS. it hurts so bad i didn’t even feel the itch anymore because it was hurting so bad. We are not exaggerating I promise it’s NOT worth it one bit. If your already using this and in pain definitely use Benadryl, that helps A LOT, it can also give you a allergic reaction because it’s so strong. I would rate this product a zero if I could. I’m the bathroom floor rolling around in pain and I cannot believe how bad this burns. Im literally shaking. This is hour 3 now. I just took ibuprofen and azo, I should have already done that but I didn’t expect this to be so excruciating. I am just in shock. Please for the love of God I hope it’s worth it and gone tomorrow it hurts so bad

I want to add my review because…well the other reviews were hilarious. Maybe a bit exaggerated, but helpful nonetheless. I decided to use Monistat 1 after an unsuccessful use of the alternative vagisil 1 dose. I got the Vagisil because i remembered how badly the monistat burns. I would consider this yi moderate/severe. With the Vagisil the swelling subsided but 4 days later I still had slight itching and the discharge had not gone away. That’s when I decided to give in and try Monistat 1. I was desperate as it would be a while before I could make it to the doctors office. I inserted the egg at 9pm, woke up around 1am in the most excruciating pain. I wiped some of the product off which helps for 10 minutes until more product start leaking out. I then googled relief options. I took an ibuprofen but I couldn’t wait for it to kick in the pain was so bad so I tried the anti itch cream. Wrong choice. I applied it and my cooch felt like I poured acid on it. I quickly wiped it off with a cold rag. I then applied diaper rash ointment (thank god I have a child still in diapers) and that helped instantly! It basically took me an hour and a half to find relief. In the past this has helped so I know it will again. You just have to get through the burning phase. Next time I’m definitely keeping some ibuprofen and diaper rash cream available from the start. Hopefully it will prevent the burning from even occurring. Read More Read Less

I can’t really say rather or not it has worked for me because I probably have scraped it all out. 30 mins after insertion….. I got the woooorrrssttt itch in my life. I wanted to remove my vagina and sit it in a bowl of ice water. I tried an ice pack…. I even tried the external cream which I’ll never try again because it was like throwing gasoline in a fire. I will never use this again. After scraping with tissue… aggressive patting and taking a Benadryl I just might make it through it night.

For those saying 1 day burns , it def does . That’s also because it’s a stinger dosage in your vagina. 7 day is the best one to be safe . One day and 3 day works but that is too much medication inside your vagina which is causing burning etc

This works! People should note that this monostat 1 ingredient is TICONACOLE other monostat is MICONOZOLE. They May be having an allergic reaction to difference in medications! All monostat is not the same. Must read label and info before administering. I think if you use it and it burns more than slightly, than next time use the miconazole monostat.
