I've decided to write a review since there are a lot of neg ones. I'll be honest, when I first took this I didn't have the most pleasant experience and reading some reviews freaked me out. Here's my history -- I was diagnosed with yeast infection last year by my obgyn of which she prescribed a one day oral medicine. It took a few days for it to work, but I don't recall having any side effect...
I wish I had read the comments before purchasing this. What started out as a slight itch turned into a monster after using this product. I used this at about 10pm right before I went to bed. By a little after 12am I woke up to a whitish discharge so a pad is a must but that wasn't all. I was Itching and burning so bad I almost cried. I went to the bathroom and rinse off with water several times an...

so I used Monistat 1 day 1200mg dose the highest dose possible. So yeah it burned like He** for about 2 hours at the most, then it died down. I just recommend placing an ice pack on your lady bits. It takes about three days for it to fully work. You'll have whitish discharge for the next two days but by the third it should be pretty clear. By the 7th day it should be back to normal looking down there. Definitely take it at night maybe a few hours before you go to bed where you can sit and relax. This way by the time you're trying to go to sleep you can actually sleep and not deal with the burning sensation. (It can be very intense). Apparently there's a smaller 1 day dose out there by monistat but I haven't come across it. So if you're afraid of the intense burning sensation try that one or one of the 3-7 day treatment. I personally just sucked it up and said it can't be as bad as giving birth! lolRead More Read Less

What ever you use DON'T use this brand! I am sitting here, it's after midnight, I am supposed to go to work tomorrow, *+*=*^, this stuff burns so bad! I have tried whipping it off, reaching up in there to try and remove it, I applied yogurt ( don't it only made it worse). I applied ice and believe it or not that did nothing. Right I am at my wits end trying to figure out how to get this to ease off some so I can go to bed!

UNREAL burning and itching when first inserted in the evening about 10am. Couldn't sleep because of the intensity of the burning and itching. Finally about 2am I got up - read all these reviews - jumped in the shower and then desperately prayed that it would stop. Used a cold wash cloth and then a cold pack which at least helped me fall asleep. But then this morning - burning and itching completely gone and the yeast infection was completely gone. Yikes, it worked but not sure it was worth it! Would definitely try something homeopathic next time!!! Read More Read Less

I developed a yeast infection so went to the store and bought monistat 1, used it at bedtime as the directions stated. When I woke up in the morning, my vagina was SO swollen! Scary swollen! I called my doctor immediately and as long as i wasnt experiencing any other complications (burning, itching, pain) he said swelling is a common side effect and to apply an ice pack on it. That is how I had spend the next 10 hours of my life. It wasn't painful but very uncomfortable to walk or sit. To add salt to the wound, the medication didn't even cure my yeast infection. The more I googled this issue, I realized this is a lot more common than most women think! I will NEvER use this medication again to say the least.Read More Read Less

Yes it burned and hurted but it makes sense considering its a 1 day treatment so its gonna be strong but 32 hours later all the infection has left and i feel no symptoms at all. Im always satisfied with this product. Ive tried all of them 1 day 3 day and 7 day. Monistat is awesome. I gave a 4 star becuse its not exactly 24 hrs but it's fairly close and definitely gets the job done.

This was my second yeast infection. This was my second time using Monistat 1, so i knew what to expect. This is supposed to work in over a 24 hr period so this is a intense product. My experience was an fairly easy. I didnt feel this burning but I did feel warm. I would say 10 hours into the product i did feel somewhat swollen 2-4 hours later that was gone and the itching was 88% gone.

Nothing could have prepared me for the intense itching I felt shortly after insertion. I was so thankful my husband was home to watch the kids so that I could lock myself in the bedroom! The only thing that helped was benadryl. A few hours later I experienced a very painful burning sensation that only ceased when the ibuprofen kicked in. It seemed for a couple days that maybe it did cure the yeast infection but the itching is returning. I so wish I had just called my doctor so I could get diflucan. Never again!Read More Read Less

This was my second yeast infection. I really wanted to save a trip to the dr so I figured I would try this out. I read some reviews and was a little worried but go it anyways. The ovule was extremely easy to insert. No issue with that. After about 20 mins of having it in I started to feel a little tingling inside of my vagina and thought oh no I'm gonna feel this crazy burn everyone is talking about. Thankfully I didn't! The tingling didn't get any worse and I slept fine. The next day I woke up and the itching/burning was gone but my vagina felt a bit swollen. As my day went on the swelling increased and it became a little difficult to walk. It didn't hurt but just felt awkward. By night time the swelling went down a bit but it was still uncomfortable. The next day the swelling was completely gone and it was starting to clear up. The day after that I felt great and was almost 100% clear. I would definitely use this product again. Even though the swelling was annoying I would prefer that over the burning some ppl felt. Read More Read Less

I just completed a round of prednisone and ended up with a yeast infection. I have never tried the one-dose before and thought this would be convenient; no messy tubes and cream night after night. Big mistake! 24 hours after inserting the little egg I was covered in a rash, and nauseas. My lady parts are swollen, burning, itching, even after 6 days. Yes, it has now been 6 days and I still have the rash, and the relief of the Y.I. is terribly slow. This product does not work like the 3 or 7 day products; I wish I had read some reviews before "splurging" on this. And to be fair, I used the Rite-Aid brand not Monistat. Read More Read Less

I started a round of antibiotics a couple of weeks ago, and I noticed, after I was done taking them, that I had developed a yeast infection. I typically buy the off brand from Walmart, but I had gone to target and this was the only one day treatment they had. Unfortunately, I used this product years ago. My mistake was in thinking that they had improved it. It did not clear my yeast infection, and I am going to have to go and buy another treatment. Needless to say it will not be Monistat. I can't believe I paid almost $14 for a product that doesn't work, and for a person who lives on a budget, this is significant. Read More Read Less

This is my first time using the 1 day ovule. Wow. Never again. My birth control pill dosage changed which caused a yeast problem. I usually use the 3 day treatment. I was burning and on fire a couple hours after inserting the ovule. I was a bit swollen too. I work 3rd shift. I ended up calling off. I could not take the burning. I tried a cool shower, but not much relief. I will never use the 1 day ovule again. I will stick with the triconazole treatment from now on.

This product worked but I was in so much pain from adverse reactions that it wasn't worth it. An hour or two After taking monistat 1 I began feeling strong lower abdominal pain and then nausea. I vomited about 3 times that night and couldn't keep food down the day after. When I woke up I felt very tired and proceeded to have a fever and muscle pains for the rest of the day. I really think the FDA should look into the safety of the drug, as I can't be the only one reacting in this way.

I wish I had this to read when I was taking Monistat 1, so I hope it helps anyone who is having a NORMAL experience. It started burning about 2 hours into taking Monistat 1. All of the reviews were telling me I must be allergic and only a few women are allergic. Of course this really worried me but I chose to listen to the other reviews explaining it was a normal side effect of putting this medicine inside me. I took it at 8pm and from 10pm to 2am I felt very uncomfortable burning. When I woke up at 7am I did not feel any burning, but when I went to wipe off what had come out, I felt slight burning again. I was also swollen from the medicine. I took a shower and gently washed myself down there just with water then went back to bed. I woke up again at noon and felt 10x better! I could wipe myself with out pain, the discharge was completely gone (this may be different for everyone) but all in all I got great results. I was really scared the night before from all the bad experiences I was reading about. My advice, if you are really scared and haven't taken anything yet, save yourself the stress and just got with Monistat 3 or 7. If you already took it, try and stick it out. Give yourself the next day to rest and if the pain is intense and unbearable then something is probably wrong (again I'm not an expert on the product) but you can expect definite pain (burning) that will prevent you from sleeping for a bit. DO NOT USE! I have used medicine before to treat yeast infection and have NEVER had a recation like I did with this. Within an hour of taking the medicine I was burning and itching so bad I almost went to ER. Upon reading other reviews I saw some women ended up with blisters, lacerations, and swollen vaginas. HORRIBLE PRODUCT. Will never use again.

I used the monistat 1 ovule insert 4 days ago. I believe it hasn't completely drained out of me because I still see the solution in my underwear. However, I haven't been discharging as I used to. Is that a problem? Also, the day I used it I was fine until that night, my vulva and lips were so swollen. woke up with a bit of relief, only had to use the external cream twice. then day 3, i had to use the external cream multiple times. it burned and itched so bad. today, the 4th day, woke up with some relief, but had to use the external cream already again. usually when i'd use it, it would soothe the burning. this merely did anything for my itching and burning. but it soothed after an hour or so. i took garlic yesterday. today i took vitamin c, garlic, cranberry pills, echinacea, acidophillus. is it okay to be taking these to help go ahead and heal my body? I'm not sure if this treatment is working. the only thing i discharge is the medicine, and it comes out in a big glob. i tried to look further at the texture. if you wipe it, there's lumps that if you open look like it's powder. is that unusual? i'm hoping this works. i work a double tomorrow and do not want to be bothered by the itching and burning. i'm just hoping to get better soon. how long til the draining stops? why did others get relief in a day or two? am i allergic, or are these the symptoms of it working? any answers, please, i would highly appreciate the help. thank you.Read More Read Less
