I've decided to write a review since there are a lot of neg ones. I'll be honest, when I first took this I didn't have the most pleasant experience and reading some reviews freaked me out. Here's my history -- I was diagnosed with yeast infection last year by my obgyn of which she prescribed a one day oral medicine. It took a few days for it to work, but I don't recall having any side effect...

I wish I had read the comments before purchasing this. What started out as a slight itch turned into a monster after using this product. I used this at about 10pm right before I went to bed. By a little after 12am I woke up to a whitish discharge so a pad is a must but that wasn't all. I was Itching and burning so bad I almost cried. I went to the bathroom and rinse off with water several times an...

I dont really know what to rate this product because i put it in at 10 pm last night, and when i woke up today at 7 im suffering intense burning and itching. Im not sure when it will go away or if it will be worth it but its so uncomfortable and worse than the original yeast infection..

I had a horrible yeast infection that I COULD NOT get rid of. I've had them before, but this was so bad. I had done the 3 day treatment and it didn't work so I decided to go with this stronger one. After inserting the ovule, about 30 minutes to an hour later, it BURNED sooooo bad. I was so uncomfortable! I couldn't sit! About two hours after inserting the ovule, the burning subsided. It has now been about 8 hours after insertion and all of my symptoms are gone! It's draining the infection (which can be a little awkward an uncomfortable) but it's working and it's working fast. I'm so happy with this. Read More Read Less

I too inserted that little Ovule of death before reading the somewhat hilarious reviews left by others. I had what I would consider a MINOR yeast infection, and I have had many in my day. I take many precautions to prevent them and have been relatively free of them for a year or so now. The only reason I considered using this product is because my husband and I are TTC and the oral medication is not recommended during the first trimester of pregnancy. I figured one and done like so many others who tried this product. I first cleaned the area gently with one of the included wipes, inserted the Ovule and put the external cream on the itchy external parts. Minutes after insertion I immediately had an intense itching/burning sensation that was almost unbearable at times. I was concerned and took to the internet to see if this was normal. After reading the reviews I immediately started to panic and braced myself for the impending doom that would become my day. The sever feeling of ants crawling around my lady parts lasted a good hour. And let me just tell you that was one uncomfortable hour. I think that by choosing to take the Ovule right away (day time) and thus having to work at a computer (sitting) probably made the difference for those who took it night before going to sleep (laying down). I am now 2 hours in and I can tell you the pain does subside and you are left with a wet feeling of fluid running out of your vagina, which is also unpleasant, but a picnic after the hour of burning I just had. Even the minor itching and discomfort I had before I inserted the devil has been tamed. If I remember I will try and update this post once the medicine has had a chance to run its full course and hopefully I will be infection free! I would in fact use this product again, but next time I will just know the firsRead More Read Less

I haven't had a yeast infection in a long time, it was really uncomfortable so I decided to take some medicine. I first got Vagasil wipes and that helped with the itching for awhile, but was not curing the infection. So I decided to try Monistat 1. I SHOULD HAVE READ THE REVIEWS!!!!!! This was the WORST thing I have ever put myself through! About 30 min after application I had intense burning! I was crying and immediately wanted this thing out of me! I sat in a cool bath for about an hour and that helped a lot, but I am still feeling a burning side affect. At one point I was even thinking about going to the ER, but other user reviews made me think it will get better. I am currently really red and swollen. I will NEVER try Monistat 1 again. I would rather keep the yeast infection...Read More Read Less

Everywhere that I've seen reviews for this medication, it's been over 90% negative. For some odd reason, I decided to try it anyway. I'm surprised to report that I experience zero pain, discomfort, burning or itching. My symptoms cleared up within 24 hours. I don't know if this factors into anyone else's failed results, but I inserted the ovule as far as it could go (probably into my cervix almost). I wonder if the extent to which you release it into your vaginal cavity plays a part in any burning sensation or discomfort as the medication begins to travel downwards and outwards. Thoroughly pleased with my results.Read More Read Less

I diagnosed my self with a YI. I've previously have one before, I used the azo yeast pills and that worked last time, but I decided to do the 1 day monostat treatment so I wouldn't have to suffer for days, so far I applied it at 9 am this morning and took a 2 hour nap and woke up with more intense burning and itching now it's been about 4 hours and I feel the medication working. You just have to put up with the pain for at least 4 hours and it does work. It's just a freaking horrible agonizing experience. Gonna do whatever I can to prevent a YI from now on, which I've noticed lots of water and minimize caffeine intake and refine sugar. Read More Read Less

I'm 16 and this is not my first yeast infection, so I know the symptoms. Instead of going to the doctor I thought monistat 1 day would be the easiest route. After inserting the egg everything was fine until about an hour later. I've never had such bad itching and burning, it is 10 times worse than before I even used the product! Taking a bath gave some relieve but not enough. This was a horrible experience and I will NEVER use it again!!!

This is the worst thing I have ever used. It burns very badly and I have not felt any relief. Today is day 3 and it feels like someone put razors down there. Please never take this, go to your GYN for the diflucan pill.

this is my second time getting a yeast infection and my second time using Monistat 1. after inserting the egg I got an intense itching and burning. it literally felt like someone was holding a lighter to my vagina. BUT if you stick through it, it's totally worth it and my symptoms are gone the next morning! just stick through it because it's worth it in the end.

Started having symptoms of a yeast infection 2 nights ago. Woke up yesterday with full blown symptoms. Itching, discharge, irritation. Used the monistat 1 at about 5 p.m. Less than 24 hours later no symptoms. Love this stuff and highly recommend it. Had a little abdominal pain after insertion but only for a few minutes. Just a little pink discharge after too but thats totally gone. Will definitely use again if needed.

I am a 15 year old girl and a few days ago I got my first yeast infection. The itching kept me up at night and I was so desperate. I told my mom and she bought me Monistat 1. I was so relieved to have a 1 day cure! I took a shower and dried off before inserting it. For the first few hours I didn't itch at all, then I went to use the bathroom. I reapplied just to be safe and ensued itching worse than before. At least 100 times worse, no exaggeration. I'm almost in tears. Please NEVER USE THIS.

An hour after inserting the pill into my vagina, I started experiencing the worst burning and itching that I have ever experienced in my life. I tried wiping it out. That did not work. I was itching down there for an hour. I finally decided to squirt water up there to rinse the stuff out. After rinsing for 20 minutes, I finally felt some relief. NEVER BUY THIS PRODUCT. You will experience major burn and itching for a couple hours, except it will feel like a full day.

I was on vacation and had a yeast infection, and knowing I was leaving on a morning flight back home, I decided to use monistat 1 day treatment. At about 20 mins. after insertion of pre-fill application, intense burning and itching ensued. I was up the whole night, could not sleep. I began drinking a lot water, and got up later in the night and noticed my genital area had swelled exponentially. As soon as I came home, I took a Benadryl to combat the itching, which did help. I applied cold washcloths to help reduce the swelling. Short answer, there is no quick cure, the 7 day treatment is the most effective. Read More Read Less

I used Monistat 1on Friday night because I have a six hour flight on Sunday and did not want to have to deal with yeast infection symptoms. I inserted the egg around 11:00 pm and went to sleep. I woke around 4:30 am and after using the restroom I felt the intense burning and itching others have described. It was then that I came online and read reviews. I think the majority of the discomfort for me was coming from the swelling and inflamation caused by the medication. I took some ibuprofen and placed an ice pack on my genitals. Within an hour the burning and itching had subsided and I was able to sleep again. When I woke later the discomfort from the medication was gone and the yeast infection symptoms are almost completely cured. Ulimately, I found this treatment to be effective. I was able to deal with the discomfort but if you are very sensitive to pain then it may not be the right choice. Read More Read Less

I had used the 3 day treatment in the past and never had a reaction so when I developed symptoms of a yeast infection I decided I would try the 1 day system this time...I inserted the ointment right before bed and within 30 minutes I could feel a burning and throbbing sensation I ignored it thinking the medicine was just doing its job..by 3 am I was on fire and starting to swell. By 6 am when I got up for work I was in pain, throbbing, burning, itching and swollen about 2 times my regular size..I literally felt like I had just had a baby. Needless to say I will never use the monistat 1 day ever again...worse yeast infection and treatment I've ever had.Read More Read Less

HOLY COW! I am taking lots of antibiotics for something else and they gave me a mild yeast infection. Thinking it wasn't really a big deal I picked up what looked to be the most effective and quick med out there. Put the egg thing in and some cream. 10 min later I started feeling that awful burn. At first it was mostly just uncomfortable but about an hour later I was punching walls and screaming bloody murder. After about 2 hours I hopped in the shower to see if that would relieve the pain. It was better but it still was awful. So I got in a cold bath and literally had to scrape the crap outa me. I immediately felt relief but it still is super painful. As of now I'm sitting in the freezing bath waiting for this burning to subside. I'm hopeful that this will cure it bc that's what most other posts have been saying... Still next time I'm just going in to get the prescription. Totally not worth it Read More Read Less

I was nervous to try this medication after reading multiple reviews stating that it makes symptoms significantly worse before they get better, but I didn't experience any further discomfort than what I already had. I used Monistat right before bed and woke up in the morning almost completely relieved of all pain and discomfort.
