I've decided to write a review since there are a lot of neg ones. I'll be honest, when I first took this I didn't have the most pleasant experience and reading some reviews freaked me out. Here's my history -- I was diagnosed with yeast infection last year by my obgyn of which she prescribed a one day oral medicine. It took a few days for it to work, but I don't recall having any side effect...

I wish I had read the comments before purchasing this. What started out as a slight itch turned into a monster after using this product. I used this at about 10pm right before I went to bed. By a little after 12am I woke up to a whitish discharge so a pad is a must but that wasn't all. I was Itching and burning so bad I almost cried. I went to the bathroom and rinse off with water several times an...

So I've been itching really bad and never had been itching in that area before. I've had bacterial vaginosis before and never ditched but I did have a foul discharge that I recognized the 3 times I did have bacterial vaginosis. Anyways I went ahead to try miconazole 1. I've had yeast 1 yeast infection before but it didn't itch. I only had discharge. So after trying this product I have agree with most other reviews. I am burning and it the most uncomfortable feeling ever. I should have chose the itch cream instead and booked a Dr. Appt. I will never decide to try anything else unless I know exactly what it is. My anxiety is increasing because I have been burning for about 2 hours. It didn't immediately burn. It started about 30 to 60 minutes after insertion. I'm laying with a cold towel between my legs with little relief. I can go to bed at all. I regret my decision and others should do exactly what Is recommended and consult with your Dr first. I've read tons of reviews about intense burning and I now I wish I had been the one to read them before hand. A vast majority of people are complaining of burning. My itching is relieved though to mention. It does say mild burning and I understood mild to be relieved in at least 1 hour and for it to not feel like your skin has been bruised or the feeling after being burnt by a hot iron. It's been 3 in half hours now. Still burn. Very upsetRead More Read Less

As soon as I took Monistat 1, I had relief from itching and pain. I used the product at work when I first arrived. I'm so glad I used it! Feeling normal again.

I'm fairly new to yeast infections. This is probably my third or fourth ever. Besides that I'm sensitive to just about everything unfortunately. I didn't want to go and be prescribed diflucan again. (Diflucan worked like a charm by the way). I didn't read any reviews or I wouldn't have bought it. But I took it around 9:38pm and went to bed. I promise you at 11:00 the burning woke me up. On the inside and out so i tried baby wipes, nothing. I decided to lay down. I couldn't take it. I got in the bathtub removed as much as I could and I lathered a loofah with summers eve sensitive wash and I scrubbed like hell. There is way less burning inside. And no burning at all on the outer skin. Maybe I didnt have one at alI idk. Hope this helps.Read More Read Less

I read the reviews, and truly some sounded horrific. So, being the weekend and not wanting to wait until Monday, I decided to try the Monistat 1 anyway. Because so many people complained of severe pain, cramping, and burning, I took a Tramadol, put the ovule in, and went to bed. I did have some itching during the night, but I woke up feeling much better. So far, it seems to have worked like a charm.

I have a pretty high pain threshold but this thing is unbearable. I might have to go home early from work. Granted, I had a pretty bad yeast infection (I didn't notice the first signs) and my vagina was pretty swollen and possibly damaged. I used this product before when the yi symptoms were milder and don't remember having any issues. Ladies beware: don't do it at or before work. I have taken two extra strength tylenols and I'm still in terrible itching/burning hell.

Honestly more trouble than it's worth. Luckily I didn't experience the vagina of fire from this product, but yet it was very ineffective. It's been a few days since I've used monistat 1 and its still burning, irritated, swollen, with an even more predominant YI. If you're going to take this do it at night when you're not going anywhere the next day, it's really disgusting when it comes back out :( if you can just go to the doctor!!

Unlike many others on this review, I had absolutely no cramping or burning. Extremely easy to use, and I felt relief within half an hour. I highly recommend this product.

So before trying the product I read a lot of reviews. And honestly many of them were scary. You need to know your body. At this point I'm only a few hours into me treatment and I can honestly say it's not that bad. It's a yeast infection so remember you were already uncomfortable to begin with. Very easy to use. I bought the one with the cream and the wipes. Put the cream on first before insertion. Overall, I would totally use this again.

Go to the doctor and get a prescription for diflucan! I learned my lesson. I figured I'd rather do a quick fix for my minor YI and treat myself. Wow what a horrible decision. Monistat 1 was a nightmare. About 20 minutes after inserting it my vagina was on fire! I was inflamed and swollen. I was worse off than before. If you have already inserted it I suggest soaking in a warm bath for an hour then lay down for two. Do not move if you can. The pain will subside. Maybe about 8 hours later the pain went away and the YI. Read More Read Less

im so glad I bought and used this product before I read all the negative reviews. Monistat 1 worked perfectly for me. I started feeling relief within 30 minutes of inserting the egg. I did feel some minor cramping (kinda like a menstral cramp) but nothing else. There was no severe burning or itching like a lot of other reviews have stated. I would definetly recommend that you try this product.

The box said mild irritation and burning may occur, but the pain I felt was not mild. It kept me up for hours and was much much worse than the pain of the yeast infection to begin with. I regret using this product. The 3 and 7 day dosages could have prevented these sever side effects, but I will NOT be using the one day treatment ever again.

I normally dont review but I feel the need to. Either I have a crazy high pain tolerance or these ladies have something seriously wrong with these other ladies. This was my second time using this medication, I was pretty sure I had a YI, but I wasnt entirely sure, but it would just NOT go away so I finally broke down and bought this before seeing a DR. Whats $16 compared to a DR visit. I washed my hands and inserted the capsule and followed the instructions. I like to lay down because this stuff is MESSY as all get out. But I was NOT in pain, there was no burning. I had a little more itching than normal but the cream that it came with fixed that. It is the next day and itching is gone as well as other symptoms. this is NOT a painful medication to use and you should bot be afraid to buy it. But if you have any doubt that you have a YI you should buy an in store test. Read More Read Less

Ok so I had a yeast infection right during the holidays and there is no way i was going to be able to go to the doctor. I have read lots of reviews and was frightened to try it. I decided to suck it up anyways and prepared myself for awful pain. Ok IT WASNT THAT BAD!!! The burning everyone is talking about only happens if you scratch down there or mess with anything in that area. DONT TOUCH IT AND IT WONT HURT!!! I'm not gonna lie it doesn't feel awesome and it is uncomfortable. Also do this treatment at night because it does leak out liquid and other non pleasant stuff. If you think that this is the worst pain in your life then you must have a very sheltered life. I promise this gives you fast results and its only one night of your life. Yes monistat isn't the best product to take if you get many yeast infections but the last yeast infection I had was 2 years ago. The reason why is the strong medicine does weaken your body (like any other medicine you take). Do your research and figure out if this is the best product for you. I think this product is great and gets rid of that nasty yeast infection. Hope this helps!!Read More Read Less

I should have looked this information up earlier today because the issues/symptoms that I now have - other women have had the same experience. I am so glad that this information was available for me to read because I was going to make an appointment to see my OB/GYN tomorrow until I read that this is a common occurrence with this medication. I strongly urge you NOT to take this medication.

I was having a normal yeast infection discharge. I went to cvs and got the one night ovual. Soon as I inserted it I started cramping badly in my pelvis area. It was so bad I had to hold my stomach and sit down. I went to stand up to go to the bathroom and it felt like someone set me on fire down there. Intense burning and itching. As I walked to occupy my mind I noticed movement made it way worse. I called my mom and went to the emergency room. I begged them to flush it out and because it had already dissolved I was forced to deal with having the reaction. Unpon my exam the doctor said I was inflamed. I was very red and swollen down there. All I could do was cry. I don't recommend this product for anyone. I have always been very sensitive down there. Next time I will make an appointment with my primary as opposed to self treating. Wish I could have got my money back.Read More Read Less

I just took Monistat 1 about an hour ago, and not even 15 minutes after I used it I have been in pain. IT'a an awful burning itching sensation that feels MUCH worse than my actual yeast infection. The side affects on the box read that itching and burning could possibly be a side affect, but they did not mention that it would keep you from sleeping to the point where you'll be writing this review trying to distract yourself from the discomfort. I definitely wish I didn't spend $20 on this product and had read the reviews before I purchased Monistat.. I wouldn't wish this horrible feeling on my worst enemy Read More Read Less

Beware ladies ! I wish I read all of these reviews before I put that ovule in me ! And hour after inserting it I had very bad stomach cramps. Then it's went into burning , redness , and swelling. I sat in a tub to get relief, took a Benadryl , and called my doctor. The office told me they never recommend the one day dosage! The burning and cramping lasted about 5 days , due to the fact that the Demon Ovule is time released and last about seven days. Worst of all after all that it didn't even cure my infection!!! I went to the doctor and she said it threw off everything it irritated me so bad. If you are going to take Monistat take the 3 to 7 days ones. They are lower in dosage strength . DO NOT take the ONE day one !!!!Read More Read Less

so I had minor itching, figured it was a yeast infection as I've had them before. nothing too serious but worth spending the money before it got any worse... within an hour I felt borderline uncomfortable and a little burny, but felt that the itch was gone and I was happy. wrong... after 2 hours extreme discomfort and painful burning sensation that was constant. I'm now in hour 6 wth little signs of side effects clearing up. tingly, burning, discomfort and unpleasant. do not use especially if you have plans or stuff to focus on, the discomfort is very distracting.
