The experience I have had with taking this drug has given me back parts of my life that I thought were lost forever. I am able to do the simple things with ease such as getting out of bed. In taking Remicade I feel like my life has been given back to me again.

I have not started treatment yet, but I had to answer the questions to get my concerns posted. SORRY! I cheated. I have read the reviews on the Web MD site associated with psoriatic arthritis and to be honest it is a little frightening. I am scheduled to begin treatment on remicade Aug. 6th. The 6 reviews I read commented that they were in more pain and the psoriasis was much worse after tre...

My husband has only had one infusion, so we really don't know if it is going to help. Humira and Enbrel didn't do anything for it.

I've had Crohn's for 31 years, started taking Remicade 7 years ago and it has been a miracle for me. After 2 resections, many hospitilizations, years of prednisone and azulfide, this treatment has literally made me feel 100% better. I noticed it's effects the very next day after my first infusion. Very grateful for it.

I'm reviewing this my second day after my first treatment. I was diagnosed with UC in 2009 and have been on lialda (and generic brands) and prednisone; usually on both at the same time. When I would get down to 15-20 mg prednisone, I would usually flare again. I took a nap the first hour or two of my treatment because the benadryl they gave me made me sleepy. After I left the hospital, I was fine. I want to say I felt refreshed and not tired at all. I have been feeling a little discomfort in the muscles of my forearms. I haven't done any strenuous activity to make my muscles sore. So IDK if that is a side affect of the remicade or not. I gave it 3/5 stars for ease of use because I don't like needles and it's always a hard mind-over-matter for me when they stick me. And also because they have trouble finding my veins (got stuck 6 times for a remicade treatment 2 weeks ago, they couldn't get a vein, and so I went in yesterday, still with bruises from the IV's, for my "first" treatment...bad first experience with the IV).Read More Read Less

I started on Remicade in January 2012, in addition to 15 mg methotrexate/week. Skin plaques on legs, torso and scalp cleared within weeks and in March I wore a dress for the first time in 10 years (for nephew's wedding). Joint pain and swelling was gone until the past 2 months and it is now almost as bad as when I started the infusions. Dosage was increased at last treatment, but cannot tell it helped. I was really impressed at first but now, I don't know if I'll continue Remicade. My current job keeps me on my feet all day so I have to do something.Read More Read Less

I have had three infusions so far. The effects have been wonderful...a real life saver. I have had no adverse side effects except for today, I have an outbreak of shingles on my back. I'm only 39 so I'm sure it is secondary to a supressed immune system. Oh well, it is worth it! Remicade is working so far! Good luck to you all.

I was diagnosed with severe UC in 2008. Tried Lialda, Asacol, 6MP, Prednisone, etc., and had horrible reactions with each. I take Benedryl & Tylenol with my Remicade infusion and no longer have any reactions except for tiredness. Life saving drug for me because I could not get out of flare and was tired of hospital stays ranging from one to two weeks at a time. I worry about the long term effects but I recommend this drug if it is your last resort.

I have been taking remicade for almost 10 years now. I have a life style I think would be impossible without it. Now, I take 9 units every 6 weeks. That 2 1/2 hour injection is worth every minute. I feel better in an hour or two. Sure I still have pain most of the time, but it is managable. I rarely take anything stronger than over the counter pain relievers. I think Remicade is a miracle drug that gave me my life back.

I'm rating it a 3 star for Effectivness and Satisfaction cause it's been 1 treatment today, but 5 because it was very easily done in the office. But so far I've read lots of other comments and everyone is talking about being tired afterwards, I'm almost wondering if those same people drink coffee or caffene and that's perks them up, both those knock me out and I am so freaking wired right now 12 hours after I had treatment it's 3:30 AM I can't sleep after a ton of both OTC and strong prescribed sleeping meds. I find for me the opposite happens, you take an energy drink and are beyond awake I take it to help fall asleep. I finally gave up after 3 hours to tossing and turning trying to sleep, I'll call the Dr in morning and report it, but really weird, but makes sense with my past. Read More Read Less

I have extreme fatigue, soreness in my hands, and am nauseated most of the time. I was on Enbrel Sure Click since 2003 with absolutely no problems. Changed to Remicade due to cost but I feel awful. Anyone else have these systems. I am really thinking of quitting Remicade. Have had three treatments.

I started Remicade after my Chron's diagnosis in 2005. I am so happy to reprt that it was life changing for me. I literally became a person with normal looking intestines- in fact I have moved to a new state and before my medical chart arrived my new docs made me have a colonoscopy before they would continue my treatments and they were shocked that they couldn't find anything wrong... I tried to tel them that I'd been symptom free for four years... so happy to have great private insurance through my husband's job that helps with the costs. If you're having trouble paying check with the drug company, they have a program to help with the cost.Read More Read Less

March 2011 I had what I was told a stomache bug. I was given and antibiotic. 2 days after starting the antibiotic I went blind! My Eye dr. said I had an inflammatory disease. It ended up being US. I was on predisone for 9 months and everytime they tried to stop it my sight would start to go. I get a disease called iritis when I have a flare up. It is a rare symptom but actually did get me treatment alot faster. I was on the three main drugs and I had side effects from all of them and I started to have UC arthritis that was very very painful. in Feb, 2012 I began taking Remicade. After the 1st treatment I was dancing around my kitchen. The day of my infusion I have to make arrangements because I take benedryl and tylenol before the infusion and I get very cold and tired suring and after the infusion. I make the appt for as late in the day as I can and I go directly home and sleep the rest of day and night. After the 1st day I am great again. I definetly notice the week before I get my infusion my joints hurt, but NOTHING like the way I felt before remicade. I had gained 50 lbs on prednisone and in the last 7 months on remicade I have managed to get 20 of it back off. I am able to do things with my family again and most of the time I feel like I did before I got sick. Remacade has changed my life. I went to eye dr this week and I have had 6 months of NO eye symptoms and I am seeing almost as well as before I became ill. I do worry about ever getting off of it or what it may be doing to my body but while I am taking it I am able to live a quality life and that is what is important to me!Read More Read Less
