The experience I have had with taking this drug has given me back parts of my life that I thought were lost forever. I am able to do the simple things with ease such as getting out of bed. In taking Remicade I feel like my life has been given back to me again.

I have not started treatment yet, but I had to answer the questions to get my concerns posted. SORRY! I cheated. I have read the reviews on the Web MD site associated with psoriatic arthritis and to be honest it is a little frightening. I am scheduled to begin treatment on remicade Aug. 6th. The 6 reviews I read commented that they were in more pain and the psoriasis was much worse after tre...

I've had Crohn's since I was 18 - that was 47 years ago that I was diagnosed. Have had so many surgeries I can't count. But the lifesaving one was in 8-1995 when they did an illeostomy on me. I was on Humira for about 7 years and it was working wonderful. BUT my Part D RX plan has a $1,577 per mo co-pay. Until I went on medicare I was on patient assistance where I only paid $5/mo but can't be on it now because of medicare. I have always had thick hair and could do anything with it but in the last 2 months have noticed a difference. Has anyone had a problem with Remicade affecting there hair? I am on every 6-8 weeks and other than feelng a little bad for the day or two after have had good results with it. Read More Read Less

I have been on Remicade since 2005, I have infusions every 8 weeks. Up until a year ago, I had no problems at all, I have been functioning normally without pain. I have been experiencing an allergic reaction, losing my hair, breaking out in hives and migrane headaches. I believe I have reached some sort of threshold, my body is no longer tolerating this drug. I am afraid I am going to have to stop this drug. I hope there is something else out there that can help me that my body will tolerate.Read More Read Less

Before I started Remicade infusions in October, 2011, I endured nearly a decade of daily painful, urgent bowel evacuations that controlled my life as well as my family's lives. Within a few months of my starting the treatment, I had improved exponentially and my severe ulcerative colitis remains well-controlled to this day. I feel like a new person, however I will remain cautiously optimistic.

I had extreme pain in my left side where i had a blockage, Remicade was my last resort otherwise i would have had the bag. After my second treaatment the pain was going away already. I have been on it for a year now and what a difference. I have pain in my feet and hands still. I was told after a yr of the treatments it would go away but that has not happened. I take the treatments every 6 weeks and the last week before my treatment I notice the paid is worse. Other than that I feel 100 percent compared to when I did not have the treatments. It does concern me with not knowing all the side effects that could happen. Its a new drug and I guess time will tell. Read More Read Less

I have been on Remicade for 9 1/2 years, also on 10 mg. of methotrexate every week, no pain meds needed. Early on I had an allergic reaction during infusion, but no problem since taking tylenol and benadryl at home prior to in fusion and solumedrol after the iv has started. It's amazing and miraculous, but I agree with those who urge vigilance re infections. I rarely even have a cold, but after reading all these scary stories re bad infections, i'll be more cautious.

Have been taking for about 2 years. Have had UC for 13 years. While Remicade seems to be working well I am noticing more and more things that were never problems for me before. RA like joint pain, nerve damage in feet, extremely sore muscles and chest pain. Also, for the first time my blood pressure meds do not seem to be working. Now also see a foot dr, Rheumatologist. Also have swelling of hands & feet. Just starting noticing hair loss and never thought about it till reading these reviews. Am worried about what this is doing to the rest of my body. Cannot get off steroids or methotrexate. Am thinking of quitting & if things get bad, surgery. Should have done it long ago. Didn't realize also the long term effects of chronic inflammation on the body.Read More Read Less

I have severe RA. I was crippled and had to use two canes to walk before treatment. I have had a wonderful experience since the infusions started a year ago. I still have some pain in my shoulders and legs but I can enjoy life again. I sometimes have a flare up but not severe. Thank you Dr. Chesner!

I took Enbrel for over 12 years with ni side effects until it became ineffective, Took 1st Remicade infusion and felt better. Most of the RA pain and swelling was gone.Had a headache for a few days. After second infusion I had severe muscle pain for a week or so. Now I am having shortness of breath and increased bp and pulse. Very tired all the time. Also increased depression. Not taking any more Remicade.

I only got to the third infusion then it made my heart beat rapidly from normal to 160 bpm (resting there in a chair) and the nurses immediately stopped the IV called my dr then and wheeled me to the ER. I stayed at the ER for many hours and then I went home. I did not see any long term side effects, but my dr said he would not give it to me due to my reaction.

I had double knee injections before receiving to help with fluid & movement & thought the relief I felt was due to the Remicade, but it turns out it was from the steroid used in the knee injections. The "good" feeling started to wear off in 3 days & now I am having difficulty breathing & feel like I have an elephant sitting on my chest with a sometimes rapid & irrigular heartbeat. I don't like the feeling of my chest hurting so bad. This was what I was afraid of!

THE ONLY REAL PROBLEM I HAVE HAD IS THE STRESS OF WORRYING ABOUT THE MANY CANCERS YOU CAN GET DUE TO USING THE DRUG. I HAVE TO GO TO MD Q 8 WEEKS FOR AND IV INFUSION OF REMICADE. THE CONSTANT WORRYING AND CONCERN ARE HARD FOR ME.
