I have been taking this for almost a month and a half, so I think it's been long enough to review. I have never taken any birth control pills before and got mine from Planned Parenthood. Foremost, it's effective since I'm not pregnant (let's keep it that way for now). Periods are slightly lighter, but I've always had a light period. I have acne-prone skin. My skin has slightly improved, but still ...

I only took one pill for one day (I know not long at all), but immediately felt a couple side effects and as the day went on, I was experiencing many many symptoms. It freaked me out and I'm not going to take it anymore. At first I felt nauseous and dizzy/headache. Then after a couple hours the crazy mood swings and emotional roller coaster kicked in. I was going through all the emotions-angry...

I started taking this birth control pill in May. First month seemed fairly normal, breasts were hurting and tender for a couple of weeks but it regulated my period pretty efficiently. Fast forward to now, July, 2 months have passed, now I'm spotting/light barely there bleeding and have been for almost two weeks. Every time my boyfriend and I go to have sex the bleeding gets induced and then it's like I'm on my period right then and there. I'm so sick of this. Made me gain weight +15 lbs. and I have been dry down there as well. I'm so disappointed because the first month was pleasant enough for me to have confidence in my period being normal. This is SOOOOO frustrating and getting in the way of my sex life and I will be switching over.Read More Read Less

This has probably been the best bc I have ever used. I have been taking it for seven months now, my acne has cleared up, and I have not had the severe cramping or missing periods that I used to be a victim to. Only makes me feel nauseous if I take it hours later than my usual time.

I've been on Aubra about 6 weeks now, and it's been miserable. My breasts were extremely sore for 2 weeks, and I have been bleeding heavily for almost 4 weeks now! This is not how birth control is supposed to be.

I've been taking Aubra for almost 2 months now. During the first week, I did experience some breast tenderness, spotting, and I did break out. It has all gone away on its own. No major issues with this pill.

The previous birth control I was gave me dramatic mood swings and nightmarish periods. I only restarted birth control because without it my period is irregular (went about 3-4 months without a period when normally it might just skip a month). So they started me on Aubra which had lower hormone levels and I don't have a complaint yet. It works (if you take it right) and my period is regular. I do get randomly emotional around the time of the placebo pills, but other than that there have been no breakouts, breast tenderness/growth, or extreme mood swings (when I'm not around that time of the month).Read More Read Less

I've been taking Aubra for 3 months now almost 4 and am pretty disappointed. The first month was actually golden, and I was thrilled because at first, I thought "oh my gosh, what do people complain about?" Well now I know. The second month, I broke out horrible which I usually don't break out to the point where scars are left behind. I was taking my pill every night around the same time and one night I forgot which was my fault. I took it the very next morning but started bleeding. Then, I bled for about a week and a half to 2 before my sugar pills were supposed to come into play. During my sugar pills I slowly started to get a lighter menstraul cycle and then out of nowhere I got another period for two more weeks. A whole month of bleeding. This month I was taking the pill, didn't forget once and started bleeding 1 and a half week early again. It's ridiculous and almost feels not worth it. Loss of sex drive, increase of acne and blood. Not fun. I am definitely going back to the doctors to change brand. My first experience with birth control is ruined.Read More Read Less

These pills caused me to break out dramatically! Since I've been on them I've been extremely emotional. Haven't really experienced any headaches nor bloating. Highly recommend a different brand!

Extreme mood swings, nausea, irritability, anxiety...the list goes on... If you're on aubra and you feel like you're losing your mind, it might actually be the pill

I've just started the pill that I got from Planned Parenthood, and I seem to not be able to stop bleeding I've been going for 12 days straight now. I am very some what relief to see the same thing happen to others because I was about to lose it. My period is usually for 4-5 days and I know my symptoms very well, this time I've had terrible acne and my boobs are a bit bigger within days of taking the pill I am highly considering to stop and just going back to my normal routine of not taking birth control and just sticking to the old fashion. Well I'm not pregnant, so it works! However I did get 24/7 nausea and severe depression on Aubra. I almost dropped out of school and ended my relationship. I was inexplicably sad all the time, crying over nothing. One of my friends started it around the same time as I did and she had no ill side effects at all. So it depends on your body, but I did not react well to it. I'm now off the pill permanently and my depression went away within 2 weeks of stopping the pill.

I have taken this for a month cycle (full pack). it took a few of the inactive pills to get me to have my period, I took the first inactive on a Thursday and did not get my period until Sunday. This has given me headaches, but not severe. It has not caused any "dryness" as the other inquires are mentioning. it has actually caused me to feel wet all of the time, which gets uncomfortable. but I'm sure it is better than being bone dry.

I've been on it for 5 months. -Regulated my period -I'm not pregnant so it does the job -Easy to take, I'm good at remembering. I take it in the mornings. -My boobs have grown and will feel sore and sometimes hurt -I will break out often and it annoys me -some weight gain -HEADACHES/MIGRAINES. Overall, does its job, be prepared for side effects.

I would agree with the other reviewers when it comes to vaginal dryness and extreme emotional episodes. Is there any way to fix this? Also, it did take 3 months to regulate my period but all is okay.

This is the second month I take this Birth control. I was switched from my old pills to Aubra. I am 25 years old and maintain a somewhat healthy diet, I am active and have never had any problems with my skin. These past 2 months I have had some pretty bad break outs.

I've been on Aubra for about 4 months now, and I absolutely love it. The pills are small and circle-shaped and very easy to swallow, and it comes in a very convenient package with the days of the week labelled. No nausea, no weight gain (although my boobs are a little bigger now), and my skin has cleared up. In addition, my menstrual cycle is now regulated (beforehand, I would get my period once every four months) and the cramps are pretty much non-existent. I've never had such great results. Within the first two months, I was experiencing some vaginal dryness, but I'm not sure if it was due to the birth control. It's okay now - I just used lube temporarily, and now I don't need it anymore.Read More Read Less

This drug will prevent you from an unwanted pregnancy but it will make you so dry down there that you can't even have sex (yes its a side effect if you don't believe me). I have no sex drive and when I try to have sex it feels as if I'm losing my virginity all over again. It makes sex impossible. It hurts to even wash because its so dry. Plus it makes you very emotional to the point where you lose it. I stopped taking it today. I'm 18 and I'm not going through menopause. The dryness occurred with in 2 days of using it. Its been a month. Read More Read Less

I took Alesse/Aviane for about 3 years and LOVED it. I was switched to Aubra when I started using Planned Parenthood. In terms of cramping, irritability, weight gain, blemishes, and cravings it has worked the same as Alesse/Aviane did. Cutting down refined sugar helps my PMS symptoms more than a switch in birth control. I have always ran on the light to medium flow side, but Aubra has made my flow so light it's almost impossible to use a light tampon. It's more like heavy spotting, and it is inconvenient. I haven't gotten pregnant, so that's effective. Overall, my experience has been good with Aubra (millions times better than Lo Loestrin Fe-the worst for me).Read More Read Less
