I have never been on any birth control other than using condoms and decided to get an iud, Skyla more towards ladies who haven't had a child. Did lots of research and it is a shame that you only find negative and scary stories online bc no one will take the time to write a good review. I am a woman who does not ever see side effects from any medication, everything always works as it states on ...

I went in to get skyla inserted today. Most painful experience EVER! It was like really bad cramps x1000. After inserting my doctor said I should be fine after 5 minutes. I wasn't. I was in so much pain I was shaking uncontrollably and almost fainted. The nurses said my body just "rejected" it. Needless to say my doctor had to remove it. Worst experience with birth control ever.

Ive had a skyla in for over a year now.In the last year my breakouts have been constant. I mean CYSTIC acne. Terrible breakouts, and I gained 30 lbs, and 5% body fat. I workout frequently (at least 5 times a week) but I just can't seem to lose the weight. Ive also experienced depression and severe fatigue. I have developed problems remembering things, and I started cramping up terribly recently. (which is what made me want to have it removed) On the plus side, we don't use condoms and I haven't gotten pregnant! It made sex a lot more spontaneous. :) Obviously birth control is different for everyone! Im planning on going on a pill with different hormones. :) best of luck to you!Read More Read Less
