After my 6th afib bout in 5 years and 4 electro cardioversions my cardiologist suggested cryoablation. My brother had this done over a year ago. I am one of the worst patients he has... Replaced Pradaxa with Eliquis. Replaced Warfarin with Pradaxa. Warfarin caused rectal bleeding and numerous surface skin bruises. Pradaxa did not alleviate rectal bleeding. With Eliquis I have not had rectal bleeding since starting it 3 months ago.

I wanted to try this drug because I hate Coumadin from prior experience. Although it is expensive, the cardiologist believes it is already beginning to work in less than a month and she doesn't think I will need a cardioversion. I don't have the side effects I did with Coumadin, I really don't have any side effects at all to report. The only down side is she wants me on it for the rest of my life, ouch in the wallet. I can only hope the FDA begins to market a generic so I can save some money, but still get good results. I would recommend it for anyone with A-Fib.Read More Read Less

I have been on it for 6 weeks and will continue for at least 6 months--kind of pricey and twice a day can be a challenge. Wish I didn't have afib.

My only compalint with this med is that it requires twice daily doing. Otherwise, no side effects and a huge improvement over gastric and hemmorroid distress I was getting with Pradaxa.
