After my 6th afib bout in 5 years and 4 electro cardioversions my cardiologist suggested cryoablation. My brother had this done over a year ago. I am one of the worst patients he has... I never take my rythmol or Toprol... I can take a years worth of drugs, or get zapped once every 12 months. Anyway this time they put me on eliquis in prep for ablation. My doctor is very popular and its a 7 we...

Horrible side effects including joint pain, fatigue, and skin burning. Side effects came on gradually over 8 months until they were so severe it felt as if I had the flu with my skin on fire. Symptoms started to abate within two days of discontinuing under doctor’s supervision. You could not pay me to take this drug again.

I was given Eliquis to replace Warfarin for no reason other than the ease of not having to do INR's. I started losing my hair at a scary rapid rate, I was tired all the time and bruised more. I had a Hematoma the size of a baseball on top of my foot after a small jar fell from a cabinet. I never had any problems like that while on Warfarin. I changed back to Warfarin, my hair stopped falling out and I am no longer too tired.

Easy to use, although I have set an alarm to remind me to take the evening dose. Bruising is more obvious but disperses quickly. The copay card I got with the drug info is keeping my copay to $10 per month.

Since I have been on this medication for P.E. I have experience headaches shortly after I take this med. and nausea, extreme muscle fatigue, shortness of breath and just recently I began coughing up blood and excessive sweating. I will be seeing my Dr. tomorrow for a cat scan and to discuss my side effects and possibly to change to a different med.

Doc put me on this leading up to my ablation surgery. So far the only negative I've had is tiredness. One positive however is the ED has all but ended. Just had four very positive experiences in less than 24 hours with my wife. Holy crap, it's like I'm 19 again in that department.

On it for a short amount of time, 3 weeks. So glad i was told about the eliquis $10 monthly copay card. Could not have afforded $360/mo. Hoping its not long term, as i started with a dvt from hormones taken pre surgery. Turned pulmonary embolism. Just glad i dont have many restrictions other than not eating grapefruit.

Was on Zarelto but had urinary tract bleeding. Doc put me on Eliquis about 6 months ago. I've developed some diminished kidney function results with the CMPs. Also slight reduction in RBC and slight increase in BUN. Experiencing fatigue and slight nausea. Waiting to talk more with doctor.
