Today marks my one year on Qsymia and I wanted to see if there were any long term affects so I decided to read these comments. To my surprise there doesn’t seem to be any long term users….most are 90 days or less. I am pleased to say in that since I started this drug I have lost 138lbs and I am going to continue until I lose 75 more. This drug is really for those who need it. I have but back ...

Have taken the drug for 75 days and have lost a grand total of 5 pounds. Reduced intake and exercise is much more effective without all the various side effects. I experienced about seven of the course of the trial.

I have been on Qsymia for over a year and the weight lost has been slow but steady. I have lost a total of 48 lbs. It is not a miracle drug but needs to work with a reduced diet and exercise. I could not lose weight before even working out 3 hours a day. Once given Qsymia, I have slowly lost weight and am very happy with my progress. Initially, there was some side effects including the food tasting funny which really helped curve my appetite and the one side effect that has stayed is my hands/feet are always cold. The side effects are not too bad.Read More Read Less

Day 7 stopped treatment. Had just done the Whole 30 a month before starting this drug and lost 14 lbs just eating non processed foods. With this drug I have had daily headaches, itchy hands, major constipation and all together weak feeling. I think I would rather eat healthy than put my body through the stress of this drug.

I am only on my second day of taking Qsymia and I feel like I am starving to death. I feel like it is having the opposite effect on me. Is that possible? Is this normal in the beginning?

I wrote my first review of this drug on February 20th. At the time, I was pleased because I had lost nearly 13 pounds in one month's time. Unfortunately, upon having bloodwork done at my doctor's office during a follow-up visit, it was discovered that the Qysmia was causing extreme acidosis in my blood. I had to be taken off of it immediately. I just want others to be warned about this terrible side affect. Although it did help me lose weight, my doctor determined it was quite bad for my blood. Qysmia also gave me terrible, terrible pain in my knee joints to the point I thought I had developed arthritis at 35. I'm very bummed that it had such bad affects on me. I will be trying Belviq next since apparently it has much less severe side effects.Read More Read Less

I am a 45 year old woman who is about 100 lbs overweight. I was hoping this drug would help but sadly I was disappointed. I was on Qsymia for a month and despite staying on a diet of 1500 calories/day and exercising, I did not lose ANY weight. The side effects made me decide to quit taking it. If I was losing weight, I would have been willing to put up with painfully tingling feet and constant dry mouth, but with no weight loss it was just too much for me.

At first I was pleased with a few pounds lost, but the headaches and stiff necks aren't worth it in the long run. It also may increase the ringing in my ears. No thanks. However, a smaller dose may be effective with less side effects.

I used this for 2 months and lost 32 lbs, however I became anxious, depressed and completely not myself. When I stopped taking qsymia I had withdrawal symptoms, rapid heart rate, more anxiety.

Took this for 8 months and just stopped. Between this and a low carb (50 g) low cal(900 cal/day) diet I have lost 120 lbs for a total of 130 lbs down. No exercise. Key here is that you need to modify your diet, the pill is not going to do it for you. Google paleo diets, eat like a caveman, limit your carbs.

I am 35 years old. I did not begin struggling with my weight until I turned 33. I began taking Qsymia on January 19th, 2015. As of February 17th, I am down 12.6 pounds. This drug is working. It is curbing my appetite, helping me to eat smaller portions, and to simply eat less in general/not snack as much/not pick up food when I'm not actually hungry. Regarding side effects: During the first week of taking the two-week trial I struggled a bit with insomnia which passed by week two. During the first and second week of the 7.5 dosage (which I am still currently on) I had terrible pain in my knee joints for some reason. This too, has subsided, thankfully. I will continue to take this medication as it is enabling me to lose weight and that is, after all, my ultimate goal. For me, 12.6 pounds in one month is a great start!Read More Read Less

I'm active, but don't work out as much as I should. I don't eat fast food, don't eat red meat or pork, don't eat greasy food, don't even eat sweets, but yet I continue to gain weight so I went to my Dr. to see if he would prescribe Belviq as I had a friend using it that had success. My Dr. had success with his patients and Qsymia so he gave me that instead. After taking it for a month I had to go off. I had headaches the first three days, but those stopped. I have had the worst dry mouth ever, to the point where it wakes me up at night and I have to drink water, which then causes me to wake up again a half an hour later to go to the bathroom. It's like I ate dry chalk dust. My tongue was so dry it was cracking. Additionally, about a half an hour after taking the medication my feet and hands got hot and I had a stinging/needle sensation. Finally I was not able to sleep well at all. To top off all of the side effects (which I would have over looked) I actually gained weight during the month. Many people say that food doesn't taste good and that they have no appetite. I didn't experience any of that. In fact my stomach seemed to growl more when I was taking Qsymia. In my follow up Dr. visit he agreed to give me a trial of Belvia so we will see if that works with less side effects.Read More Read Less

This has been a great weight loss drug for me. I have PCOS which has always made it difficult for me to lose weight, despite eating healthy and exersise. What I really felt I needed was some sort of metabolism booster. This has done the trick. I've been on it about 90 days so far and lost about 16 pounds. Was hoping for a little more weight loss by now, but i'll take it. With the PCOS this is the most i've lost in FOREVER so i'm happy. My clothes are loose and they haven't been loose on me in YEARS. Also, my moods are much better. I used to be depressed and suicidal and now i'm happy almost all the time and feel elated and energetic (the opposite of what most reviews say so maybe I'm affected differently since my baseline moods are generally unahppy, again due to hormonal imbalances from PCOS). I can't wait to see if i'll lose any more weight in the next 90 days. I started at with the 3.75 for two weeks, did 30 days on 7.5 and now 11.25 for about 60 days.Read More Read Less

I have been taking 15 mg for 6 months and haven't lost any weight. However, I haven't regularly exercised or dieted. I've noticed a decreased appetite and that I rarely think of food. But then, one would think I'd have lost weight. At $212 for a 30 day prescription, I guess I'd expect more. It does make me irritated easily and leaves a dry metallic taste in my mouth. I guess the positive is that I haven't gained weight?

I lost three pounds on the regular dosage in the past three months, with not working out regularly and starting it at the beginning if the holiday season. It has been increasingly hard for me to lose, as I am starting menopause. I have suffered some side effects from this drug, however which are causing me to stop it. Mainly anger issues that prevent me from working together with coworkers, and agitation. Its too bad because I think that it helped suppress my appetite somewhat.

I have been on this Qsymia for 40 days now and lost 25 lbs. I have not had any side effects to date, beside carbonated beverages tasting bad. I wish my doctor would let me stay on it for longer than 90 days!
