This will be my 3rd time to take Chantix. Believe me it works. The 1st time I did experience mood changes and had to stop taking after one week. However a couple of years later I took Chantix again and it is amazing how it takes the desire for smoking away from you. I stopped taking it because of the nausea but it was like a wonder drug to take that craving away. I am starting it for a third time and will carefully watch with the side effects - nausea the main one - eat beforehand, etc. Unless it causes some other major side effect I plan on this being my success story. I have recommended it to many people because if side effects are not a problem it really does take away the craving which is the reason most people have so much trouble actually quitting. I'm hoping this is going to be my success story with Chantix!Read More Read Less

I did suffer from nausea and stomach upset - but so worth every uncomfortable minute. I am smoke free for 8 days. Chantix made the quit so easy . I will warn against drinking alcohol while taking chantix -

I wanted to quit after 18 or so years addicted but did not want to experience the side effects of mood changes, anxiety, and longing for a smoke. Chantix has provided a relief from that and I am impressed beyond belief how well. I am on day 9 and am only experiencing minor cravings for a cig first thing in the morning and after my dinner meal. By my quit day I was smoking maybe 2 cigs a day from approx half pack. I was horrified to take this drug based on possible side effects and reviews found here. I have been fortunate that they have been minimal (gas initially, spaciness/grogginess/forgetfulness). I love vivid dreams so that has not been a problem for me nor have they been disturbing. For those who want to quit and need some very effective help I would certainly recommend Chantix. Read More Read Less

During the first week this medication was fine and I even experienced an energy boost. The third day of the second week I started feeling bloated and uncomfortable. By the fourth day I was having stomach pain and stopped using this.

The first week I still smoked, but it was signifantly less than usual. I had my quit date a followed through with it. I have not had a cigarette in over a week. The side effects I have encountered so far and this I found to be in transition of the increasing dosages were; nausea, headache, bloating, fatigue and stomach pains. I continue to have the bloating and reduced my dosage. i was up to 2mg a day and now have reduced it to 1mg a day. It is still effective. I amazed at how it really removed the craving for nicotine away. This has been the kickstart I needed and look forward being a non-smoker for good. The drug helps but you also have to have the mindset of becoming a non-smoker. Read More Read Less

Can't poop, weird dreams, when I do sleep. Insomina, most times. Now I just once in a while want a puff but thats about it it's been close to a month now.so not to bad. Except now I want to at times take a 9 iron and beat something or someone. So I'm thinking I might need to stop taking these now.

I am day 4 of the program. I read the reviews, and followed advice to eat well before taking the pill, drink lots of water with the pill. I have not had any nausea, constipation, or mental changes. Still smoking a pack a day. 2 days from my quit date. Hope it starts working better by then. No noticeable sleep issues. I have insomnia constantly, so cant tell a difference yet. Keeping fingers crossed!

I started feeling paranoid and anxious 2-3 after I started taking chantix. A week later I notice I really haven't been eating much, so loss of appetite. Mood swings are severe but being bi-polar doesn't help much. But after 7 days I am not smoking as much. I went from 1 pack a day to smoking 1 pack in 3 days. Hope this'll work I am 28 and smoking since I was 11. I am ready to quit.
