I have IBS and discovered that Maalox contains sorbitol, which is a no no for that condition. I don't understand why they need to put sorbitol in something that is supposed to be used for nausea, stomach problems when it causes gas, diarhhea, and stomach pain.

I have a broken leg/ankle which got infected and was put on numerous antibiotics after the wound was cleaned in surgery. After numerous boots of extreme diarrhea they wanted to put me on Imodium but I get blocked for days so that was unacceptable so they put me maalox. Upon taking 2 doses the diarrhea got much worse. Why would they put me on masllox when one of major side effects is diarrhea
