I have been on Xarelto for one month. For the first 2 weeks I had no side effects but the longer I stay on it the more I have noticed that I am exhibiting symptoms I have never had. I am having muscle spasms around my eyes and eyelids. I have seen an opthalmologist and all is fine but they continue and are very annoying. I see that a side effect of this drug is muscle spasms. Also, I am itching a...
My family member suffered a fatal cerebral hemorrhage related to xarelto use. This drug should be banned!

After being admitted for a massive DVT, I have been put on Xarelto, and I am having all kinds of side effects. Massive rash and itching and it gets worse the longer I take the drug. I am tried all the time, and I am getting alot of dizzy spells. My gums are bleeding all the time. The cost of the medication is excessive. The side effects are making it hard for me to be able to go to work each day. I will be seeing my GP to discuss other options. I can not go on with this rash and itch. It makes it hard to be able to do anything normalRead More Read Less

I have been taking Xarelto for a little over a year now after I had a second blood clot in a deep vein. Since then I have not had any other blood clot. However, I feel anxious more often with frequent mood changes. I wonder how many people out there who are taking Xarelto have the same experiences or have recommendations on how to address these issues

This medication causes severe rash and itching on the chest, arms and face. Is there something that relieves these symptoms. The medicine works, but the itching and rash is unbearable. I cannot take Atarax or Benadryl they remain in my system too long, and cuse extreme drowsiness. Tried Benadryl cream it does not work.

I started taking Xarelto in January 2014 for pulmonary embolisms and I am taking this through mid August. I was supposed to be off the drug in July, but since I am taking a few flights in August for my vacation, my doctor prefers I stay on Xarelto until my vacation is over. I feel fine on the drug, so far, but I did gain 20 pounds for no apparent reason. I eat healthy (always have), no junk food, no soda, no sugar, so I am assuming this is a side effect. I can't eat any less, and I am still gaining. I also noticed that my hair is becoming thinner and when I comb or brush my hair, the hair loss is more than usual. I also have noticed that my usual aches and pains seem a bit more painful, but I'm not sure if it's the drug or just aging, in general. I do love the ease of the drug and it has worked for me. My embolisms have completely cleared and were clear after two months on the drug.Read More Read Less

I had serious problems taking Xarelto. My muscles swelled and I experienced severe joint pain. My doctor paid not attention and told me he could not take me off the medication because I ran the possibility of getting a stroke. My internist finally gave me prednisone to combat the swelling and discomfort.

I'm only 27 years old and I have to take Xarelto for the next six months. The birth control pills I was taking caused a blood clot in my leg then it traveled up to my lungs. I really dislike this med because, I am tired a lot and I have numbness in my left foot and left hand, also sometimes my vision is a kind of blurry. I really think I should talk to my doctor about getting on some different med.

I am 65 yrs old, have had chronic A-Fib for 30 yrs and was on warfarin. Kept having three+ hour nosebleeds. Was switched to Xeralto just over a year ago and have not had any bleeding problems whatsoever. Have not experienced any bad side effects and I am on a program where I pay only $10/month for the drug. And I like the fact I can eat all the green salads and veggies I want which you can't do while taking warfarin.
