I have been on Xarelto for one month. For the first 2 weeks I had no side effects but the longer I stay on it the more I have noticed that I am exhibiting symptoms I have never had. I am having muscle spasms around my eyes and eyelids. I have seen an opthalmologist and all is fine but they continue and are very annoying. I see that a side effect of this drug is muscle spasms. Also, I am itching a...

My family member suffered a fatal cerebral hemorrhage related to xarelto use. This drug should be banned!

Been using xarelto for 6 months. Didn't realize that my extreme exhaustion could be related to this drug. Been experiencing extreme itching on head, arms and legs for about a month. Looking into having a filter put in...don't want to take this drug for the rest of my life.

Had a DVT and PE and was put on Warfarin. About 6 months later got another DVT and PE so I was put on extremely expensive Lovenox injections ($100 per injection). Then Pradaxa came out but that gave me severe hemorrhoids after about 2 months which my hematologist denied that Pradaxa was the cause. Then Xarelto came out and my hemorrhoids cleared up after a week and I have been happy since with no side affects.

So far, no adverse reactions. Only one bad note - had to stop taking my arthritis medications, now my arthritis pain is back so I am seeking other avenues of treatment for my arthritis pain.

I'm 72 male and found out last week I had A-FIB. Was given Xarelto 20mg once a day. After 7 days I had weekness in legs, joint pain in knees and ankles. I stopped the meds and called the doctor. He is having me take Pradaxa 150mg 2 times a day. We'll see how it goes. I will get off it the first sign of pain. I think the reason Xraelto begins with an X for expermental. We are testing the drug.

Bloody urine. Cardiologist took sample. Came back with bloody urine. Urologist urine sample showed +4 blood in urine. PCP is taking me off Xarelto for 4 days. Leg, knee and abdominal pain. Scheduled for Cycstoscope next week to check bladder. A-fib has stopped but b/p is still high.

I'm very sensitive to pharmaceuticals and prefer natural remedies and nutrition. I was put on Xarelto because of an acute onset of a-fib. I have since had successful cardioversion and want to get off the drug because of near constant headache. I am going to discuss with my doctor using 1000 iu Vitamin e as a blood thinner instead.

I am taking it because of 4 DVT's, 2 PE's, 2 TIA's and was diagnosed with polycethimia. I am allergic to warferin. I have been on it for 1 year 3 months. I had one TIA while taking it because I got sick the evening before and vomited 30 min after taking my 20mg tablet. I was afraid to take another not knowing how much I got. The next day around 1 p.m. I had a TIA. I was stupid because I seen the pill in my vomit and the rust color coating was still around it. I am also loosing hair like crazy and there is no baldness in my family. I had a full head before but I hate to comb or wash my hair because so much falls out. On the bright side I am still alive and I just turned 41.Read More Read Less

I have been taking Xarelto since my diagnosis of A-Fib about 1 year ago. Knock on wood, I have not experienced ANY of the side effects from this medication. Thinking of the alternative, Coumadin..... would be NOT a great thing for me. Too many labs and constant follow up.

My mom had an hemangioma on her heart and had it removed. 3 weeks late had to go back in the hospital to have her heart shocked. Left the hospital the next day. Gave her Xarelto . About 5 days later she had a seizure. Found out she had a brain tumor. Never saw any symptoms. Would Xarelto bring that on? Has anyone had the same think happen?

I had two large blood clots in my lungs in December 2013. Doctor put me on Coumidin at first but had a terrible time regulating it. Changed to Xarelto and have had good results. But was not told that the primidone that I was taking would interfere with both blood thinners. It gave me severe back pain and actually interfered with my speech and caused confusion. Now that I am off Primidone everything is ok.

Xarelto is easy to take, but the side effects are horrible. I took this drug for less than 2 months, and ended up in the hospital for 4 days with severe bleeding. Had to have a blood transfusion. I am very weak, long road ahead to recovery. I have missed 2 weeks of work. It's been a nightmare!!!! I'm truly lucky to be here. Ladies if you need a blood thinner, and you are still having your period. PLEASE do not take this.

I was diagnosed with Rt PE 2 weeks after Rt. Colon surgery. I've been on Xarelto 6 months short 1 day. Now my docter wants me to another 6 months. I don't think so due to the side effects but afraid not to due to the risk.

After only 2 weeks of taking Xarelto I developed a strange itching on my arms. I was on vacation and that night my arms and scalp itched so much. I took some benedryl which helped, but immediately called my doctor's office to get off the stuff right away when I read these reviews of this drug. I had no problem at all with warfarin and am back on it now and my arms feel better.

Had multiple PE's from blood disorder and have been on Xarelto 20 mg/day for 5 months. So far, no side affects and feel normal again. I can exercise hard and my aerobic capacity has come back. Only downside is not being able to play hockey, bummer!

I am taking Xarelto after a DVT and PE. Overall my experience has been good so far. I just reduced dosage from 15 mg 2x per day to 30 mg 1x per day. I have had 2 side effects: extremely heavy 8 day menstral cycle with lots of golf ball size clots, and increased sweating.

I was on Warfarin for a while after multiple DVT's four years ago but blood monitoring was difficult to regulate consistently. I was put on Lovenox injections for a year or so. I am on Xeralto, 20mg, one pill a day, for more than a year now. It has worked wonderfully for me. No side effects. I used to feel tired and out of breath quickly in the begining but I staretd excercising regularly (walking, sit ups, push ups, and light weight training) and now I am feeling great. Not feeling tired anymore and can play tennis regularly once a week without getting out of breath very quickly.Read More Read Less
