I have been on Xarelto for one month. For the first 2 weeks I had no side effects but the longer I stay on it the more I have noticed that I am exhibiting symptoms I have never had. I am having muscle spasms around my eyes and eyelids. I have seen an opthalmologist and all is fine but they continue and are very annoying. I see that a side effect of this drug is muscle spasms. Also, I am itching a...
My family member suffered a fatal cerebral hemorrhage related to xarelto use. This drug should be banned!

I have antiphospholipid syndrome and recently had 2 DVT's. i have been on warfarin for 8 yrs due to prior DVT's? Just starting xarelto today and I'm nervous for the change in meds. Dr strongly encourages the effectiveness of xarelto with reoccurring clots. Anyone else on xarelto wit APS?

The only thing I have noticed is itching under my skin on my hands, seems like it is in my knuckles. My Dr. has prescribed an ointment, very strong and it doesn't seem to be working.

I've been on Xarelto for a couple of months without any s or s associated with unwanted bleeding. However, my intermittent undiagnosed dysrhythmia has completely gone away. This is a positive side effect for me using this drug.

I've just begun taking this . I have Factor V Leiden, and have gotten blood clots in my left leg several times. I was on Warfarin for 13 years, and have recently switched. I now have a rash and itchiness on my abdomen, and I feel, not dizzy, but a little less alert. Also, I am very sleepy, late in the morning, although I take the medicine before bedtime.

I was taking birth control for 7 years, and had problems with phlebitis early on - which cleared up and went away - no issues for 5 years and then all of a sudden this past January I was diagnosed with a deep vein blood clot in my calf. After suffering through all the initial changes of medicine, the doc recommended this. Fortunately I have had no issues at all with this, no side effects, no bloody stools, no overly easy bruising, no reaction to very small amounts of alcohol - only ingested on a few occasions. I am very satisfied and relieved that this medicine has worked so well. Only 3 more months of treatment, then hopefully I will be back to normal.Read More Read Less

Took Fragmin daily shots prior to Xarelto use. I am hypercoagulable and have been on Coumadin and Fragmin for years. Hard to regulate in me with these so I'm glad to try Xarelto. So far, slight bruising which at first I thought was drastic but have decided it is just my body regulating the new drug. So nice not to have to inject daily. Keeping up with shots and disposal of syringes is very nice. Hope it works out well for us all.

Dr left me on Plavix too while starting Xarelto. He didn't check kidney function. Had rectal bleeding within 10 days. Taken off Plavix, continued Xarelto. Having back and kidney pain now; also, having severe pain in bottom of feet. Dissatisfied.

Big problem if you have osteoarthritis. Can’t take Nsaids such as Aspirin, Ibuprofen and Aleve among others. So I have thin blood that prevents strokes so that I can continue on in extreme arthritic pain. Don’t know why the Doctors don’t put me back on Aspirin.

Since starting this medicine I am having blood in my stools. I am going to consult my doctor about this and it's severity. Not major bleeding but noticible .
