I have been on Xarelto for one month. For the first 2 weeks I had no side effects but the longer I stay on it the more I have noticed that I am exhibiting symptoms I have never had. I am having muscle spasms around my eyes and eyelids. I have seen an opthalmologist and all is fine but they continue and are very annoying. I see that a side effect of this drug is muscle spasms. Also, I am itching a...

I have been taking Xeralto for 6 weeks now. I think it's a Godsend because the last time I had a DVT I had a difficult time regulating my PTINR. I have noticed extreme fatigue while taking it. I am concerned there is no FDA-approved way to stop bleeding if needed. Almost too good to be true, which worries me. No reported blood in stool/urine as others have noted.

In preparing for open heart surgery it was discovered that I have two blood clotting disorders; protein s deficiency and prothrombin gene mutation. This medication is much easier to take than warfarin. No need for frequent monitoring and diet restrictions. The only draw back is that there is no testing, leaving me to wonder how we really know it is working.

my sister was on this drug for 10 months and I thought she was going to die. Low hb, severe fatigue, muscle spasms in her back that sent her to the ER 7 times by ambulance, bleeding from her rectum. Had 2 colonoscopys, pet scan, endoscopy and nothing showed up. After reading other reviews here I convinced her that Xeralto was her problem. Her cardiologist changed her meds about 3 weeks ago and she has had not more back spasms and is already feeling stronger. I would NOT recommend this drug to anyone. It is a killer.Read More Read Less

I have been on Xarelto since April. Every day is worse, I feel like I am a hundred years old. The pain in my legs especially at night is unamaginable. I can not sleep in any position! I feel worse now than when I was in ICU!

Been on Xeralto for about two months, experienced severe migraines. No bleeding issues since I'm hypercoagulative. Have had multiple DVTs and PEs. Was on Pradaxda, experienced severe stomach issues. This is the last drug, hope I can continue

I have only been on Xarelto for 3 1/2 weeks and have not been the same ever since. My energy level is non-existant. All I want to do is sleep, but often I can't. I am experiencing heartburns, headaches, tingeling in my arms and legs and itching on certain areas of my body that I don't care to mention. After tomorrow I have to switch from 2 pills a day (15 mg each), to 1 pill (20 mg); my hope is to feel a little better. I can simply not imagine taking this medication over a long period of time.Read More Read Less

No complaints so far. This is replacing Warfarin that I have been on for 1.5 years. Xarelto is being used off label for my Antiphospolipid Antibody Syndrome and I have had many people tell me I should not be using it. My general doctor put me on it and my hemotologist ok'd only if I take a baby aspirin with it. My blood levels are not monitored at all which scares me. I bruise a lot on this med, much more than Warfarin.

Very easy to use - no blood tests every day. The only thing, or side effect for me, is hair loss - clumps when shampooing my hair.

I have been taking Xarelto for 5 months. After this first 21 days I increased the dosage as ordered. My repeat ultrasound was much worse. The doctor even wondered if I was taking it like I was supposed to. After close review of the literature, I discovered the absorption is dramatically less if you don't take it with food!! I was eating right because I was in a lot of pain! I began taking it religiously with food and my last ultrasound was much improved!!! I think that was the problem!! I have not had any side effects and prefer taking this instead of Coumadin. I didn't want the dietary influences or the frequent blood draws. I will say I contacted Janssen pharmaceutical about this & their customer service rep. was RUDE. Read More Read Less

Preventative treatment for clotting disorder. Warfarin was difficult to be on due to frequent blood draws. Since beginning this (only 3 or 4 weeks)I noticed after a few days that my lips and toungue very slightly tingle. I also have a rash on my hand and it itches as posted by another reviewer. Would like to stay on it, hopefully it will pass.

Five weeks in when tiny blisters have broken out on my hand, both arms, behind my ears, scalp. None have gone away, just get more. Worse, have osteoarthritis with no relief. Have constant fast heartbeat. Allergic to Coumadin. I'm stuck.
