I have been on Xarelto for one month. For the first 2 weeks I had no side effects but the longer I stay on it the more I have noticed that I am exhibiting symptoms I have never had. I am having muscle spasms around my eyes and eyelids. I have seen an opthalmologist and all is fine but they continue and are very annoying. I see that a side effect of this drug is muscle spasms. Also, I am itching a...

I switched from warfaren to Xeralta in mar 2013. I began having pain in my thighs July, I did not have any idea what the cause was. The pain moved around and got worse until Nov 2014 where I switched back to Warfaren, things continued to get worse until Dec 30, the doctor called an ambulance and off to the hospital screaming in pain in legs, hip and back. I just got out yesterday (jan 11,2015). It...

No energy, increased back pain, weak bladder and bowel control, leg muscle aches, headaches. Have lost 15lbs since taking my first Xarelto tablet 6 months ago. Have no appetite and food in general not appealing.

I have been taking Xeralto for over 6 months now after switching from Coumadin. I have not had any side effects or complaints. I also love that there are no food restrictions other than grapefruit. I believe if you are relatively healthy and are not allergic to it, it should work fine. Also depends on other meds you are taking. Talk to your pharmacist - no one knows drug interactions better than your pharmacist.

After an emergency room visit outside of the US, and being given Lovenox (injections) for 16 days, I was grateful to be prescribed Xarelto. I haven't had any side effects. Even though the price is prohibitive, Xarelto is covering my costs. I'm hoping to be on it short term.

Have used coumadin(warfarin), pradaxa, and now xarelto since heart surgery 5 plus years ago. Also have a pacemaker for the last 3 years. Xarelto is easy to use and I don't have dietary restrictions as with coumadin. Have been on Xarelto almost 3 years with no ancillary issues. My cardiologist switched me from pradaxa to xarelto almost 3 years ago.

i have been taking this drug for three months with three more months to go to treat PE; this drugs had me feeling very agitated, not able to sleep and having lost of appetite. i was back and forth to the emergency room with these side effects. although my blood levels were good, this medicine is not a good choice for me to use. doctor kept telling me it is not the medication but after the three months of time on this enough is enough. will start another and hopefully will not have the same experiences Read More Read Less

I have ben taking Xarelto for 6 days for a blood clot in my leg after vein ablation surgery. The past couple of days I have had horrible lower back pain, pain in my shoulders and neck. The only thing that makes me feel better is taking a walk. The good news is that my doctor thinks I should not be on it for more than 30 days. Good luck to everyone.

Extensive right femoral DVT Jan./15. Right hip replaced May/12. Best guess is I should have been on anticoagulants post op. Symptoms itching, serious cramping, tingling toes, all seem to be abating with time. I've had some fairly scary injuries that haven't lead to as much bleeding as I feared. The thinner blood isn't as rich as what it was hence a decreased energy level, I guess. Still working a physical job.

I checked 5 stars satisfaction because I have been on this drug over 3 years and no blood clot or stroke. BUT in these 3 years I have horific back pain on standing which I just thought was due to old auto injuries. Also my teeth are getting cavities and breaking off and now need pulling. My doctor wont let me stop the xarelto because I keep having episodes of a-fib. I am taking other meds to control the a-fib and recently was defibrilated in hospital. I am curious to know if anyone else is having dental problems. My gums bleed when I brush my teeth, but not unless I injure them with food otherwise. I also have blood in my urine I believe as I now have minor incontinence and wear a micro pad at all times. The spotting on the pad is always brown. I am 71 and female. If any other persons out there on this drug are having dental problems please report in this section. I think my problems are from the drug because I had not had a cavity since I was 15 and a dentist scaled my teeth. No cavities prior to that instance either. I have cavities even in my front teeth and they are breaking apart. I don't want to smile anymore. Prior to the Xarelto I did have a couple teeth pulled that had old fillings in them and eating nuts and hard candy cracked them.My doctor wants to have a specialist perform an ablation on me. Internally in my heart shock it into rhythm. I am so scared to do that. If there was a tiny clot hiding that could not be seen, the shock would send it on its way. I was a critical care medical assistant for 41 years. I know what could or would happen and I do not want to live another 15 to 20 years as a part or whole vegetable. That is crude but it is how I feel.Read More Read Less

After two weeks on Xarelto 20 mg I started to get very painful headaches everyday and extreme shoulder and arm pain. Don't know if it's the Xarelto or not. I will wait one more week before I see the doctor and get blood work. Worried !

I'm 39 y/o have dvt and been taking xarelto for almost 2 months now. I was happy when i was prescribed to use this med coz i can get rid off injection but lately I have noticed a tingling pain on my joints esp on my knees. Painful legs and feverish skin when touched. Also painful heels and can hardly walk when I get up from bed or from few minutes of sitting. I did not expect all these side effects as It was not mentioned and explained by the pharmacist. I will have an appointment with my Doc in more than a week and hopefully everything will be okay.Read More Read Less

This drug thins the blood, but also causes extreme joint pains. My hips, shoulders, back, and legs were in constant pain. For me the pain came on slowly after a period of taking this drug for about three months. I had taken this drug for a little over a year. I recently switched to warafin and as soon as I did the pain went away. If you are taking this drug with no problem great. But if you are experiencing any painfull side affect switch to something else. Don't let your doctor talk you out of it. And if you need to do what I did and change doctorsRead More Read Less

Bad taste and smell in mouth, body feels run down, depressed. Going to get off this drug and try something natural, my naturopathic doctor says to get off this drug and get on nattokinase.

Their Carepath program is a joke! My pharmacy wouldn't honor their "discount" card, and when instructed to send in all my receipts, savings card number, and rebate certificates,I was told I wasn't even in their system.Would be better off with Eliquis

I started this med after I got a bloodclot in left calf area Aug. 2014. Before this med when I would cut myself I would bleed profusely. Also had nosebleeds periodically. Since on this med, I bleed LESS and bruise less. Asked dr. about this. He had no explanation. He suggested I call company. I did. They did not know why this would be either. I have felt subdued and tire more easily. Some muscle weakness. The bloodclot has become smaller but it is still there so I will be on this medication longer. It is a bit scary that if there is a problem (bleeding) on this drug that there is no recourse. It is convenient and easy to take. I could not take time from work required to regulate the older blood thinners.Read More Read Less
