I have been on most anti-depressants on the market but they stop working after a while. When my doctor gave me a sample packet with 10mg, 20mg and 40mg,I threw the paperwork away. I started on 10mg every morning for seven days. I THOUGHT I HAD DIED AND GONE TO HEAVEN. I felt like a new person. The same thing with the 20mg. My family and friends were amazed; however, I did talk a lot about not...

The jury is still out on Viibryd. I'm having minor hallucinations and extremely vivid and violent dreams. If it's working on my depression, I'd hate to see what I'd be like without it. I find I'm not as spaced out on this as I have been on other medications (Effexor, Paxil, Celexa, Pristiq, etc.) and haven't had any episodes of brain zaps or numbness. I've been on it a couple of months now and haven't had any remarkable weight gain. Still can't give any drug a good recommendation - it makes life tollerable.Read More Read Less

After taking 10mg viibryd for 3 weeks i experienced a terrible panic attack and anxiety waking up 1 morning. I proceeded to the Emergency Room because i couldn't calm down. I was given xanex to help with anxiety. My doctor wanted me to continue the viibryd and 1 week later i again ended up in the ER. This time it was worse and I was having suicidal thoughts, I was givin more anxiety medication until I could see my doctor. The doctor in the ER advised me to stop taking the Viibryd. After 3 days I was feeling better but not back to normal. After seeing my doctor he agreed this was a reaction to the Viibryd. I am now taking an anxiety drug until the Viibryd gets out of my system. I have taken many different medications for depression in the last 15 years and have never had any of these side effects before. It has been very scary. Read More Read Less

I took this for some anxiety I was having. The first few days went okay and I didn't feel much different. By the 4th day I had extreme side effects. I woke up in a panic with my body shaking and I could barely talk or move and my heart was racing and I had nausea. This lasted for about an hour before I called my doctor and she recommended that I stop taking it. It was my first time on a medication like this but I can't say it was pleasurable for me.

I have been on antidepressant medication for the last 30 years. Every few years I have to change, so I've pretty much taken them all. this is the first one that I felt the effects immediately within 2 days, not several weeks. Not only is my mood improved, but I am able to sleep with no additional meds. I wake refreshed and ready to go. The only side affect is the dreams, but all of the anti-depressant meds affect me that way. It's a small price to pay for feeling "normal"

I started using Viibryd three weeks ago. I found that from the beginning I was able to feel a calmness and a focus on the changes that I will be taking in the near future. I'm at 40mg and I think that would be the best strength for anyone going through depression and anxieties.

My Dr. gave me the trial pack of Viibryd. I must say, so far so good. I feel so much better, I used to panic and worry so badly and this has taken the edge off. I feel much more relaxed and centered. I'm on the second week. As far as side effects, had some diarrhea and nausea in the beginning, but that has subsided. I actually have a decreased appetite too. I would recommend this drug, I've tried Paxil, Effexor, etc. and this is the best so far.

I've tried them all the past 20 years. This is by far the best. Makes me feel perfect with zero side effects. Problem 100% solved.

I am not severely depressed but rather going through a lot of stress and very angry, taking it out on people that don't deserve it. I have only been taking it a week but am absolutely exhausted all the time to the point where all i wanted to do was sleep. PLUS major stomach issues. I hate this medication.

ok...So this is my third week on this drug and can vouch I feel better alongside my bipolar drug lamictal. I have taken all the drugs all the drugs under the sun for ten years. Cymbalta was effective for years then a few weeks I had a severe suicide attempt. I thought maybe it was my BP med that needed to be changed but instead my psychatrist believed my cymbalta became ineffective. I feel much better and can finally be more productive since starting this med. I still have suicidal ideations but believe that is more of a therapy issue rather a medication imbalance. One side effect I have is HORRIBLE nite sweats and more than normal tremor like side effect. i believe that taking this med has helped me in combination with intense therapy. For the most part I think its a great drug. I just need to be more aware of when my meds become ineffective so I dont have a complete melt down. MB.Read More Read Less

I am a 59 year old female and on the first week of 40mg. I really think this is better than Celexa with helping my depression. I am very upset about the weight gain. I tried this because I didn't think it had any weight issues, like the Celexa. But depression is so much better.

As soon as I started the 40mg, I became extremely suicidal and my bipolar went through the roof. I also became a horrible insomniac. I stuck with it for week thinking maybe these symptons would go away, but after a week it was either the pills that had to go, or I would take mt own life.

Hi, I felt that some information from myself, may assist some people that are taking this medication for major depressive disorder. I was taking other medications for my major depression(Cymbalta and Trazadone), Those medications barely touched my depression. I was in tears daily and almost had a break-down. (not something I wanted my kids to see)My Primary-Care-Physician was the one to change my medication to Viibryd. My Pain-Management-Physician started me on the others. I have noticed a little improvement on this medication; however, you have to understand that I have only been on this medication for 10 days. I was given the starter pack(7-days on 10mg, 7-days on 20mg, 16 days on-40mg. I am into the second week of medication on 20mg. I believe this is the best choice because you can ease into a higher lever as compared to starting off at a high level and have no where else to go. I am very pleased so far with this medication for my major-depressive-disorder. I did not feel the other medications were really helping me. I have chronic pain from two major diseases.(Complex Regional-Pain-Syndrome and Fibromyalgia) I was in a car accident in 2009 and received a tear in my hip from which I developed the CRPS disease and was recently diagnosed with Fybromyalgia. Needless to say, I have major-depressive-disorder. I like this new medication; it not only helps with depression, it also assists with reaching climax with my husband, something the other two drugs were seriously lacking. I can not yet comment on the weight-gain or loss. I will comment on this when I reach the last week of my pack.Read More Read Less

I switched from Lexapro (for panic disorder) to Viibryd (20 mg) in the hopes of alleviating sexual side effects. The Viibryd seems to be as effective a medication as Lexapro, but I have even worse orgasm issues with Viibryd than I did with Lexapro. Also experiencing bad diarrhea every few days or so, but I could live with this. All in all, not what it's cracked up to be in my case. I will probably go back to Lexapro.
