I have been on most anti-depressants on the market but they stop working after a while. When my doctor gave me a sample packet with 10mg, 20mg and 40mg,I threw the paperwork away. I started on 10mg every morning for seven days. I THOUGHT I HAD DIED AND GONE TO HEAVEN. I felt like a new person. The same thing with the 20mg. My family and friends were amazed; however, I did talk a lot about not...

My experience for the first week was great. I was reducing Prozac as I was taking the Viibryd. However, two days into the second week (the 20 mg dose), I started having severe stomach cramps. So bad that I went to my GP who thought it might be bacterial and put me on an antibiotic. I took the antibiotic and increased to the 40 mg dose of Viibryd. The cramps never stopped and continued to get worse as I raised the dose. I really didn't want to believe it was the Viibryd as I was feeling better on it; however after a CT scan ruled out anything else, my doc told me to stop the Viibryd. After a few days, stomach pains went away. What a shame as it seemed like a great drug. Couldn't take the constant stomach pain.Read More Read Less

I was given this drug for anxiety. I have had weight gain with other meds so we tried this one. It brought about headaches, stomache aches, nausea, diarrhea, horrible dreams, insomnia, a few pounds gained and an overall feeling of "blah". I took it for 8 weeks at every dose suggested and even tried halfing some doses. I have been off it for a little over a week and on to a new drug. Already feeling so much better. This drug...not for me.

The first two weeks were terrible...the stomach pain, diarrhea...I felt like I had been hit in the stomach. But I felt so much better...anxiety and mood is much better. My husband says that he finally has his wife back and I feel like myself again. Now on Day 22, and stomach pains are gone. (I am glad that I stuck it out)...I eat yogurt and bagel/ cream cheese every morning with this med...I am very satisfied now...I have tried many others and so far...so GOOD!!

I started this med a little over a week ago for mdd and I was having alot of anxiety. I have had diaherra, tremors, shaking very bad and restless legs, plus blurry vision, and my anxiety has worsened. Although it has seemed to help with my fibro pain and has helped my mood,I called my doc and he said to stop the med. There's not alot of reviews on this med yet,but the ones I have read don't seem to be having as bad side effects as me . I don't understand. I am on Savella for fibro and Trazodone for sleep.Read More Read Less

Started feeling better very soon. Not crying so often or easily. More energy and wanting to do things. Wondered if I might really be getting my life back! So wonderful. Noticed the headaches right away but thought headaches are nothing compared to depression. Then the NIGHTMARES started. Couldn't expain them at first. Just woke up knowing I was having them. Tonite has been horrible. The nightmares are so vivid. I know everything that is happening. My husband and I are trying to sleep and have even gone to get our toddler to keep her in the bed with us to protect her. It is pitch dark and people are coming by our bed and grabbing at us. They are trying to put foam over us and saying that first we must have the foam and then the water. I am physically touching the people in these dreams and fighting them off. Squeezing their arms and pushing them away as they are closing in. They will no stop!!! I have one hand on my daughter at all times and am using arms, hands and feet to fight them off. Finally got up and turned on lights and looked up this med and nightmares. The effectiveness is lessening and I am at about 6 or 7 weeks. I have not experienced nightmares with any other ADs.Read More Read Less

Is anyone else having the following symptoms taking this drug? I have dizziness, tingling in my palms, "spaced out" feeling in my head, insomnia, and headache. I have already went from 10 mg to 5 mg on my doctors recommendation. I have only been on this for 1 week. Should I give it more time or try something else?

I will never know if this drug might eventually be effective for me. The intestinal cramping I have experienced ( as soon as I went to the second level dosage) is beyond belief. This was a trial package. Sure glad I didn't pay 140 bucks for it. It is going in the trash. I will probably go back on Elavil. Sometimes the older generation of drugs are the best.

Not a brief description so skip this review if you are looking for some stars or one or two words. Worked good at first. As the dosage went up, the side fx did too. 1st two neg side fx were worsening anger and passing semen in urine but a good libido. I'd leak after urinating and had the feeling that I just was not done peeing. After recognizing that my mood, demeanor and everything else was borderline out of control, I pulled a medical no-no (not conferring with my doctor) and stopped the med after 6 weeks, I was up tp 40mg. If I thought the side fx were bad, holy crap coming off this stuff was no joke. I've been on and came off of several diff meds but this one almost done me in. 1st time ever medicated or not that I felt like this medication crap isn't worth it. It's better for me to live miserable than to experience the withdrawal from this. Some things I experienced was: the worst insomnia of my life, uncontrollable anger, falling to sleep and being in a semi-awake state screaming as loud as I could and nothing coming out, extremely talkative at times, no filter or concern about what is said, no energy in the morning, considered separating from my wife and kids and they did nothing wrong, very non-schelaunt attitude and the weird sensation of being shocked or electrocuted (never xperieced that b4), had slight weight gain. Most, if not all of these occurred while coming off and it's taken a lot longer than I anticipated. It's been 2 weeks since I've taken any, I did try to reduce the dosage, evidently I got it wrong. I still have the feeling of not being"just right or being my normal self" and I still feel very detached and emotionless. Sorry for the brief description but it may help someone. Try it, we are all different, it might work for you. If you have negative side fx early, get off of it immediately, go back to your doctor and go another route.Read More Read Less

I've had major depression and anxiety for 20 years, taken everything out here. Even though I am still on Buprop XL 300mg and 10mg of prozac it wasn't enough. Still on the Buprop XL the first 10mg of Viibryd, I noticed a lift, Clarity even felt there was some hope, the heaviness had lifted. I still take 1mg xanex to sleep. I have great hopes for Viibryd, hope to reduce other medication. For now it has really started to give me my life back.

After about 7 weeks I started to have very violent nightmares and started hearing "voices". Mostly just sounds of voices. So I stopped taking it the next morning. BAD mistake. My skin is itchy, I'm very angery and I can only sleep for 20-30 min at a time. My eyes water and I start sweating for no reason. Kinda like a druggie going through withdraws. I'm sleeping on the couch AWAY from my family because I'm afraid I might do something in my sleep.

I started taking Viibryd about six weeks ago. I have Bipolar II disorder and was starting to come off Effexor XR while starting the Viibryd. At first I felt great...the only side effects being stomach cramps and loose stools several times a day. Now I'm getting depression and very anxious...I'm so disappointed that this drug is no longer working for me. I've been on thirty-one medications. So far the best for me has been Parnate a MAOI...but it has many food and drug restrictions. Plus I gained a lot of weight on it and was craving alcohol...but I wasn't depressed or anxious.Read More Read Less

It helps the mood swings but my anxiety is strong and I never feel very good. Everytime the dose changes, I get very ill. Not sure if I like it.

I've had Lexapro poop out. I'm on day 5 of Viibryd. For the first time in years, I feel some motivation and energy. Thank God. I've tried so many others and so far, none has had the same effect. I've no noticable side effcts. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I have been on this med for a little over a month. I am going through menopause and spent last year irritable, anxious and angry. I first tried wellbutrin but it wasn't effective enough on my anxiety. I have had a lot of side effects: diarrhea, restlessness in my legs at night, but weight gain has not been a problem. I am feeling much better; calm, not irritable or angry. My problem is when to take it. I am hoping some folks will chime in on when they are taking it. If I take it at dinner time I have trouble sleeping but if I take it in the morning sometimes the day starts out a bit rocky.Read More Read Less

I Just started on this medication. I have been on Prozac for 3 years and Effexor for 1 year. I had to be increased on my dosage and have horrible side effects. Since being on Viibryd I already notice a difference and it has not even been 3 whole weeks. The first week I was nauseous but I was warned about this. I still feel dizzy when exercising. My sleeping schedule has improved greatly. Worried about weight gain because that has always been an issue for me. Mood has greatly improved. I am on 40.Read More Read Less

This drug was prescribed after zoloft was no longer working. Vybrid seems to be doing nothing at all for the anxiety. The diarhea and stomach cramps are horrible. I am trying to find anything else to take.

When the dr. prescribed me this he said weight gain isn't a side effect for this. I am still sckeptical. Has anyone gaiend weight on this?? I feel amazing though, feel like my old self again.
