I have been on most anti-depressants on the market but they stop working after a while. When my doctor gave me a sample packet with 10mg, 20mg and 40mg,I threw the paperwork away. I started on 10mg every morning for seven days. I THOUGHT I HAD DIED AND GONE TO HEAVEN. I felt like a new person. The same thing with the 20mg. My family and friends were amazed; however, I did talk a lot about not...

I've had major depression and anxiety for 25ish years after trying over 100 different meds I had a genealogy test to tell what will and will not work Viibryd is the only thing that has worked and amazingly! I am genuinely happy and anxiety attacks have almost completely gone away. I have energy and can go outside of my home and be in crowds. The only down fall would be I got bumpy patches that itch like crazy. But hopefully I get used to it cause I will not stop taking this medication. I've never felt better.Read More Read Less

The drug is effective, yes. However all of the review about night terrors are very true. I have been on the medicine about 2 months now (40mg), and have them every night. It comes with sleep paralysis and sometimes even hallucinations. It's terrifying. I have experience the "brain zaps" when falling asleep. Please be aware of this before starting the drug. You do wake up exhausted from the vivid dreams and therefore I am napping during the day most days. I have not had any other side effects.

I have tried many anxiety meds and this has been the best one so far. I have not gained any weight on it. It made more anxious than usual at first but mellows out after.

I took a week’s sample given to me from my physician. Immediately, I began having very vivid, strange, psychedelic dreams that would last throughout the night. Because of the dreams, I don’t think I was getting restful sleep as my brain was in hyperactive mode all night, so all I wanted to do was oversleep all the time. I can’t say whether it helped with depression, but the fact I was oversleeping all the time (and missing work/school) on the medication in itself was depressing and stressful. Read More Read Less

I have been prescribed a multitude of antidepressants and mood stabilizers for the past 7 years, Viibryd is the first medication I have recognized and experienced positive results. I think this medication has potential benefits to prescribed users.

Very great antidepressant for me dealing w/ Grief after my twin brother committed suicide. Seems to work better than most on the market. Thankful my PCD switched me from Prozac as I needed better medication for depression and anxiety. Side effects are tolerable vs effects of drug!!!

I have had chronic major depression for over 20years. I have taken just about every antidepressant available. Viibryd is the first one that has really made a difference. I have long periods when my depression symptoms are almost absent, and mostly have less severe symptoms in general.

I've had depression for many years. Doctor's have prescribed most every type and flavor of drug on the market with mixed results, none positive. Viibryd has made my symptoms worse and now I'm fearing the withdraw period. THESE DOCTOR'S ARE JUST DRUG PUSHERS THAT ARE USING US AS TEST DUMBINGS. READ AND KNOW EVERYTHING YOU CAN BEFORE LETTING THEM SCREW UP YOUR LIFE WITH MIND ALTERING DRUGS. I have been listening to them for almost 20 years and no matter what they tell you they don't have a clue how these drugs will effect you and your personality. Once you take the drug you will never be the same even after quitting them. These have the ability to destroy relationships, jobs and your life.Read More Read Less

I should have listened to my body when I began getting the brain zaps. I tried to describe this to my doctor, but we came to the conclusion I must take this drug at the exact same time with a meal. I wanted to believe this was working for a few months, until I then developed an intense craving for sugar and carbs, followed by areas on my face (forehead, cheeks, chin) that would turn bright red and be very hot to the touch. I am now slowly weaning off of the med, and I'm experiencing major agitation, crying episodes, becoming very easily angered, tired and not wanting to get out of bed and feeling like I am crazy because I can't control my emotions. This is the 5th anti-depressant I have been on, and although it's not the worst, I would not recommend it. Read More Read Less

Viibryd has worked wonderfully for my anxiety disorder. When beginning the medication, and each time I stepped up the dosage, I experienced insomnia for 2-3 nights each time. The insomnia subsided once I acclimated to the new dosage and I have had no trouble since. The only other side effect I have experienced is severe itching if I forget to take the medicine. There have been a couple of instances when I forgot to take my meds before bed and waited until the following night to take my next dose. The itching begins on the end of my nose the next morning, then spreads to my face, arms, then lower extremities. All in all, I am very happy with Viibryd!Read More Read Less

I started this medication two weeks ago. I started with the 10 mg, then the 20 mg and now this week on the regular 40 mg. I have had nothing but a calm, good feeling since I started it. I feel like I have come out from under a dark cloud. I actually want to see sunlight and be more active. It's not like a manic good feeling at all just a truly calm good feeling. I have the ability to simply put stressful issues aside and move on with the positive things in the day. I know it is a short period of time but I am truly thankful for this medication. It may go in a different direction sometime but for now I have a very high opinion of Viibryd.Read More Read Less

My doctor put me on this for anxiety. Since I have taken it, I have cried uncontrollably, I have had severe stomach issues and my heart just races. I have to take melatonin just to be able to fall asleep. I will not be taking this another day.

I tried many types of medications before landing on Viibryd. It has been effective "enough" for me for about two years. So I am thankful for that time. However, over the last 5 months my depression has returned. Missing one single dose of this medication sends me into a histamine attack (sneezing

I have started this drug at 10 mgs, then 20, then 30, and I took the 49's for a short time because I was hearing things at night that weren't there and I would have eye pain only in my left eye, but that has since gone away. I thought I would wean myself off and went down to 30's again which actually I can say it honestly seemed to work for about a week, but then got up this am feeling depressed and took the 40 because I ran out of the 30's and now I don't know unless I have to give myself more time being on the 40's. I have tried just about everything else and nothing seems to help so I feel like I am running out of options.Read More Read Less
