I have PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) and I take birth control for a few reasons (#1 to lower my testosterone levels, #2 to have a monthly period since PCOS causes a lack of periods). Over the past 3 years I've been on 6 different birth control pills, and Generess Fe is the best pill I've been on hands down. Every female will react different to the hormones in every pill, so my review will ob...

Asked for an IUD, instead was given Generess Fe. Terrible mood swings, weight gain, nausea, and headaches. Felt like a monster 24/7 after very first dose, Stopped taking after the third day. Remind me again why is this allowed for human consumption?

This was the first pill i was ever on. And i have to say it was horrible. after the first pill, the next morning i woke up with severe dizziness and i started vomiting. Also, my period normally lasts 4 days, and its not too heavy after the first day. I was going through ultra tampons ALL WEEK, in about 1 to 2 hours. i dont recommend this pill to anyone.. I switched after 2 weeks.

Since taking this birth control my blood pressure went up and my muscles began to tighten... Everything I was taking it for (regulate my period & lighter period) was going fine. After about a months time of taking it everything went down hill with my health. I could barely walk due to joint pain. I ended up on blood pressure pills for a little over a month.

This is my first time back on the pill after a few years of being off, and the results does not feel or look good. I'm on my second week and I've experienced heavy/long periods with continuous spotting. I also had crazy bloating, increase in appetite and stomach cramps and backaches. Worse, my face and back started breaking out -- like angry volcanic size zits that seems to have a mind of their own and like to multiply nightly. I debated for the last two days whether to continue my free 3-months worth and even try to reach out to my doctor but without success, I am calling it quits with this pill and hopefully seek a better alternative. I'm confused at the reviews I'm reading because I have hardly had a bad experience with this drug at all. The only problems are mild moodswings and random little cramps through out the month (but this is much better than the debilitating cramps I used to get). However it has made my period considerably lighter and is doing it's job in the birth control area. I like it and the minty flavor is enjoyable. :P

This is my first birth control pill ive taken and i hate it. The first week or two were fine then week three my mood compltely changed. I became mad at almost everything and ive had headaches almost everyday. I still get bad cramps so this didnt help with that part of things. Also ive been very bloted and ive gained weight. I dont know if this is a side effect but ive been very tired too but cant sleep through the night since ive started this. IvE felt sick everyday too.

I think it all depends on who you are and how you body reacts to birth control on general. I have been on serval different types and i dont see any other syspomts whith this one that i didnt have with others. it is cheaper than the other one i was taking which is why i swtiched. tat bothered me little at first but i have no problems other than the common side effets of any birth control the first couple of months.

I have been experimenting with different birth controls because I was on one for along time and then my body started changing! Do not take this pill. I had no side effects except PSYCHO! I turned into an evil person. I was yelling at people for stupid stuff. My fiance said I dont even know who you are. I would get angry so easily. I would flip out over stupid things. Mainly I became angry and violent.

I'm not really sure. My periods have only been like spotty periods. I think I would like to have a period every month just to feel safe. And it's given me some headaches.

Am not sure how I feel about this pill, on my 3rd pack, yet to get my period, some light headaches, and slight spotting on the first pack. Compared to other pills, I have found this pill be somewhat mysterious. Concerned about not having periods. And yes, not pregnant as confirmed by pregnancy test.

I am on my third pack now. When I first started I got headaches and was nauseous every night. That went away after about two weeks. I have never had ache on my body but now my arms & back breakout. My breast have also been tender for 2 months now. I called my doctor and she said to give it 3 months for my body to get adjusted. It has gotten better but still hasn't gone away...at first it hurt to even wear a bra. I just recently got my 2nd period on the pill. The first period was fine but during the 2nd I have been cramping up to the point wear I want to hunch over and before I had been one of the lucky few to never have cramps during my period. I'm going to give it one more month...if I continue to have cramps and breast tenderness I'm going to stop taking them.Read More Read Less

I never used birth control before until this pill and I absolutely love it. I can't take pills so when I found out they had chewable ones, it was amazing. I take them just as the instructions follow and I have no problems at all. Having your period reduce from 9 days to just 2 is so great. I don't have any side effects at all, at least not anything extremely noticeable that I know of. The only bad thing I have to say is that the last 4 pills in the pack taste horrible to me. All month you have nice minty flavored pills, but those last four taste like clay/chalk or something. That and the $65 price of course, but hey, they made my life better so I'm not complaining too much. Read More Read Less

I have had absolutely no problems with this pill. I've been taking it for a month and a half and my periods are lighter than ever and I haven't had any symptoms! I would recommend it.

Worst pill ever! I was only taking it to regulate very long periods and only 2 days into it I had to stop. I felt like i was going to throw up all day and was full of anxiety.

After the 1st month of taking these pills, I noticed I stopped losing weight, as I was exercising everyday.I've noticed that all birth control do this with me, so its ok. The only other thing is that with the inactive pills, my cramping is horrible. I just have a heavy yucky feeling all week until I start a new pack. Other than that I haven't noticed any mood swings or headaches.

This was my first birth control I have ever taken. I hated it. Hours after taking it I became anxious and the next morning I was throwing up all over. The morning sickness lasted about a week then my appetite increased like crazy. I couldn't stop eating, I gained 8 lbs. Also, I began breaking out on my chin. The worst part was the anxiety never went away and caused me to go into depression. I am now in therapy and on medicine for that. Since, I have stopped taking it and I seem to be getting back to normal. DO NOT TRY THIS IT IS HORRIBLE. Read More Read Less

I've only been on this for a week, and I have hypothyroidism. But just in this week, I have had the worst mood swings of my life. To give you an idea: I broke my closet door from kicking it, I flat-out screamed at my fiance to shut up, everyone has told me I haven't been myself, and after my fiance walked out (after I screamed at him, I said I wanted to die. I've never been a suicidal person. My GP had no idea what to do because the pill is so new, so she said to call my OBGYN. I think it may be the combo of mood swing side effects mixed with the side effect of interfering with thyroid hormones (for those with hypothyroidism). I'll finish my two free packs, but if this continues, I'm quitting it. I'd rather change BC than have my fiance break off our engagement because of these mood swings.Read More Read Less

Im on my second week and am trying to keep taking it to see if it will even out. Since Ive started taking my pills I have had a slight headaches, drastic mood swings (normally Im pretty level headed), and have lost all my desire for sex. I guess that makes it effective but not great feeling wanting to cry all the time.

Started this pill after a bad experience with the shot. OH MAN, what a difference! I couldn't be happier. Lighter, less crampy periods, clearer skin, no more weight gain or mood swings. The $25 discount card is great, although I worry what will happen when it expires. Don't much fancy paying triple that price. Anyone know if they let you renew that thing?
