The drug sounds good, but it doesn't work for me. I started having a head ache and being tired, but later felt very dizzy and much more tired. I am having trouble concentrating and it interferes with me doing my work. I started taking it last Saturday and stopped on Wednesday. Today is Saturday and I am still tired and dizzy. I almost fell down on Friday night in my house. I also have a heaviness in my chest, which I think is a heart problem. I am sensative to some other drugs. I haven't checked my blood sugar lately. I switched back to regular metformin. The size of the pill is just fine, if it only worked for me. Read More Read Less

I have been taking 1 5/1000mg tablet for about 4 months. I take it in the morning with my breakfast. My morning levels have been consistiently 120 or less and my evening levels are usually in the 80's and 90's. This drug is very expensive but my doctor gave me a pamphlet on the drug that had a card attatched to it. I registered the card with the drug company online. After registering the card there was no charge the first 3 months and now are only $10 a month for as long as the doctor prescribes the medicine. This card works if your presciption is for a 30 day supply each month.Read More Read Less

My Doctor took me off Avandamet this past January as he heard better results from this drug. I switched to it and have not noticed a single side effect. It is like I never changed drugs. Blood sugar levels remain the same. I believe the drug is a good one.

I take Komblyglyze, and it causes prolonged digestions. Something I normally experience. As a restult, I feel like I have stomach discomfort all day long. Since the drug is time released, I feel like eating to support my medication. There is nothing better than injectable mixed pens to control your sugar. You bring it to level, and leave it alone, and stop eating snacks between meals. I will be having route y barriatric surgery soon to forever get rid of my problems. I'm tired of the meds.Read More Read Less

I have been taking this for about a week and so far so good. Only mild side affect, some diarrhea. Pill is large as others have said but not too hard to swallow. My readings are improved and for the first time fell below 100 once. Hard to say for sure though if it is the drug or the fact that I have changed my diet, but likely a combination of both

Went off of Actos and Metformin due to medical reports of bladder cancer. I went on this a month ago and levels went very high in the 190s to 315s. Prior to this, 147 to 180.

This medication has worked very well for me, as I am bad at taking meds on time. It has helped immensley with getting my AM glucose down. I just have to make sure I have a glass of skim milk in the evening with it.

I started taking this medication over two weeks ago. After the second dose I started vomiting profusely. I continued for a few days and my readings came down from 180 - 190 to 120. After reading these reviews I feel like I should continue this med and see if the side effect subsides. Will let you know!

I have been on this med for about a year, I take 2.5mg/1000mg twice a day. It has been better than the metformin. But I think I might get better results from the pills if I excercised and ate better. It does make me nauseated if I do not eat after taking the pill. I must eat something about every 3 hours or i will start to feel sick. If I go to bed without something of substance in my belly, I will wake up 2 to 3 hours later sick on the stomache. Sometimes a cup of applesauce or fruit cup is not enough to prevent the upset stomache. So I have to eat more than I want sometimes. There is some loose stools from the meds but since I am on a statin that constipates it will balance it out most of the time.Read More Read Less

I take 1 pill a day with dinner. My glucose levels starting dropping immediately and were below 120 within 3 weeks. When I started I had 1 day of mild digestive issues. It has made my diagnosis and life style changes seem effortless. I am very happy with this medication.

I'm taking this now because they took Avandamet off the market. I really liked Avandamet--used it for 6 years with no problem. On this new med for 3 days. I am experiencing severe chest pains lasting an hour (first night), severe reflux and abdominal pain (second night), reflux, gas, belching and constipation by 3rd night. None of this is normal for me. Has anyone experienced these problems?

It seems as though no one who's reviewed this drug has taken it long term! I've been on it for 7mos. It's helped a lot, with my insulin, to reduce glucose levels without causing me the diarrhea metformin alone caused. I take 2.5/1000 every 12 hrs. Now I'm having bad liver tests and presumed lactic acidosis. Short term I found it an excellent help but long term I'm suffering in pain, have a ton of trouble exercising and working is out of the question. There just isn't energy and the pain meds I'm taking to treat the pain from the lactic acidosis wipes me out. On top all that, the pills are gigantic, can't be crushed or split (because they're time release) and I tend to choke on them. Read More Read Less

I have had no side effects from this medication, but I do take it in the morning with breakfast. My AM sugars have been 120 and under with most at 98-100. Like only taking one pill/day.
