My concern is that Metamucil claims to be free of Aspartame which is known to cause cancer but my container definitely states it contains Aspartame. I am very disappointed.

While Metamucil works for me, I can get the exact same result using raw psyllium husk which I add to breakfast cereal or fruit smoothy; and I don't need to add ASPARTAME. Can't for the life of me figure why they would add such crap to their product. No way I'll use it now. People, stop using ASPARTAME. It has not been adequately researched — the jury is still out regarding its safety and should not be legally used.
