Been using Victoza for several months now. Very good results. Unfortunatley I have been recently diagnosed with medullary thyroid cancer. My doctor said there may be a link to Victoza usage. Not good.

This has been a good experience for me. I've used Victoza 2 months and lost over 15lbs, immediately. I started at .6 then moved up to 1.2 on the Victoza Pen. Walmart Pharmacy has a very good prescription program to help with the cost of the needles and Pen. My readings are between 85 and 90 before and after eating. Was nauseated but never threw up.

I have only been on this medicine for 3 days, but everything seems good so far. I was leary about giving myself a shot, but Victoza is very easy to use and you can hardly feel the needle. For those concerned about the cost, my Doctor said that there are certain pharmacies that have a pilot program with Victoza where your co-pay is covered for a year. I have noticed that I feel full much fast than before and am not hungry as much as before. I have had acid reflux and a minor headache but nothing unmanageable. Read More Read Less

I am a morbidly obese patient, that has PCOS, insulin resistance, and I am not a diabetic. However, the insulin resistance part of the PCOS is making it nearly impossible to loose weight, no matter how little I eat. I am on Victoza for 3 full weeks now, along with a prescription of Metformin, and I have lost about 11 pounds the first 3 weeks. I have not had ANY nausea or gas issues that people complain about, and I am at max dose 1.8 once a day. My appetite is drastically less, my cravings are completely reduced, and it takes less food to feel full with. So far, I could not be happier with this new medication.Read More Read Less

I been taking Victoza since the end of July 2010. This is a miracle drug for me. Typically my blood sugars have average 85 to 100 since taking it, and I've lost about 10 lbs so far. The appetite has definitely change; I have to remember to eat and no longer crave sweets/carbs. In the early weeks, the vomiting was hard to deal with, but that has eased some what. I take it (1.2mg Victoza) along side 1000mg of Glucaphage daily, but have to ensure at least 4 hours between the Victoza and a Glucaphage dose or the vomiting returns. All in all, I'm very happy with this medication. Yeah for 'V'...Read More Read Less

I began using Victoza 4 months ago..I have experienced so side effects and my HA1C has gone down significantly (from 7.0 to 6.1). What I like best is the fact that you only use one shot a day so it is much easier to use.

Overall goal is weight loss and reduce or eliminate insulin thru weight loss, exercise and diet. Started this drug for third time with Actos. First time with Humalog (on a sliding scale before meals) and Lantus at bedtime, (dose cut in half as needed until zero is needed) at 1.2 does experienced violent hiccups and vomiting along with constipation. Lost 10 pounds and sugars were never over 120. Root cause was Meals to large and not drinking enough water. Second attempt experienced ED at 1.8. Third attempt, first week, 0.6; sugars no higher than 125, have not taken any Lantus or Humalog. Lost 4 pounds. mild heart burn and occasional hiccups. Will move up click by click until ED occurs then back off until ED goes away. Third time Pros; weigh loss, not hungry and lower sugars. Cons; not thirsty, can’t judge sugar low levels by feel, not thirsty at all, very small and more frequent meals or violent hiccups/nausea will result, generally feel different, mild heart burn, occasional hiccups when I consume near the food limit. Happy with drug if I can lose weigh without the major side effects.Read More Read Less

I have been on Victoza for 4 weeks now and my numbers haven't been above 116. Sore at the injection site(leg), but overal tollerable. Weight loss total so far is 8 lbs. I don't feel as tired and I have to force myself to eat. I haven't finished a complete meal, always leaving food on my plate. I wish I started this medicine a long time ago!!

After 3 months - 34 lb weight loss, blood sugars have dropped about 30 points, A1C went from 6.1 to 5.9. Only side effect so far is manageable constipation. Hope this all keeps up (except the constipation). So far am very happy with Victoza - dose 1.2

I'm very pleased with the results. I take Victoza and Metformin (2 times a day). My numbers are better than the ever were with Byetta. I've been taking it for 3 weeks with no side effects so far.

I am a 35 year old female and have been taking Victoza since August 22. I have lost 10 lbs so far. I am very tired but I feel better now than I did before the medication. I have no other side effects except bruising at the injection sites which is no big deal. Will continue to monitor progress.

I started Victoza around March 2010. I have lost around 10 pds, my blood sugars are always great now. I am still taking glucophage also. This drug has been a miracle for me. I would recommend it. I have had no bad side effects that I read from others. Doc says A1C is great!

So far so good. Have been on Victoza since March 2010. No significant weight loss. Some bruising at the injection site. I have experienced a slight nausea that I would attribute to Victoza. I inject in the abdomen, it's not fun. Drug needs to be oral.

Victoza simply put my bowels in an uproar and I was tired all the time, after 6 weeks. I am off of it now and feel better and bowels are in check. But I like the no craving sweets and loss of weight, slowly.

Replaced insulin with Victoza, and in three weeks have ramped up from 0.6 to 1.8 mg/day. Blood sugar is well controlled, usually between 90 and 110 in the morning, and during the day staying within 20 points of the morning reading--much better than with the once-a-day insulin. Also in those three weeks I've lost 8 pounds. Minor nausea (though no vomiting) has kept my appetite down. Have been experimenting with much smaller meals, which has usually helped. I am very tired, though--is this a side effect of the drug or the disease? Very satisfied with the drug. Read More Read Less

Extreme nausea and tiredness at the highest dose of 1.6. Dropped back to 1.2 and symptoms much less. Now an injection site reaction is happening.

Took Victoza over 4 months. Told my Dr. about the vomiting; she wanted me to stay on it. So I started over with using the lower, middle and higher doses on a weekly basis. Still I could not tolerate the violent vomiting and rotten eggs burping tastem and 'losing' 2 days of my life every time I got sick. I lost only 10 pounds. My numbers did not come down, especially the fasting. My Dr. does not know I quit taking it; she will not be happy with me but that's a chance I have to take. Went back to Metformin and Glimepiride. #s are better if I watch the carbs; if I don't, they go through the roof. It would appear I'm on my way to insulin. Read More Read Less
